I am sure that startups will start to pay us money again and again when the assets return to the market

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Now is the moment when the hype around the projects disappeared and only enthusiasts decide to invest or participate in the bounty.

Or in another words when it is "blood on the pages" of the forum is'n it? Aposteriori we can assume that spring-summer of 2018 was the end of ICO in their current appearance. And a scheme was as old as a world itself. Now public cry for "decentralization" changed to "we need regulation" (and profits as with Ethereum I suppose Grin)

Never, this fundraising method will never end. We need to find solutions of how to avoid entering fraud projects and losing investors funds. We need more regulations on the crypto market to make it a more safer place for everybody.

Not sanctions but strict laws and regulations. I think real hype of ICO didn't start, it starts when Ethereum 2.0 will be released because this upgrade will solve the main problems that interfere with the widespread use of cryptocurrency

Now the requirements for projects are rising because there are a lot of projects on the market that are created only to make money on people who initially buy tokens and then developers leave the market  Sad

You do not need to impose sanctions on ICO. A lot of fraud ICO will only make the ICO fall. In the future, ICO may disappear. No one can stop the fake ICO problem. Many ICOs are fraudulent unless the forum comes out to maintain it. False ICO has seriously affected the cryptocurrency market.

I make money on investment activities in projects that are at ICO. And until now I still use and trust a number of existing ICO projects to invest.

The Bear market well and truly put an end to the hype of the ICO. Most sales have either postponed their crowd sale until things recover or those that ran have seen a horrible destruction of the token price as soon as they hit the exchanges. 2018 will be a most forgetable year for those involved in crypto.

No sanctions and regulators will not help, except that somewhat improve the situation.

We need international efforts to effectively combat fraudsters.
International cooperation is essential for eradicating ICO fraud, said Steven Peikin, co-director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement division.

It's no longer a secret. many of the ICO that appears only at first then go either without the news. This is where pretty unsettling for investors and sometimes also make investors feel tired and reluctant to invest. the selection of the right in the ICO should be the main things that are emphasized in order to avoid cases of this kind.

There's ICO that's legit enough becaue they went some verification under govenrment and people are still turning their eyes and blaming those scam ICO because they want to fill their pocket without considering the fact that the ICO is promising too much. People need to be more selective.

The hype will never end consider this is the easiest way for the developers to get the development funds. You know that how many investors that investing in the ethereum ico, neo ico and many more have become millionaires or rich person. This hype will always exist.

I think if the ICO market is not going to recover in 2019, the ICOs era will end. There are so many scam projects on the market and it makes the majority of investors to be afraid for their funds.

Sanctions are necessary because around this a business has already been created which represents the creation of a project with a unique idea, a big promotion of this project and further the collection of real money and the sale of useless tokens  Wink

Not all ICO's doing that, some still active and fuctional in the market after there token sales succesfully done. We can blame on those ICO's missing in line because some is not effective and having losses and no choice but to dissolve their project. So many ICO's pumping out in the market so no worries at all even others ICO's disappear.
It is true that not all icos are doing that, but the number of icos that receive a good amount of money from investors and then just disappear is significant and we cannot ignore it, ignoring the problem only makes it even larger, but unfortunately I really do not see a way in which we can avoid that those icos appear and then disappear with the money they got from investors.

I guess there should be a more secure and robust ICO regualtion in the market where ICO is being filtered out first before they can attract the market investors. This will make a great change in the future of cryptocurrencies.

I guess yes. In order for the cryptocurrency and Initial coin offerings to be more trusted, we should put some regulations that will going to scan Projects in order to retain only the good and take the scam out of the market.

There are a lot of scams. I made the mistake of investing in them. But I believe there are still good ICOs for the market  Cheesy

Without deliberately stopping the hype, the ICO project has now entered the cold winter period, and the current ICO will disappear in the future. In the future, there will not be a large number of investors participating in ICO investment. The drop in bitcoin prices is deadly to the ICO market.
