I know that Earthcoin does not really advertise like its some energy conscious/green living currency, but its not a bad angle to advertise from due to how "low energy usage" conscious people are becoming. So if it was possible to modify Earthcoin in to using Scrypt-Jane, then we all could cut down on our energy usage, as one of my rigs uses about 700w when on Scrypt, and 540w on Scrypt-Jane. you'd also be resistant to the Scrypt-ASICs that should be showing up later this year.
I've also been wondering what that would mean to a currency, good or bad? From a hobbyist miner's perspective, it would be awesome if all new coins would be scrypt-jane because then even with 1 gpu I can mine some coins when the difficulty is not too high yet. When the scrypt asics are released to the public, only the already wealthy investors can mine standard scrypt coins at release. But for an already established coin where gpu mining barely pays for the electricity? Dunno.. If it is possible it would be nothing but beneficial. Are any of you at earthcointalk? I am going to bed now, but I'll make a post about scrypt-jane tomorrow unless one you guys does it tonight I'm not on those forums yet, but will be signing up soon. |

Just set it for auto withdrawal every 1000 coins right into your wallet. Back up your wallet on a schedule, I do everyday because it's literally just copying and pasting a small file, but once a week wouldn't be a bad idea. They may or may not be safe, I'd guess they will be there but you never know. |

Earthcoin withdrawal on there is roughly 0.001 EAC. What I'd do is just withdraw after each trading session and transfter back next time you go in. Earthcoin is so incredibly fast, it would only take a few seconds to see the transaction go through and you would have a whole lot of peace-of-mind for that tiny fee. |

Those new sites look amazing! Small typo though on the foundation page: "The first organizatoins.." When presenting the idea of crypto donations to the organizations it probably would be good to demonstrate how easy it is for people to donate. No need to do bank wire or go to find your credit card or any of that stuff.. just copy-paste address and go. Btw, would it be a good idea if people who donate could add info into the transaction comment field (just a message to say hi, or wishing happy new year or world peace etc), and that info would show up in the foundation page in a donator list or something.. would make taking part more personal for those that like it. |

The transaction comments in the client are public so if those transaction comments say something like "Save the Children" it would be very easy to index all those who contributed.
