There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Perhaps a creative way to get listed on a centralised exchange is for a mining pool to set aside a portion of their 'fee' to be used as a fundraiser for a particular exchange? And for users to also have the choice to donate to this fund (in case they aren't miners)?

Even if it is just 0.5% of their mining pool fee, it could get enough momentum to get on some mid sized exchanges. Would also be a win for the mining pool to attract new miners, who want to help build ravencoin while doing something they would be doing anyway (that is, mining).

It would need to have transparency behind it, where people can independently verify that the pool fee is going to a fund, which will be used for a specific exchange who has publicly agreed to list Ravencoin once the relevant funds are raised.

Just a thought Smiley

That is actually a great idea ...

We would be happy to do so for our new Pyroxene (theMINE) platform for RavenCoin (http://pyroxene.chainworksindustries.com/).

We need to maintain our 0.7% for the pool, but if we up the percentage, anything over and above the 0.7% fee will be put aside in a unique RVN cold wallet, and when and agreed amount is reached, we can trade them off for the amount required for the inclusion into another exchange. Our pools are new and on new servers, so we would need a number of miners moving in to do such a thing, but we will keep that wallet as a 'CWI Community Wallet' which cannot be touched for any other use.

Let us know if anyone would be behind this method and if so, we could start it as immediately as community consensus allows.

#crysx

It's a shame not more people are enthusiastic about this idea or something similar. It feels like everyone is willing to mine a coin or argue why the price should be higher or what the devs are doing right/wrong, but when it comes to giving a little something back for the mutual benefit of everyone, there just isn't much momentum.

Anyway, another way to support Ravencoin could be through Binance's community coin of the month. Binance are currently taking nominations for this month and if Ravencoin is included now or at a later date I'll be voting for it.

My RVN deposit at CB is still stuck after a couple of days, but they did fix my other, bigger deposit today. So at least they're working on it, albeit slowly Smiley

Well ...

We are happy to keep our standard 0.7% we have as a fee, and willing to put aside 2.5% of that fee for the allocation of exchange funds. This is NOT community funds, but funds that CWI will be willing to put towards the cost of the inclusion for a more solid exchange system. No one else has been mining on our pool, except for our internal theFARM components from time to time, so we will clear the 'fee'amount from the wallet, and anything that is added there will be used for this.

We can remove the funds into a wallet we create that people can easily see on the block explorer. which will be removed from the pool wallet to the storage wallet every xx amount of days.

Any other ideas, we are happy to explore with you all.

We like Cryptopia - but that is always debatable and up to the community.

Well we need someone from the core team to apply for coin of the month:

How to nominate your coin/token:

Application deadline: 2018/06/15 4:00 AM (UTC).
Please fill in the Community Coin Application form. We have a strict screening process. If you are not a core team member of the coin, please kindly ask a member of the project core team to make the request.  If your coin/token is not selected for this month, feel free to apply again in the next round.
Create an entry for your coin/token on Binance Info (info.binance.com) and fill out all relevant information.

If you check coinmarketcap, the vast majority of cryptobridge's trade are ravencoin only.

Keep the systems up and running must be difficult when a lot more people suddenly come onto your exchange. I recall cryptopia having massive issues with keeping up with demand, and closing their wallets for maintenance for some coins for over a month. During that time the price of one particular coin tanked as it was the only relatively large exchange that listed the coin.

You would think cryptopia would do better given they charge around 200k for a listing! But they seem to be getting a little better now.

RVN developers at the moment do not consider themselves as "core team" standing behind the project + there is no one to provide legal stuff required by Binance... :/

SO RVN.. NO CEO, NO ICO, NO PRE MINE, NO PUMP AND DUMP....feels like BTC back in the day.... Im not sure who put this together, but thank you for making a platform that is neutral, easy, and gives a sense of community share. Raven Coin seems to be the new norm.

Really? I'm sure there is a 'core team' that stands behind this project. Otherwise there would be limited ways for it to develop further!

It's great having a community driven coin, but you still need someone to steer the ship - for reasons like applying for exchange listings, delivering against white paper milestones and so on.

Is it just my Portofolio or did Raven outpace every other coin on this last rebounce?
Seems I was right to stop selling my mined coins! Grin I was selling 25% and holding 75% of my mined coins but I felt that anything under 360 satoshi is a steal, so I holded 100% !
