Does nexern works with his client?
- you keep repeating the same question. There is such feature as reading the last posts of a person on this forum:

hi,
have been very busy the last 10 days with an important RL extended service request for a big data project
i have built for a company some times ago, so i haven't had the time to follow the thread and development.
as soon i am finished this service (this weekend) i am again on the client and asset exchange even if there
are some very nice clients already in use, since my client structure differs from the current ones.

ps: i have recieved three donations for the client work (165k nxt) which i would pass back, if i am not able
to deliver until end of month (never ever took funds for nothing and don't intend to change this).
just mentioned in case the current boring data work keeps me longer busy as expected.

I've just been slaving away on hashrate.org for hours.

Please guys, please click these links and let me know what you think
http://hashrate.org
and http://nxtpool.net

I need some people to try and promote the site for me tomorrow. Smiley

Please guys, take a few minutes to take a look at hashrate.org
I've really tried my best to make a game changer here.

Too bad I've been working so hard on it I forgot to stock up on NXT ahead of time, lol

New clients like this one

http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

will make it much simpler

(that client is running on testnet, so don't use your real password)

and i dont think we should move all the discussion to the new forum. As someone already pointed out, this thread alone is good advertisement for Nxt.

SSL is needed to ensure that javascript client is not manipulated during transmission
Right. But the user is getting the javascript from nxtra.org, which I presume is under Wesley's control. If so, user has to trust him (and still use SSL so it is not modified in transit), but he already is trusting him that the client he maintains is not malicious.

What if nxtra.org is hacked? The client could be modified and everyone using it will be hacked along with it.

It would be a lot safer if he makes it as app in chrome store. The users no longer would need to download javascript from nxtra.org.

The browser plugin approach used by blockchain.info might be advisable (and would be useful for CIYAM as well - there is in fact a task I had put on CIYAM Open for this which I could re-open if there is interest).

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

You had a learning period with Bitcoin too, NXT isn't different in that. And I don't know why you're saying it's more complicated - it's basically the same level.

Why do you think so?

(1) Download Java
(2) Unzip to a folder (no installers or short cuts like usual window software)
(2) Click on bat files
(3) By default, the file uses java (instead of javaw) so you have running command prompt open -- that's not most people understand.
(3) Must create strong passwords; again a risky business for people used to using passwords like  "password1"

I wish Wesleh's client comes sooner -- maybe with next release. It's really needed and should be top priority.
