Thank you dear Mr. Stackeholder, what a generous move!!  Cheesy

This is so cool!

I think we would all appreciate if more big stakeholders did what 7017504655955743955 has done today, especially top 50 accounts which are all from 5 million to 50 million NXT.

To them to spread 100,000 like 7017504655955743955 did would be nothing but this would show even more greatness of this community and this project.

In the end, doing something like this would just raise the worth of NXT in a long run and paradoxically their main stash would be worth much more than this little part that they have possibly disbursed to this hard working community.

Just something to think about.

Once again BRAVO for 7017504655955743955!!

It would be nice if there was a multisend feature in the client. If I could line up all the addresses of hard working nxt'ers and one-click send a given amount, say 1000nxt (as in each would get 1000) I'd be very inclined to give more regular donations in just this way. Sitting at the computer and putting in 50 or how ever many transactions is a PITA.

So it was you buybitcoinsCanada? The raeason for these donation was Canada gold medal in hockey?  Grin

You know how I know BCNext is not a native English speaker?  A native English speaker never would have used the word "forge" positively in connection with currency.

+1000.  This is a real problem for anybody learning about NXT for the first time.  There is a valid and legitimate use in English for "forger" as being "one who heats and works metal", like a blacksmith.  But the FAR MORE COMMON use of "forger" in English is "one who creates fake documents, particularly financial ones".

Or he has a very good understanding of english and knows the double-entendre very well.

I doubt that any double-entendre has been in anyone's mind. Smiley
Is it too late to name the concepts again?
These names has been commented earlier, too. Eg. forgery has only negative meanings.

I doubt it also - but I do think we can address the Sybil attack vector much as with "hallmarking".

I am only trying to *help* but for sure my idea might not be the best one.

In the end we'll end having 1'000'000'000 IP addresses coz a guy with 5172 NXT will create 5172 accounts. So in the end we'll come back to the beginning.

Edit: A good name for this project has just come to my mind - Uroboros.  Cheesy

so what is the best solution?

adding value to nxt with usefull tools, increasing transaction/block ratio 100-1000 fold will solve this automatically.
in addition with a higher nxt price and pool leased forging you get the best result for smaller accounts.
at the end it is just a question of price/#transactions per block relation and this relation needs a vibrant usage,
driven by innovative tools. atm there is no other coin/platform providing this shear amount of functionality as nxt do.
all we have todo the next weeks is to bundle them into usefull real world applications for the user.

All this talk about forging... Roll Eyes

...

But here's my future prediction:

I can imagine in the future where companies built on-top of NXT will actually want to pay very small fees to thousands of decentralized super-nodes (high bandwidth service providers) to do the forging to secure the network for them and enable 1000+ TPS. Because companies are paying the fees, users will have to pay 0 fees. Perhaps add in hashcash to reduce spam somewhat.

The simple mistake of confusing forgery and forging is being made here. Very different.

A native english speaker would differentiate easily, and the double-entendre would be found amusing - but you need to be careful when translating....

few letter's difference and only in the end Smiley
... when new, not-so-familiar-with-the-English-grammar, people are coming to NXT, clear concepts may be safest. If they have heard "forge" and "forgery" in the relationship with fake etc, and then they see NXT docs, where is "forge", then some suspicion may arise.

I'm not a native speaker and never had trouble with the forging part.

The only thing that bugged me is that you don't forge precious metals. You cold hammer them, mostly or you cast them. :p

If you're using GNU/Linux you can use this:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
# sndnxt.sh 20140223 -- send NXT to multiple addresses.

if [ $# -ne 3 ]; then
  echo "Usage: ${0##*/} 'passphrase' amount file_of_addresses"
  exit 1
fi
passphrase="$(perl -MURI::Escape -e 'print uri_escape($ARGV[0])' "$1")"; shift
amount=$1; shift
for nxtaddr in $( cat "$1" ); do
  echo "sending $amount to $nxtaddr"
  curl -s "http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=sendMoney&secretPhrase=$passphrase&recipient=$nxtaddr&amount=$amount&fee=1&deadline=1440" >> /dev/null
done

exit 0

Just tested it out and it seems to work.
