Bitcoins don’t commit crimes, people do. So, the answer is no. Millions of people, including me, would already be in trial or in jail if owning one is a crime.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Owning a bitcoin is not a crime.Owning a bitcoin is a miracle specially to us poor people, miracle because it can changes some aspects of our life the way of living in terms of financial status, social life and we can't deny that in terms of relationship status with relatives also.I wish I have a bitcoin in my wallet now.

true, how can it be a crime when owning a bitcoin because it can help people especially those who are jobless and unfortunate one. it is rather ab opportunity for us all. an opportunity that is too good to be true.

Sir, I don't see any country that defines Bitcoin as a crime. If the state promulgates an Act that owns Bitcoin is a crime, how does the country know that we have Bitcoin? The Bitcoin network is not a real name.

There is no reason that bitcoin is called a crime, if you have a bitcoin hold today a blessed person because of your diet bitcoin you can change your life in the future.

I don't think owning a bitcoin is a crime, infact if you own a bitcoin you are so lucky because bitcoin is considered as money when you convert it into cash, not only a small amount but big amount of money is what we are talking when bitcoin is involved.

well, it depends on how your country reacts on bitcoin, if its illegal in your country maybe it can be called as crime but I think there were already laws that prohibit the use of bitcoin.. But it doesnt mean that you can compare the bitcoin with the use of gun.. they were on different aspects. Bitcoin can make our lives better..guns can make our lives miserable.

It's kind of exaggerated to think like that. Crime can be called crime if you did something against the law, in this case holding bitcoin will be considered as a crime if it is illegal or if bitcoin itself is illegal or banned. However, I didn't hear anything saying that holding bitcoin is illegal so I do not think that it is. Remember, it is not the thing which makes everyone a criminal, but the will of the person whether to do it or not. Actually, it is a lifesaver and it is not fair to be called as crime cause it helps a lot of people to get out of poverty.

How can owning a bitcoin become a crime if you use it responsibly? It can be used to finance illegal transactions like payments for guns and weapons and payments for drugs but if you do away with this illegal acts then you are committing no crime.

I guess if our country doesn't allow bitcoin as a legal thing, we still use bitcoin by secretly because we know that bitcoin can give us another way to make money which we really need. but I don't think that to own bitcoin is a crime because people have the right to do with his money and maybe he only wants to buy bitcoin and then he wants to save it in his wallet and not use for another thing. and maybe our country doesn't give any statement about bitcoin so we can use it for free.

It depends on how you use your bitcoin  ,  bitcoin is not illegal  .
Bitcoin is helpful to those who need sideline or jobs like me , everyone is responsible upon their acts. So it's not a crime. The one who owned it ,who use it in bad way is the sinner.

Investing in bitcoin and holding is not a crime. Remember that owning it means you have possession. Just like in other things that you owned having them is a great thing and personal stuff. Bitcoin is a blessing and will never be athe crime unless you used it for illegal transaction. But as long as bitcoin is being used in a good way it will never be a crime to owned it.

Your right! I also agree that having a bitcoin is not a crime, because eventhough its anonymous, you are working for it to gain or to have bitcoin. In investing also you have shared your money though you don't know when is the value of bitcoin back to its normal price. It can be called a crime if its stoles a money, but I did not heard any complain about it, so therefore bitcoin is very safe and not a crime.

That's a silly question. I think like most currencies, Bitcoin is legal.
But maybe it depends on the state you live.
I think that in China they not allowed to use Bitcoin, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think owning Bitcoin isn't a crime. because Bitcoin is payment tools isn't a drug.
crime or not of Bitcoin depends on the person who uses it.
Users can be killers but Bitcoin is not. There should be no doubt that Bitcoin is almost legal in most countries and taking benefit from this Digital currency but only few countries banned it due to raise the popularity of their own currencies. They consider it bad for people as they think that Bitcoin can be used by money launderers and criminals but actually they are driving towards negativity. They do not want their people to take profit from this opportunity. But at the end they will realize that their thoughts and experiences were all wrong about Bitcoin.

No owning bitcoin is not a crime. Its depend on where you get or how to earn the Bitcoin.
If you get it from by criminal crime like drug dealing. This bitcoin holding will be crime. If you ask how it’s measure, the transaction of the footprint prove it. So owning bitcoin is not crime. You have the right to be rich but if you earn it from illegal way it must be crime. If you have bad intention and earn the bitcoin from illegal way that bitcoin will be the part of illegal coin though the coin proven or not.

You know bitcoin is the safe way for criminal because there has less possibility to catch by the police. Maybe that’s the reason some of the country ban Bitcoin because they only realize only the bad side.

Owning bitcoin is a crime. Are you kidding? Governments in many countries now recognise the legitimacy of bitcoin and accept it. If you think criminals are using bitcoin for a crime, it's illegal to think that bitcoin is illegal. If criminals use legal money to commit crimes, is it illegal and the answer is no.
