What does this mean?

For some people from the west "13" is an unlucky number.
got it, 4 is an unlucky number in China.

I will repeat my idea again as a solution for AM to make it easier to send AM while saving us from spam.

You charge 1 nxt as messaging fee to send AM to an account but allow the sender to resend any amount of messages he wants to that same account within 1440 blocks.

1440 blocks after the 1st msg he has to pay 1 nxt msg fee to send AM again.

If he wants to send to a NEW account he must pay 1 nxt msg to send AM to this NEW account.  After paying this 1 nxt fee he can send any amount of messages to this NEW account for 1440 blocks.

WHY THIS IS GOOD:  Grin

1) It allows you to freely communicate to another account but saves us from spam because its quite stupid to spam the same account & if you want to spam all accounts you have to still pay 1 nxt per msg.

2) To prevent blockchain bloat AM will have time limit in blockchain:

a) 0 nxt fee Arbitrary Msg  == 2 weeks storage in Blockchain

b) 1 nxt fee Arbitrary Msg == 1 month storage

c) 10 nxt fee Arbitrary Msg == 3 months storage

d) 100 nxt fee arbitrary Msg == 6 months storage

- Cheap data storage within our precious blockchain, isn't it? I move the data every month and pay only 2 NXT
- it is too complicated. I don't like it.

Or, another alternative to *destroying* 10M NXT (and this is even more fun!!!)  Automate the account to send a transaction with 0 cost and a fee of 100 once per minute.  Assuming 1440 blocks a day, will be distributed to active forgers over the course of the next 70 days.

Or mix it up a bit, and send some amount to random (real or not?) accounts.

I dunno -- seems like anything is preferable to destruction Cheesy

nice idea buddy ;-)

10e+07 : 15000 accounts = there is an SIGN !!!!

But honestly, if all would focus there minds on creating valuable ideas, we wouldn't need this discussion.

I wouldn't block anything at all. There is no problem to find 10 trusted people.

Looks like idea to block 10 accounts failed. What about sending 1M to 10 accounts without changes in the code?

I support no modification to code. Send to 10 or even 1 person is fine with me.

Why it's so important to decide and to it right now what to do with that 10M. Everything goes just fine! Let's just go with the flow.

Does anybody have a great idea? Let's vote if it should be done and then vote how much we should spend on it. What can be easier?

Somebody suggested to make a photoshoot with girls to advertise Nxt. Let's do it. Share ideas of the photoshoot, draw sketches etc. Then vote for the best idea and size of a bounty. And so on with the rest of unclaimed money.

I have something similar in mind. It is like a concept of "open bounty". Anyone can step up and present his/ her idea, propose a bounty and let the community decides. So we continue the tradition of asking for bounties in a decentralized fashion as we have been already doing in nextcoin and nxtcrypto forums so far. But now funding would be a bit easier to come by since we have common pool in addition to private donors's fund.

This will work easier when we have the voting system in place. A person presents his/ her idea, propose a bounty and action plan, and set up a vote. Community can ask questions in the meantime and when the voting is over, the project will be funded if the vote passes the majority. A democratic and decentralized method of funding projects.

We can even implement this type of "open bounty" even when the voting system is not yet in place. In fact, we actually did it one time already with the case of Maco's android app as the overwhelming majority refused to fund his 500K NXT request for his app. So we actually had a precedent in place already. Let's continue the funding process in this type of decentralized fashion instead of giving one person/ or group the authority of giving out the funds.

utopianfuture has the right idea. Anon is a good person to control the NXT if BCNext & CfB are sick of that duty and anon is willing.

It will be hard for community to raise donations in the future from anybody if you destroy 1% now. That is crazy idea IMO.

No person is good enough. It's just too risky. What if I know him in person and steal the money while we're watching football game and drinking beer in his house. The money should be divided.

But as 1 of 10 - absolutely.

So we want to find another 10 guys like anon (or clone anon 10 times), or maybe anon keeps the real world identity details for the other 9 in case they get tempted.

That's funny.

I decided to create a throw-away account to test the code, as a passphrase I used the very 1st thing that caught my attention - "http://localhost:7874/" in the browser address field. Can u imagine, this account had some coins on the balance!

When the community had to choose 3 questions to BCNext it managed to do it quite quickly. Now, when a lot of money involved, we all see that the community can't come to a consensus that easily...

Let's continue this psychological experiment!

That is no benefit. it is short sighted, stupid and a funding and PR nightmare. What are we to tell people when they ask about the destruction of 1% of the currency? "Oh, it increased the value of nxt holders. It's a good thing." And what are you to tell those that you would expect a donation or bounty from? "Well we had 10mil Nxt, but couldn't come to a consensus so we burned it... but we need your donation." Good luck with that.

EDIT: Frankly I am completely dumbfounded that burning these 10mil Nxt is even being discussed.

^That.

I personally like the idea when BCNext chooses these people.

1. I trust people he trusts.
2. Nobody knows who they are, means better security for people and coins
3. Voting poll is definitely not the best way to choose 10 people, but it's the only way for the community to make a decision

I still like your Idea !!!!
message on invitation carries some potential.
Later, if more people got it, we could discuss the aspect:    1440 blocks vs. X blocks...
