Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Quick question...

Why does BCnext refuse to communicate furthermore with the community?  Is he trying to take the footsteps of Satoshi?  This causes a lot of skepticism as, if everyone's money were to disappear one day, we would have nobody to point fingers at and direct responsibility if on the 3rd  "innovative features" do not actually exist, and price drops to 0?

anyone can make a guide on HOW rent and set up a VPS for newbies?

Step 1) Sign up for digitalocean.com

Step 2) Once signed up you can fund your account

$5 covers 1 month of computing for 1 server.
but the $10 with 1 GB RAM vps is better and more stable, so better get that one if not too money pressed.

Step 3) Create your first droplet

Step 3a) Set the hostname to whatever you like

Step 3b) Select the $5 or $10 a month option

Step 3c) Select "Debian 7.0 x64" which is Debian under the Linux Distributions tab
Once created, you will receive an email with the IP address, username, and password.

Once you've accomplished this, pm me.

or actually, let me try to think how you can set it up by yourself.

thanks man, if you can make a guide on how set up a node without give my login details to other ones, it will be awesome (no offence!)

How many times can a NXT coin be divided into?
same like Bitcoin, but its not yet active...
So could you send very very small amounts of NXT and still be viable because you don't have to pay any fees? With BTC, you cant do this because in microtransactions the fee is bigger than the small amount you are sending.

you can send any fee you want, now 1 NXT , in future 0.001 nxt
Only 2 decimals will be added to support the colored coins feature..

the network is decentralized and even if BTCnext vanishes the community will still support the soft... think think think!!! before posting

It is the total opposite in my view.  Why do you believe it is necessary for price to drop for coins to spread, while development takes place?  I personally did not witness any buying hesitation during the Alias launch yesterday.  Would you have made that claim before the attack?

It is as if you are forecasting a negative outcome and/or inferring that NXT does not deserve a high price.  That mode of thinking is only appropriate if you were to buy a Put option.  Who knows... maybe some exchange offers Put options one day, but I would definitely not buy one!!!   Wink

I mean... look at how many people are automatically willing to set up servers just because one problem arose.

The only thing can kill Nxt - bad design in distribution of coins. I support everything that helps to spread the coins.

Agree with you 100%, but when is the decentralised exchange going to be released?  And, when it's released, how is it going to avoid DDOS?

Planned by the end of Jan. To DDoS the exchange an adversary must DDoS the whole network.

Edit: Actually, we r waiting for client. Server part is ready.

Wait.  Isn't this things P2P and, therefore, there is no client server.  Can you please explain?

I'm not a founder, however:

- I'm willing to spend a $100 a month to help protect it
- My time is limited, I'd pay if someone was willing to configure
- I bet there are other members in the community that are in a similar boat

"Server" = that java thingie with black ugly window.
"Client" = Anything with good looking interface that talks to the server to get data from.

This is P2P, don't worry.

Yes... but did you see anybody hesitating buying at 60% higher prices yesterday?

I don't pay much attention to the price. The only thing that worries me is that how many decimal places should be added after the point to keep it affordable to send transactions.
