I think it's pretty obvious at this point that earthcoin intends not to provide such information. Whether this is because they really are going to dump at some point and cash out, or because they don't want to spend the time accounting for it, is unclear, but they won't be publishing the accounts.

I would imagine that one good reason to not have 100% transparency of the premine is that the devs are aware of the need for some of the coins to be used as baksheesh/Bribes in order to grease the wheels ect.......

Not very discreet to pay a bribe then publish the details online for everyone to see.

The devs are experienced in this new field as has been pointed out many times already a successful coin is worth more in the long term than a quick pump and cashout.
dont forget Bitcoin had a hefty premine as well that was used to promote the coin in the early days , depending how much is left someone could be still be sitting on tens of millions of dollars worth of BTC and seeing as what the coin has achieved in it short life I for one have no problem with that at all.

Satoshi is sitting on 1.6 million coins worth over $1 billion.  He has not sold one which lends to the coins credibility.  Imagine yourself having $1 million, $10 million, $100 million dollars and the $1 billion.  And you never sold any?  Could you do it or would you succumb to the greed?  EarthCoin is no different, the devs are not poor and can feed themselves and have a vision for the many not for the few.

As I was saying 2014 will undoubtedly be the year of the crypto, dilution will occur en-masse but when the dust settles towards the end of 2015 and the winners emerge in their respective categories, EarthCoin will be one of them.  The hardest time during the birth of a coin is before its first 50% creation of the supply, dilution occurs naturally as the adoptions spreads out.  The best thing EarthCoin can hope for is a flat-line currency where the 3x and 5x payouts cause the ebb and flow of supply, rolling hills where bottoms find people with attitudes that envision the future and risk tolerances that allow for longer holding times.  AS the currency is meted out to a wider demographic the coin will find its sustainability and become self-supporting.  It is only a matter of time.  Trading $25,000 USD to $100,000 USD per day is remarkable for a 1 week old coin.  Nice job dev team, you're creating a foundation for the wicked storm that is approaching.  When they get burned and feel spited, they will see a twinkle on the horizon and it will be the glimmer of hope of EarthCoin, there will still be a chance for them to participate and profit because of your vision for the future.

Agree with the long term approach of the EAC community....but on the flip side most of your miners have bills to pay and businesses to run....so there will be dumps going on without a doubt....question is how much of your business model can you dedicate to the long term potential of ANY coin and still pay the bills? premine is now well below the 50% of all coins and shrinking fast....the next month of this coins existence will either cause people to hoard or dump.....either way we will be watching closely! Yes the ebb and flow of the price is undoubtedly due to the reality of linking the fiat world and the EAC.  Hydro, hardware costs.  3x and 5x pay out periods will see selling I would assume followed by adoption of buyers who see a future.  You are 100% correct.  The math of the currency causes these fluctuations and it really is up to fate and luck if the math fits well with-in the psyche of the community that adopts the currency until such time that the miners as well see a future and pay their bills out of their own pockets for as long as possible to catch price appreciation and coin adoption.

This is where karma, a good dev team, transparency, the community as a whole bring the intangible value.

Still waiting to hear why so many rejects on solo mining. Diverted 40,000 Kh/s from my 100,000 kh/s to the network, and my rejected rate is out of the ballpark. I know it's not my setup, so are there any updated nodes to add? I'll give it another couple hours then I'm writing off mining EAC. Glad I didn't divert my entire 100,000...

How about you point the 100mh/s to us for some days ? we have 1 orphaned in last 50 blocks.

ok I can't match your solo hashrate - but I can tell you that I don't have any rejects - and I don't even use any nodes in my conf file..

Get ready for the 2x EAC payout starting in about 7 hours at Chunky Earth.

  • We have a 0% mining fee, SSL, and we're super scalable and stable.
  • I will be giving away 10,000 EAC to random accounts when we hit 100 MH/s
  • I will be giving away 500 EAC to block finders.

https://pool.chunky.ms/eac/

NOTE: We are patched with the stratum tx message fix.

P.S. In addition to all this, I'm just throwing coins at new miners in this thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=391190.new#new

No, I have a very large GPU farm. I'm still not having any luck with the solo mining with almost half of my farm on it, and I don't pool mine small coins, solo only. Back to LTC I go.

I just published http://eac.cryptocalc.io! It's another countdown site; poolerino beat me to the punch Tongue.  I figured I'd publish it now even though there is more to add since I believe it is more accurate than the current one in the OP.  It fetches the current block from the earthchain to then calculate the countdown timer based on the 60 second blocks.  If you feel it helps or you enjoy it, please consider a donation in BTC or EAC at the addresses at the bottom of the page.

I will be continuing to add to this since I just wanted to get it out there for now.  Please let me know what you think of this and what I could add in the future to make it better.
