Anyway I did pretty well today, gained another ~10% overall. Guess I'll go to bed and check up on things later since it's pretty quiet at the moment.
And for the love of CAT I had better not come back to a clusterfuck.

Same, up to 3.6k cat. The way I see it, this coin is a sleeper. Rocky start at first, but people are watching it. I'm just going to dig in for the long wait.

Installing new card drivers now. Tense moment as I see whether my PSU can handle two high powered cards. I'm trying to get a new gpu aswell to help with the hash rate, don't know if I should get a 7950, a 280x or a 290, kind of tight on money right now and although it's an investiment with return so I don't know how should I handle this ..

I have a 7950 and 280Xs, the 7950 alone made me £200+ within 2 days of this coins launch and it was only £180 to buy, in 2 months I have made £350+ total with it, so nearly doubled my moeny for the 7950, my 280x is about a week old and has made me about £100 already so they do pay pretty quick, Also when you want to cash out, either do it when you have a lot to cash out and use something like MTgox or something like that, or if like me you have only like 0.2 or 0.3 then go to something like bitgild and buy gold then sell on ebay, that way people can't do the cash back thing through paypal and you won't loose that much as if you sold it straight to someone (maybe like 1/25 of the price)

Well, I have it working alongside my GTX 670 now. The R9 280x provides nice bang for buck, but it runs pretty hot. It's fine though, as they can take the heat, but when it gets to max temp I drop from 700mhash/sec to 635mhash/sec, so realistically to get max performance I'll need to watercool it. It's a bit annoying that I bought the best performing/cheapest R9 280x that I could find, because I'll have to buy a Universal GPU waterblock to cool it now, as it's a non-reference board. Oh well. It'll still be way better than the stock air cooler. A decent 240 radiator should keep it running at 700mhash.

I won't be overclocking. It's just to keep the card cool. I'm going to need it for when the summer comes along. I should be able to fit a 50mm thick dual radiator in the top of the case and mount the fans on top of the case. Probably wire them up to a fan controller and rev it up when I'm mining. Get some SP120 performance fans, aka Jet engines.

You didn't get a model with custom cooling, I'm holding so far to get a 290 with custom cooler, at a reasonable price @Loader yes I know, and there is a huge discount right now on them I can get one for 190sh€ and I'm considering this option the most, as I need to build another pc around the card, my current PC has already two cards, I will one week because making a final decision and see how my finances will go on, I've been using my desktop all this time on Cat despite not being profitable in a couple of occasions, and want to give another little push to it another 1Mh/s it's not much but definitly better than nothing

I could get an after-market air cooler, but it wouldn't stop my card from throttling. This card is just an intermediary step for me until I have enough BTC to build a dedicated mining rig.

It doesn't seem that the http://catcoins.biz site has been updated with new P2Pool nodes for some time. Here's a list of P2Pool nodes I know about: http://cat.e-pool.net:9993http://galen.hozed.org:9927http://p2pool.name:9333http://p2pool.org:9999http://p2pool-us.gotgeeks.com:9333http://solidpool.org:9333It would be nice if people, who have access to various social media pages, could update the pool lists with these (especially the first post!). It seems to me that the current, not very high (a few megs), P2Pool hashrate deters new users from it. A few of you are building new rigs, maybe if you pointed them at P2Pool, you'd make P2Pool more attractive to newcomers - that would be especially usefull due to the persisting problem of a few pools having a rather high percentage of the network hashrate. Finally regarding the potential second hardfork - we should definitely not rush anything and be sure that the network won't stabilise by its self (seems less likely every day to me, but unless the coin is (very nearly) dying, we should give it a bit more time). But we should keep discussing both the loyality system and the difficulty change capping method, and be sure to somehow test the changes before deploying. Also don't be too attached to the original developer, despite the fact that it's great to have him around, Catcoin is free as in beer and, more importantly, as in speech - we should make use of it, the forked repository is already demonstrating this.

I wouldn't get a H100 myself. Not bad if you want an all-in-one, but I'd prefer a dedicated pump like a DDC.

I think that would have been better, but again there is availability issues, and prices so I understand it's hard to get one of those^^
