How would you suggest to prevent such things? A guy is walking with a dog and suddenly seeing another dog running on them. What should he do? Unload his .44 into that mothafucker? What if he doesn't have one?

It rarely happens like that - out of nowhere he's on your dog. An owner should keep awareness.
If your dog is little you can pick him up. If not, you can still probably pick him up.
And never trust your or any other dog 100%. These things usually happen because of poor judgment.

But judging by the injuries, Charlie was either very young, or it was a prolonged attack.
That's why I mentioned how to break the bite and pause the aggressor.
But thats all gone. I loved to hear there's some good out of NXT. Fingers crossed for Charlie's recovery!

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

It seems like a very bad idea to suggest people use this form of online wallet!

I suggest to display them single page with big red warning to never ever do it.

Is https://blockchain.info/wallet safe by design?

With blockchain.info, you're still trusting your money to a third party, and they could run off with your coins / get your coins hacked / etc.

But blockchain is run by a company with an extended validation certificate, a large customer base, a valuable brand, etc. Whereas nxtwallet.com is a website on a privacy-backed domain with a self signed cert that could disappear tomorrow taking a few gullible people's keys with it.

I don't think OP had that intention, and it's good that he has now included a big disclaimer in the first post.

Question: how easy is it for people who run public nodes on 7875 and who dont want to give people the opportunity to enter their passphrase to remove the "unlock account" button?

Blockchain.info doesn't work in that way. They don't have access to your private keys, so they can't steal your coins, that is why is the safest online wallet. (but for 100% safety of course always keep your bitcoins in offline wallet)
Of course hackers can take them if the hack you, or if blockchain change his way of working in the future.

Anywhere explained how they could do that? Any links?

Just remember that bandwidth out may exceed the free allowance
The main problem is not bandwidth but IOs. I'm out of 2kk in 5 days

P.S. again recommend DSVPS.1 ($15 yr). My NXT client have 49h uptime now and still working

This is a project that deserves a donation from the fund, not a link aggregator that's just a copy of already finished app for another cryptos, where for some strange reason he didn't need 25 BTC (0.00005 BTC per NXT) to complete and release them - I'm sorry but I had to say something as it seems ridiculous to me (I'm talking about this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=361813.msg4383060#msg4383060 just for NXT Wink)

Don't get me wrong, I understand that the community needs as much projects as possible, I just can't understand why would anyone give so much NXT for this "app" when there are actually other projects that are truly made for the community not just because of a bounty.

To NXT devs and DGEX,
I think every NXT users agree that to distribute NXT into small parts is the most important thing now. So that big invester are dare to put their money in to the market make NXT grow. It will be an obstacle for nxt's development if the original shareowners keep most of the NXT in hand.
In past times, users trade NXT on DGEX.com with low fee and ZERO withdraw fee. This is great cause this encourages NXT users to take the NXT in hand which is good for NXT distribution.
However, now dgex set an extremely high fee on withdraw and trading. This totally block users to trade. You can see the trading amount drop from 1000BTC/day to 100BTC/day.
Hope NXT dev can negotiate with DGEX.

My suggestion:
1. NXT withdraw fee should be 0
2. NXT trading fee 0.05% or lower
3.BTC withdraw a little bit lower (Not that important)

THANKS!

where's the original guy that was working on a whitepaper?

Busy, spending NXTs he got in advance, I think... If Nxt price doesn't rise too fast he'll run out of money in a few months and will complete the work...

Where is rickyjames? Cool

edit: oh yeah on the hunt for visacoin...

Pin

Nope.  I'm trying to get a life.   Besides, that wouldn' t help NXT.  I'm scheming about how to spread the word to many new converts. I've got some ideas.  Stay tuned.

+1. Maco is creating a clone Nxt Android app that he will look the same as several others he's created.  I won't be supporting and I don't like his bounty/hostage mentality either.

Lol.  You know, the most interesting people I ever searched for were my line of paternal grandfathers.  All the way back to 1523 in Scotland - I'm a member of Clan Gunn.  One of them was a 23 year old who crossed the Atlantic in 1673.

Guys, I want maco to get rewarded full for his project from the 13M unclaimed coins.

Someone should create a poll and the community will decide.

Let's be careful with the downloads to newbs. Talk to weslyeh. Maybe we need to set up a getnxt.com with his version checker.

I was walking on the sidewalk with Charlie.  Charlie was 3 3/4 Years old at the time.  The dog ran out of a person's property and went straight for his throat.  It took me, and 4 neighborhood kids to get the dog off of Charlie.

So yes, it was prolonged (lasted 15 or so minutes).  And yes, the dog came out of nowhere.

he makes some good points. i really do believe that bcnext is a really brilliant computer scientist but that code is a clusterfuck. it would be nice if someday we could get some serious software engineers to implement these really good ideas elegantly. in time perhaps.
