Because the market is down, I could say inbesting in atcoins are way better compared to investing in Ico. The reason is because you no longer need to wait more than the one who invested in ICO to see a price increase. In addition, there are lot of coins that their prices is lower than what is in ICO.

Not really. Unless you have the necessary skill and capital to trade altcoins on a daily basis, it's probably not the safest way to put your money.

However, it can definitely be profitable, but obviously that is what comes with a pretty big risk. If you are willing to take on that risk, then I believe that currently holding certain altcoins for the long run can be profitable.

Note that I said certain altcoins, you need to do your research before you invest. Although I believe the crypto market will continue to bloom in the future, a lot of bad projects will get less and less attention, and its value will suffer in the long run.

Pesonally, I do not like investing a lot of money in alt coins as it is not reliable. I prefer to invest in bitcoins as it is much safer and trusted by many.
