The title of this thread is bit provocative, but the fact is that most people have a bad experience with airdrops. According to several airdrop hunters I spoke to, the majority ICOs don't pay out at all.

What's your experience with airdrops? Did you get scammed most of the times?
I think the problem is much deeper. Most people are involved in Airdrop to earn easy$ 1-5 by spending 2 minutes on It. People have no interest in the project, they are not interested, and what is the purpose of the project, and you need what it offers, and whether there is experience with the team? In addition, many projects honestly pay tokens, but do not go to the exchange and they become useless. Is worth whether someone to blame in your unjustified hopes, if you for a Cup of tea clicked 2 button and for this not received an award. When it comes to bounty, it is a different level of problem and there is something to discuss and to regulate at the legislative level.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I joined some of airdrops as long as it attracts me. But, I don't really worry at all if it will end up being a scam, since we just need to sign up and do few stuff. What do we expect? Remember, it's a free coins. So, I dont really focus on airdrops rather I prefer trading which is more secure and you'll be able to keep in track also.

scammer sees airdrop as a good source of money to fool or trick others. but why do airdrop hunters continue to join even though it does not pay because it is free.  what you you spend is a minimal time and effort. i have joined airdrop and some pay and some are not and some have value and some have not. just don't give your personal info and you will be safe.

I have got scammed once. This is the fact that most of them are scam, right. Yet, if you read the whitepaper and learn about people behind the ICO, you might figure it out.

100% are scams! That kind of nonsense. Yes, there are scammers, but be able to look at more than 2 variables. There are normal projects, there are scammers, and there are those who, amid the rapid development of companies, began to raise funds for useless ideas that instantly evaporate.

Well, not really. There are some good ones, for example the only way you could get ODIN token is through airdrop and it will hit exchanges soon and be really valued.

There's a lot of crap that pays 1$ worth of tokens but also projects that give 10, 20, 50$ worth of tokens with decent projects behind them.

Don't expect to fill out a form and receive 100$, do a bit of research and you'll see what's worth your time and what is not.

Well, this your assertion is just hasty generalization and misiguided opinion.  There are airdropI participated in the past that are still standing I don't  know why you made this negative comment about airdrop but I know not all of them are scam

Something similar to others! I am also not getting many airdrop payments and many times the bounty itself becomes the scam and pays for nothing at all. I am pretty sure that they do this out of profit-loss scenario whereas if some ICO is giving away free coins then ultimately its funds will be distributed freely into such campaigns. Later on they come to conclusion that they cant repay that much amount and turn to be scammers. Thats the theory behind this type of marketing and it never ever works as fine as that one.

I do know that these kind of bounties always turn as scam one but there are some exclusive examples where people has got lucky and earned more than they should have been! I mean this is why I like trying out my luck in them and keep enrolling myself over there.

Not all airdrops are scam. Maybe the ICO is also a scam that's why they didn't gave you anything or maybe they are not listed in any exchanges at all that's why it becomes worthless. Airdrops are used by companies so that their community will grow by giving people free money.

No, this is only 2018 current condition. If I compare with last year (2017) there are many legit airdrops. Like BLUE, ELTCOIN, EREAL, BITWHITE, REBL, and many more. So, I can say 2018 is the worst time for airdrop. I think the last Airdrop which gives good token was POLYMATH.

Exactly most airdrops this year are all garbage not like in the previous year.  Scammers are riding the crypto trend to get some loads of emails and build a group in telegram or on their social media accounts.

At the moment it is so, but it all started recently because projects can not collect their own budget which they planned and because of this projects become without money!

Most tokens have a risk of being scam because they are mainly promise of a future product!  Do your research so you do not waste time getting useless tokens.

Well on my experience they do actually payout, I haven't encountered yet any airdrops that didn't give me a reward as per instructed but most of these airdrops tokens appears to be of no value at all even some of my tokens that I have been holding for  months from aidrops are if not yet registered in the market, has very low price that is not even worth trading.

Many airdrops are true because they carry such actions to get information about us and our mails.
