I love how everyone is feigning ignorance about motivation. If you own coins, then I am absolutely 100% certain that you are motivated to bring the price up so you can sell higher. And if you don't own any, like some of the trolls that just attacked me, then you would be motivated to bring the price down so you can buy lower. Me, I'm in the middle, if it goes up alot, then I can sell my coins, if it goes down I can just buy more. It's like playing roulette at a casino with a fat bank account. Just keep picking black and double down if you lose, eventually you will win.

Yes, please. I have the buy orders lined up. Smiley
Etblvu1

So you're a hypocrite then? Your motive is to buy cheap. Besides, you wouldn't want me to dump. Not only would I fill your orders, but then you'd instantly lose money on them.

I'm sure there are enough people (myself included) who would soak up cheap coins. I have enough hope that the coin will not implement a bad fork, or even if it does, someone will pick up the mess and improve it at some point, that I'm not selling the coins. And if you are really a trader, you should know that a loss does not occur until you sell. As far as I am concerned, the coins I bought at .0009 are just taking a detour south on the way back up eventually, and only by selling would I be taking a loss, even if it heads for the .0001 territory. And even if the coin dies, if I have already "lost" 2/3 of the value, losing the remaining 1/3 of the value is not a big deal.

And no, I am not a hypocrite. For one, I do not intentionally post misleading or fear-inducing posts to panic people into selling cheap, or push for implementing forks (apparently) specifically designed to cause the coin value to decline. But if people do want to sell cheap, I'll take advantage of the bargain. This does not make me an equal of the one who may have posted fear-inducing posts or pushed for bad inflation-inducing forks. If anything, I help take away the incentive of the fear-inducer by reducing the quantity of coin available for them to buy at the lower price.

Good luck with that, nothing can stop me from hoarding CAT coins.
At least you guys should see this as a testament to how I really feel about this coin.

And no, I cannot take away your ability to buy any cheap coins. But if you succeed in inducing the coin prices to temporarily drop, each coin I buy in such a bargain situation, is one less coin available for you to buy. And there will never be more than 21 million coins.

That's fine, unless you plan on holding them forever, then they will eventually find their way into my hands.

I may hold onto them forever. Or I may find it has gone up far enough to have reached the peak. I am pretty good at sensing peaks. About half of my BTC's, I converted to USD at or above $1000, and now I am working on re-accumulating (I'm good at, but not 100% perfect at, so it would have been crazy for me to convert all). So if and when I think CAT has reached a peak, you are welcome to take some (but not all) off my hands. Then I'll buy more when I see the coin is nearing bottom again.

I am only a small investor of cat, all bought with cash, cannot mine, and I bought most of mine at the high-end  0.001, it may not be alot to some of you who are in-fighting here, but it is to me. It looks like cat will not recover, and well, I would rather lose the lot than sell them dirt cheap. It comes to it when the fate of cat is in the greedy hands of a few individuals who are selfish enough to profit from the many, who I suppose are only smallholders like me.

Otherwise, it's also fine. The goal is to get them into stronger hands. If you're a strong hand then we are on the same team.

I was thinking that instead of just outright buying more cats, that I would use the money to build some uber mining rig and point it at CAT.
Then maybe we wouldnt even need another fork.

Yes, I highly recommend that. Not only is that more fun, maybe once you experience a bit of the low profitability at high difficulty periods, you will start to think the loyalty credit idea has some merit to it after all. Smiley

I wouldn't mine to get CATS. Chances are they would sit in the pool for a while. I would mine to increase stability, security, and ultimately price up.
Anyone that owns a substantial amount CATcoin should be mining it regardless of how many cats you get out of it.

Well, that sounds patriotic, I suppose. I don't know you'd be able to afford the kind of gigahashes it would take to counteract the coin hoppers jumping into the coin during low difficulty times. If you really don't care about profitability of the mining, maybe you can take the idea a step further and only mine during high difficulty times, so you can counteract the coin hoppers with twice the effectiveness.

In the meantime, especially since there is no way I can afford the kind of gigahashes it would take to counteract the coin-hoppers (not to mention I have to admit having some aversion to rewards of my efforts being collected by coin hoppers), I will continue to work to try and get a rational difficulty adjustment and mining reward structure in place, so Adam Smith's invisible hands can supply the gigahashes needed to keep the coin network secure and reliable.

Gigahashes? Isnt that asking a bit much lol
We need 500 MH between everyone combined to keep it stable.

Well, you'd have to get pretty close to the combined hash power of coin hoppers who would occasionally drop in on Catcoins to keep the difficulty swings in check. To be precise, if you exactly matched up their mining power, and set yours up to mine exactly when they aren't around to mine, you can hope to completely cancel out their effects. That would take gigahashes for sure.

It all depends on how much "temporary" hashing "help" we receive from coin hoppers. If they "loan" us 500 MH, then having a stable base of 500 MH would mean we'd oscillation between 500MH and 1GH, which would be about a 2:1 difficulty oscillation. Not ideal, but better than what we have now. But if coin hoppers decide they want to "loan" us 5 GH, which can easily happen, then to keep the same effect, we'd need a stable base of 5 GH all of a sudden.

But I suppose given current circumstances, even 500 MH would help. So, since we have a bit over a million Coins, it would take everyone who owns 1 catcoin to contribute 500 hashes (or 500 KH per 1,000 catcoins; or 5 MH per 10,000 catcoins). I guess you'd need to contribute about 10 MH, or about 3-4 typical rigs, to meet your quota if the math is right, and that is the right allocation. I'll bet nobody has produced a coin yet that requires coinholders to prove they are contributing hashing power in order to be able to retain the same quantity of coins - or else coins are subtracted and sent to whoever wants to mine in their stead to take on mining duties. LOL.

We aren't on that list because no one here does any research or promotion outside of this thread.
I already sent him a PM and he has yet to get back to me.

Pretty sure he is only currently adding coins that aren't already on exchanges. CAT doesn't really qualify for that.

Also I tried using that site to sell my MONA but for some reason you can't put a price below 1 BTC, which makes it useless for the time being for anyone affected. It's not a browser issue either, it occurs with Firefox, Chrome and IE.
