Bitcoin is too big too be replaced. Developer and whole bitcoin community will make updated and upgrade the wallet to the latest technology. I believe in this...too much money pouring in to bitcoon already. It will not obsolete. The best move is only hard fork like bcash did.

there are lots of good coins that is much better than bitcoin and these coins do actually have a potential to replace bitcoin in the near future. few examples that i can think of is: etherium , bitcoincash , waves , ripple , etc Bitcoin is too big too be replaced. i dont see any updates happenning to bitcoin aside from segwit/hardforks that happened a long time ago but that didnt fix any issues regarding on bitcoin. that event only causes a new coin to born which is bitcoincash. Bitcoin do still need a lot of improvements but i think devs didnt really care about this problems. |

Not sure if the thing that will replace bitcoin is invented yet. Even if it has been, we're not yet aware. We will know in the future, only thing we can do for now is to speculate and demand. If bitcoin is replaced by something that will be done by us, this community. So, what do you think bitcoin lacks and what can be done about it?
Bitcoin lack is slow transaction. If we compare to other, bitcoin transaction is very slow that make people never send bitcoin if not a must. The people prefer to send other altcoin like Etherium or Litecoin to get quick transaction and small fee for sending it. So maybe that reason make many speculation to replace bitcoin. |

maybe its impossible to replace bitcoin because its the mother of all coin, as we know alt coins existed because of bitcoin, maybe other coin will get close to bitcoin but no one coin could replace bitcoin because bitcoin is very popular in the market and it has many uses nowadays, and as we know ethereum is the next popular coin other than bitcoin. maybe this ethereum will get close to bitcoin but it will never pass over bitcoin. because sometimes eth will get high when bitcoin gets pumped.

I think for a while there is no coin that can compete bitcoin bitcoin is the best currency in which in the movement ini the market is always followed by other currencies and bitcoin still lead

but the possibility is very small, as agan said that btc be the benchmark or benchmark the value of altcoin, if the value of btc rise and fall then altcoin will follow it

I think nothing will replace bitcoin because you also know the parent bitcoin of all altcoin and altcoin first in the world and so I am sure there will be no altcoin that replaces bitcoin because to replace bitcoin is also very difficult

No one of us can say how long bitcoin will stay and for me it take a long term before bitcoin will replace of any coin. As of now Bitcoin is the foundation of Cryptocurrency it's hard for all of us to tell that someday bitcoin will never exist.

Why there are people who are such in a hurry of replacing bitcoin? Can't you think and cherish these moments that bitcoin is dominating the scene?
We can't say that it can be easily replaced by another coin but the most important part of it is that bitcoin is the first starter of cryptocurrency. To tell you in short, bitcoin is the origin of crypto's so why it would be replaced?

I don't think of most currencies as asset yet because bitcoin is exchangeable to Fiat in many countries including mine and also most exchange are trading with BTC p2p with other coins and the fact that the security involved is very high, BITCOIN will forever lead the way

No one will know yet until bitcoin disappear. Every alt can definitely take over bitcoins, it will be a matter of how. If one coin can take advantage of the needs of every investors it will be the one to replace bitcoin.
Tha's true. However, I still believe that Bitcoin will not disappear. Simply it might become not as powerful cryptocurrency as now. Ethereum can become the leader. |

The nearest coin to bitcoin is now ETH. But I doubt that it can become as important and strong as Bitcoin. Today, bitcoin has no competitors.

Every altcoin is adopted to cause reason for something in the market but it seems bitcoin is the master coin followed by all new coins.
I personally believe that cryptocurrency market was known for bitcoin and whenever new comers are taught about crypto, they must start with bitcoin education

As i have observed, Ethereum holds the second largest market cap in cryptoworld next to bitcoin. Litecoin also believed to replace Ethereum and eventually bitcoin. That's is why, i have read many crypto comparisons in this forum like comparing BTC and ETH, BTC and LTC, and ETH and ETC as well.

I give my preference. I give the etherium in any case. It seems to me that his actions are confirmed by the demand and constant use of this coin to pay for the transaction. I think that this is a strong argument in favor of the etherium. |

There is no one who could really tell what alt-coin would take over the Bitcoin right now,
But for sure it wouldn't happen right now or in the next couple of years I am sure that Bitcoin would remain the main crypto currency.
