Where is the best place to purchase NXT?

http://dgex.com
https://nxtchg.com

I prefer nxtchg since dgex is overloaded and slow on deposits and withdrawals these days. Also I still have some missing funds on dgex due to some weird audit  Huh so I avoid dgex for now. However volumes (and fees) are high on dgex.

Where the guy who was going to create a decentralized poker game? With AM it becomes possible.

Wouldn't that be a very slow poker game tho?

Here sir, less talkie more workie...I went offline for a few days and paid for it by the firehose of a thread that is nxt...I am just catching up

@wesleyh won't be slow, the app is its own network with its own bootstrapping mechanism, auth rules and peer verification..Problem is it will still be centralized in some form in terms of accounting..unless we can get multi-sig, then we can have the network itself authorizing payouts and such...the messaging feature will be used to store information about critical poker app, like its game states...all this is still very conceptual of cause and will be collaborating with people who have pm'd me...i am ironing out the UI with a functional demo without the network security features among other things hopefully a little after nexern's release..

I have a suggestion for nxt (idk if it has been suggested or not) an option for a warning prompt when sending nxt to an address that has never been used on the network so far.

Does NXT plan on having a marketplace?

Also, any plans to regulate this marketplace, like what is, or what is not allowed? Or will it be no rules type marketplace?

I think this question is important to determine the use of NXT and the future price of it..

agree. Something like "Address being sent to has not been used yet. Would you still like to send?" or something like that. If that's even possible.

It is not a big issue, but there is a 1 NXT fee for every transfer. When depositing to peercover it goes to an intermediate address, so it costs 2 NXT for a deposit. I think it is only 1 NXT for withdrawal.

Would there be any objections if this cost was passed onto to the depositors?

As it is peercover is running the NXT gateway on a non-profit basis based on my urgings. I feel it is important to have as many ways to trade NXT as possible. Especially a place that lets you convert to fiat. I have done my best to provide prompt support for everyone who had issues when the NXT server hung. Now that it is running 0.5.3, things do look a lot more stable, so hopefully it can run a full week without any issues. That would be a big improvement.

I am not a peercover support person, I am doing all this so we can have NXT <-> fiat and another place to trade NXT. Thanks to all who patiently waited while we sorted out all the deposits.

Hopefully a client software could implement this. I don't know if any program has yet however.

Does anyone know who is the author of the article ? He should be nominated for a reward in article category.

Hi there Grin Thanks for the kind words. I already got 230k in rewards for work in the nxt community. If there is more to give it should go to others.

I post a few days ago in nexcoin.org that aws.amazon.com cloud gives 1 year free micro t1 VPS
I have a windows one free and now I added onepaid both with slightly more than 600mb ram. It seems that the nxt nodes run ok on them. I don't have them hallmarked but I thought we run as many like them as we could to support the stability.

It costs 0 for 1 year.
Go make accounts in aws.amazon.com and set up a VPS with nxt node.
You need to modify the web.xml
         <param-name>myAddress</param-name>
         <param-value>PUT THE VPS IP HERE</param-value>

Don't put money to fogrge just run nxt client.

Just running nxt node (client) with 0 nxt in it will help the stability right?? or am I confused again!!!!

Would be great if you could write up a guide on getting people up and running on AWS. Windows and Linux.
Bai,

I signed up and I'm at my console home page. How do I set up a VPS? Do I launch an EC2 instance? Which flavor (linux, windows) of Amazon Machine Image should I choose?

Also, has anyone confirmed that this will help nxt network stability?

Why am I doing this when I can't even get my client to run properly? Tongue

I will do Windows set instructions later on tonight. I am with a customer at the moment and cannt do any work on NXT!!

Would be nice if some of the leaders/genii can confirm that this will help the stability of the newtork else its waste of time.

Step by step with images how to install a VPS in amazon:

AWS (aws.amazon.com) consol set up of a windows server to allow NXT running on it. Should be free for 1 year if you run 1 instance only and its t1 micro (at least it is free for me).
Step are the links (images/screenshots) below in chronological order:
They are really every click so its not as bad as it looks!! less than 20 clicks (simpleS)

After you create and connect to the VPS using the remote desktop shortcut you need to set up Firewall Rule on the Server to allow everything for NXT.

DO NOT USE THIS VPS FOR REAL MONEY ACCOUNTS!!
Use them only to put more nodes on the network.

After you set up NXT you need to go in the web.xml file in ....webapps\root\WEB-INF
Open the web.xml and edit the section
         <param-name>myAddress</param-name>
         <param-value>PUT THE VPS IP HERE</param-value>
You can see the IP address in the Remote Desktop Connection Title.

The example VPS that I created is deleted now so there is no point trying to connect to it Smiley

Sorry for the big qoute above but it is free for a year. Have set one up today oh boy having a headache now, but its running alright.

so people set one up its free for one year.

No problem at all with the 1NxT extra fee. Thanks for your great work and running this completely free Smiley

BTW I can also confirm that NxT client v. 0.5.3 is really stable.
