Been mining for a few hours and haven't found a block yet. Seems a bit slow going solo at the moment. This due to the difficulty balancing out? Is Bee still going to be handing out compensation in future, or has this stopped?

Compensation payments are stopped since block 130000

Oh, that's a shame. I found a block though, so I'll continue mining for the moment, as I have no pressing desire to mine anything else at the moment, and I know grain will continue to be valuable and even more so long-term, so it's a good way to spend my hashpower.

Just pm'ed ya.... Wink

Been mining a fwe days now on my laptop, but without much luck. Can anyone spot me some grain so that I can toy around with the Proof of Stake feature? I want to invest some money in grain, but want to feel it out before I commit.

9GTPA5kMVwXRp3LpuNe1fh4zvD3CsmzVYR

Thanks!  Smiley

Also, are there any clear numbers as far as what percentage of grain in generated from Proof of stake? Weekly, monthly, annualy, etc...?

I've received a bunch of small payments from mining.  Should I send the balance to myself to reset the coinage so their all the same, or does it matter?

I wouldn't, don't waste your already accrued time on the coinage.  Just keep filling the silo with that grain.

Had my wallet off a few days, switching operating systems, nice surprise when the wallet synced.

Coin is running great btw, real smooth, nice work!

Yes you don't need to have wallet open all the time, although you get PoS in time, but usually small coins, if you accumulate some time then open the wallet, you get bigger ones, as the coin-day accumulates, it will never be lost because you did not open the wallet.

Wouldn't you theoretically earn more interest over time by keeping your wallet open more often? If you receive small amounts often, then the earliest ones would mature and themselves earn interest, compared to leaving the wallet closed and receiving the interest all in one go, where in that time you wouldn't have earned any compound interest.

Hope that makes sense. It's hard to put into words.

Are there any long-term marketing strategies or niche-market concepts being planned for Grain, or is this currency being developed strictly as a long-term investment strategy minus a bank? Very curious about the future of this coin.

I would also like an answer to Nullu's question--is there any advantage to keeping the wallet open continuously, or is it only necessary every few days? Is this true with all proof of stake currencies?

Yes what you mean is the compound interest versus simple interest, that is correct. Though I think the difference is not big.

Are there any issues about wallet 1.4? I get maximum 4 connections and downloading blocks is very slow there are more new blocks than blocks I download. So I can never get synced.

Final block compensations

Sent 1550000 to 9JmAqsPMJxmWut6puwGN3CJF3xdZTFkdF8 for Otakusama's pool for all blocks mined during the period.
Sent 5000.0 to 9C98tikfUPaDLLp31SueP2R86hga3RzyTJ
Sent 40000.0 to 9JbGwYMvTCZ9kDKfj5DevbW9kRzBtF2TpF
Sent 40000.0 to 95W762WiTV8YwQ9ras2hrpSTpAhH8xBHhQ

I still have to send 585000.0 GRA to the forkpool op, but I have been asked by miners to hold the payment until the situation is cleared.
Cryptochomper asked to hold the payment to his pool until tech issues resolved, so 60000.0GRA is also on hold.

If I missed somebody, please let me know.
