I'm amazed at people who still invest in ICO. Do not they really understand that they can lose everything at the same time? How easy it is to buy an already existing crypt with a reputation. This will reduce the risk of losing everything.

The rush ended about a year ago and about 90% of the projects turned out to be fraud. When will the next wave is unknown and whether it will be at all.

ICO's are banned in some countries but I'm not sure you can regulate it to the fullest. You buy tokens in crypto, not fiat.
Moreover, I know some ICOs which returned money to the investors when the project had been delayed. Good ICOs exist.

If scam ICOs can be sanctioned, then it might be this best, but i do not think it can happen as thought. Scammers will not want to reveal their identities and will try every means possible to ensure that they are not caught. Except if they are from a countries where activities on internet are carefully monitored by the government and if they they are ready to apprehend them. |

No one is immune from investment fraud and there are no guarantees of a refund. This problem is now very popular and therefore the issue of ICO regulation is still open. And I hope that in the near future it will be decided in favor of investors.

I think that nobody can argue with the fact, that ICOs are facing not their best times at the moment and somebody would say that the hype is over, but when the market turns green we would see even bigger wave of fresh ICO projects.

I do not think anything substantial can really be done to curb this menace, if you place sanctions in one country, they would all start registering in another country where there is little or no sanctions.

ICOs will continue to come unless crypto collapses. Your problem is with fake ICOs and how it can be curbed. I think the best way the trend of fake ICOs can be controlled or curbed is through thorough regulations which will collect the real data of the team of every project. With this, all fake ICOs and the team behind can be traced and arrested. |

As for me the main reason why ICOs have become not so attractive since 2018 is no more than bear market. A lot of people got out of the crypto market, so it has become much complicated to raise that much money as ICOs did in 2017.

I think that the ico time has passed, no sanctions are needed) people stopped investing in ico, they almost do not collect money. A few years ago we needed government regulation of ICO activities. If the states immediately, after seeing massive fraud in this activity and embezzling the funds of investors, took appropriate measures to prevent the commission of other crimes, then there would not be such a deplorable situation now. In 2017 total marketcap was lower than 1 trillion$ and it is easy to speculate small markets. When markets entered to bear cycle all connected sectors found themselves as trapped in cheap prices. ICOs are not profitable anymore then investors shifted their money to other industries. |

I think if it will gonna happened to sanction those ICO's that are getting scammed so many people I will agree with that to prevent launching more scam ICO. And I think it will help more investors to only invest in a legit projects that can really grow in the future unlike those projects that only want to scam the investors.
