Disagree. Actual needed amount depends on goal. Set up goal, only then do the math.

delete everything.

download
http://files.nxtbase.com/nrs-0.4.7e.zip

add this string to WellKnownPeers in web.xml

162.243.214.68; 95.85.46.164; 162.243.216.55; 162.243.143.15; 95.85.46.249; 93.190.92.74; 37.209.120.192; 93.190.92.75; 85.25.134.59; 93.190.92.76; vps1.nxtcrypto.org;  vps2.nxtcrypto.org;  vps3.nxtcrypto.org;  vps4.nxtcrypto.org;  vps5.nxtcrypto.org; nxtwallet.com; 31.220.50.208; nxt.ddos.me; 203.174.12.25; 88.198.142.92; 66.197.138.90; 64.120.180.106; 109.230.224.65; 80.86.92.50; node1.nextcoin.it; node2.nextcoin.it; node3.nextcoin.it; node4.nextcoin.it; node5.nextcoin.it; nxt.homer.ru; 31.204.130.123; 209.222.0.194; 209.222.16.10;

I'm not sure if I deleted everything but...
I deleted the nxt folder I had and replaced with yours, before booting added that string to the wellknownpeers.

Still only on block 24225.

Did I do something wrong?

Did I do something wrong?

Maybe you did, we're all human and make mistakes Smiley

Seriously, it's as easy as that, try again if it doesn't work, Idk. It works for me. But yeah, it's all still rough and needs a lot of polishing to do before many people can use it.

But I saw earlier we are getting a new exchange by Monday, so that would help spread the load a bit! (And have a higher combined uptime)

really? dgex is moving to a faster platform or a second exchange?

Quote
I'm finalizing a NXT-BTC exchange platform at https://ecash.io. It should go live before monday. It will offer 2FA / withdrawal SMS notification / and cloudflare business-class DDOS protection. Will keep you posted once it goes live. Server will run an Armory watch-only Bitcoin wallet. No funds on the server, everything is cold storage.

From ~3-4 pages ago. Don't know how legit it is, but interesting nonetheless.

I don't know, maybe you guys missed it, but I already made a script that updates your known nodes lists automatically. Probably been overlooked, there at the end of the page.

I put in the nodes that are posted here and also those from PMs periodically.

Automatic Public Nodes Update Script

I just wrote a simple python script that fetches a list of public servers I collect in a text file and puts them into the NXT server config. This is the node file.

You can get the script from my node server.

Usage is quite simple. The only prerequisite is to have a symlink to the config file (web.xml) in the NXT rootdir:

Code:
~/nxt$ ln -s webapps/root/WEB-INF/web.xml configfile

I find this more elegant than drilling down into the dir explicitly. If you do not like this very much, alter the configFilename variable in the script.

When ready, just start the script:

Code:
python updatePublicNodes.py

Hope this reduces some hassle for node admins.

How exactly do you add this? You don't make the very clear IMO.

Save the linked script to your NXT server directory, navigate to that dir in a terminal, create the symlink, then run the script.

thanks for the detailed guide, updating web.xml works now.

why is the 4.7 ver shipped with the nodes already in the .xml file and everyone needs to copy paste? yes its centralized behavior but since client fails on its own..

for some ppl mocking about how difficult it is to edit a text file , you are missing the point

im a unix admin since 1995 (and now a java developer), one could say i am familiar with text files  Grin

expecting users to do this every 2 hours with their clients is insane.

please to deal with the www.dgex.com, it collapse
