Now that we are in rug pull mode, the only deadline left is next month. I'm curious to see how this all concludes. The expiry of the domain.
I accepted the lost money, now I am here for the morbid curiosity

I was upset at first that I basically broke even after years on here due to taking some losses on my FUN and I sold right before the pump earlier this year, but I'm glad I got out especially with the BTC i had in here.  I got both FUN and BTC out before payments stopped, so I can't complain too much.

someday I'd love to know what actually happened.

Withdrew $40+ from FreeBitco.in 2 days ago
~snip~
Hope they are not trying to scam us. Will update later.
Welcome back! Looks like you haven't followed this thread for the last few months. Freebitco team hasn't processed any Bitcoin withdrawals of the users since the last 50 days. They are cooking the scam, and your withdrawal is a part of it now.

I removed TheQuin from my trust list and gave negative feedback to wetsuit saying "Looks like FreeBitco.in decided to be a scam. There's a lot of complaints, check the link."

It used to be a great site. Shame on them, whoever owns it now.

The cherry on top will be if they once again don't draw the prize in the Lambo lottery, the round of which ends in five days, and then shut down the site because they don't renew it. So if these two unfortunate events do indeed happen in the near future, then yes, they can finally be called scammers.

I was not aware the ownership changed hands, I was under the impression the owners are the same as they have always been. As for your feedback and trust list, all members should be encouraged to leave feedback and use their trust list in order to use the tools to exercise our right as members of the forum. Freebitcoin has certainly lost customers, trust and reputation over the previous couple years. I think it is inevitable that they will exit at some point.

I was not aware the ownership changed hands, I was under the impression the owners are the same as they have always been.

We don't know if ownership has changed hands, just as we don't know the specific reasons why the site has been performing so poorly for almost two years now, starting out a little bad and gradually getting worse and worse. In the thread and throughout this time, many people have been speculating about the reasons, and one recurring possibility that has been mentioned is that the site may have changed hands. This seems plausible to me, but we don't know anything for sure.

And this is a clear example why we are advised to always be happy and thankful no matter the type of situation we find ourself, because that situation could have been worst.. I am happy for you that you are happy now knowing that what you assumed was a wrong decision turned out to be one of the best decisions you've made in crypto so far..

I also was very angry and totally disappointed in both freebitco and myself for the loses I incurred when I had no choice but to sell off my fun tokens like 2 or three years ago when the token kept losing value, and was panicking that if I dont sell it at that time, I may end up getting nothing out of it, I sold at a great loss and afterwards, the token pumped and I wished I still held, but today, I am grateful for selling the tokens off that day, for by now, the worth would have been as bad as zero.

Personally, I am not waiting for some day, I don't want to wait for some day, but I really want to know what happened right now if there was a way to know.

99.9% sure it did. It would honestly surprise me if it DIDN'T due to many different reasons. The only alternative is that the actual running of the site changed hands. I can guarantee one or both of those are true though.

Though not also sure as well, but I will put down every dime I have to bet on my believe the site did for sure changed hands as suggesting or speculated by many of us here..
My specific reason for this believe being that those who represented the initial management of this site on this forum, in the person of wetsuits and the other dude, stopped being active here on this forum around exactly same time and like a week to two later, the site started having issues where as no one was here to assist users in resolving the issues being complained about the time..

The first of many issues back then being that some users deposited to the casino and never got their deposit credited, some others withdrawing had their fund sent to another address entirely different from the one they provided while placing their withdrawal order, and in the midst of this issues, there were no customer cares any where to answer or assist users, this was how it all started back in late 2023.

This seems plausible to me, but we don't know anything for sure.
Learning about the website going in to gradual and consistent decline means it is definitely a possibility it has changed ownership.

I just can’t believe it’s the same people, that’s all.
If they sold the Freebitcoin business, they should have made an announcement. If it was sold to a new owner, I think they previous owners should have announced it otherwise it would be a dereliction of duty.

When Bustabit was sold, the previous owner announced the sale to inform customers about the date the switch would take place and introduced the new owner to his customers. I think that would have been the appropriate manner to have conducted business.

Did anybody make a post asking their forum representative if the business had changed ownership?

Though not also sure as well, but I will put down every dime I have to bet on my believe the site did for sure changed hands as suggesting or speculated by many of us here..
My specific reason for this believe being that those who represented the initial management of this site on this forum, in the person of wetsuits and the other dude, stopped being active here on this forum around exactly same time and like a week to two later, the site started having issues where as no one was here to assist users in resolving the issues being complained about the time..

It would have been nice for the community if they had at least taken the time to explain what happened to freebitcoin before leaving. But instead of explanations from wetsuit and TheQuin, we were left with false hopes. One of these false hopes was that they then created a support account(CSFBC), which they eventually seemed to abandon.

'CSFBC' had stated that there is no change of ownership and management when everyone was showing concerns about it. He had stated it 6 months ago.

You are having a wrong assumption here. Those negative feedbacks were given to those 4 users by '16xypjnxlrew'. Those 4 users haven't given feedback to anyone on the same day. The user (16xypjnxlrew) had already explained the matter to you. But you are still having the wrong assumption.

hmmm... I went back there and understood... That's what the '16... Sent... I missed my attention, it's a lot., I'm not going to erase my mistake, but I understood that I'm very wrong.... But that doesn't mean that everything is fine... just for them not to come here to say anything... it's very wrong, what is the use here then, just to say what is happening and nothing is solved and more and more people will get here through the link they have on their page...

But there are other possible reasons why they disappeared suddenly. Maybe they had problems with the law and so they went to stealth mode - there was evidence for such problems e.g. in Australia and The Netherlands. This would perfectly explain the fact that they never came back here again.
In the end we don’t have a clue why this happened. Changed ownership is only one possibility.

They will surely made an announcement if they encounter this problem because it’s a valid reason to stop their operations rather this on and off with withdrawal.

The support sometimes post an announcement which is a sign that they are still operating in slow phase instead of encountering legal problem.

It’s more on the website is not profitable anymore for them due to bloated number of interest being paid to players in addition with the faucet rewards.

Often a company is sold in parts to enable liquidity in the position it might not have been all at once or even a total sale now.
I just wonder why buy something but not look after it, theres a cost to maintaince I guess but you lose more by just letting it drift at sea and everyone thinking the worst.   Im sure something more productive can be done and that should continue to be an option even if we got no clue.

The super ironic thought that occured to me earlier is that the faucet pay for example is tiny fraction of what it used to be in the hundreds of sat every hour.  Im aware it scaled to price but also generally the case is the burden of the faucet got far less (nominally) and the website should be reaping a reward from being a long term player not suffering.
I bet they have growth in users and revenue alongside BTC itself gaining (alot) over the years, so what gives, they got a positive base line to their business surely.  Maybe someone vital got very ill, it happens we are all human but it would be best to say so.

I found some interesting information that for some reason FBC doesn't seem to want people to read.

https://freebitco.in/tos/

I'm going to list some of the more notable things I found here:
  • One of the first terms listed is that by simply using the website at all, in any form, you agree to be bound by the terms.  Legally, this is on very shaky ground because the Terms of Service aren't linked to on the website at all (I checked).  It also doesn't seem to present people with any way to actually read the terms before signing up at all, or provide any sort of consent like clicking an "I Agree" checkbox or anything, so I don't think this TOS would hold up in a lawsuit.
  • They go to great lengths to specify that the default language of the website is English, and that the English version of the TOS is the primary one.  However, later in the TOS, they insist that you are not to use the site if you're physically located in the United States or the UK, the two most prominent places that English-language sites get their traffic from.  They also provide absolutely zero forms of IP blocking (in the US at least).  These terms were added in July of 2023, which is probably long after a lot of us signed up.  This is probably how they're going to try and get away with it.  Any time anyone from America (or the UK, or France, or anywhere else prohibited by the TOS) tries to sue after the inevitable rugpull, they'll argue that the plaintiff being on the website in the first place is a TOS violation, even though the user was probably not even given the opportunity to read or agree to the TOS.  Will this work?  Probably not, if it gets into a courtroom.
  • They also mention that they will try to give customers "reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal" of site services, so if they do shut down soon and don't announce it beforehand, they're going back on their supposedly "legally binding agreement".  So even if this does turn out to be a legally binding and enforceable agreement, they might be on the hook for breach of contract if they shut down without warning.  Considering that they've pretty clearly "suspended or withdrawn" the service of crediting people's withdrawals, without any sort of announcement of what they're doing or why, they may already be on the hook for this.  If the TOS is a legally binding contract, anyone who's signed up outside of those banned countries can sue for breach of contract if the inability to withdraw over the past nearly two months has caused them actual financial damage (which it very likely has).  If the TOS isn't a legally binding contract, then they're on the hook for a whole lot of more exciting stuff.  Basically, if someone decides to bring legal action, this is gonna be fun.
  • Another interesting part of their TOS that they're not honoring is that, if you submit a complaint, they promise to "ensure that we will write to you within eight weeks from the date we receive your claim or dispute, either with a final answer or a position update, explaining why we are not in position to provide a final answer, and when we hope to be able to do it."  Has anyone gotten the kind of response to a customer complaint that they promise here?  Something to keep an eye out on.
Disclaimer, I might be wrong about some or all of this because I'm not a legal expert, just a guy who knows how to Google stuff like "when is a website's tos unenforceable" and "can you sue a website for violating their own tos".  Anyone more versed in this sort of stuff than I am can feel free to correct me on any of this.

I have a new theory for what freebitcoin is doing now ON OUR MACHINES.

I work with visual studio, 3D apps.

Now, when google chrome is open, freebitcoin is using my windows processes more than usual.

I think freebitco is MINING BITCOIN without our consent — to generate revenue — when the freebitcoin's tab is open.

My softwares are freezing, and it's a high end PC.

When I shut down the internet and close google chrome, the problem disappears.

It seems it is mining bitcoin using our computers, to genrerate revenue again.
I think they're doing that for months, since 2024, when that problem happened.

Is there some genious computer "prodigee" who can check if that is right?
