Care to share that coin here philip? It's just us bitcointalk forum miners here and i'm sure we won't make much of a dent in your profitability. You know what they say, sharing is caring Only 1.7 million forum members might see it

Thank you for sharing those meeting minutes. I saw something on twitter about this, but it's much better to be able to read it for myself. What they are discussing is mostly over my head but I'm encouraged that they are seriously looking into this.

Of course--Oh God A Girl was in the RVN Discord earlier and said she thought they were at least receptive. I think the key is that much of the work is already done, and the IfDefElse team is prepared to tailor it to them so they don't have to expend too many resources.

This will probbaly be implemented in the next release if anything , assuming they can push through but this would not happend for a while. I would be nice though just to bright those hundreds of thoundsands of E3 chips and the F3 we all know is ramping up soon this could cost shitmain millions

I thought he opposed suggestions that Ethereum needs a hardfork to make the network ASIC resistant as Monero did. He said "..the threat of centralization is negligible...."

I don't think he has the final say on this , like all development teams they discuss the pros and cons and if this EIP 1057 can be implemented with a mininal impact on his POS holy grail I can't see how he would have a problem , He does not have the final vote there would have to be a consensus on implementing it though. The fact that they are researching it is promising though.

During the Eth dev meeting, the 3 proposing the algo implementations noted one their priorities was ease of integration - with Casper so close, if it wasn't, it would have no chance (with Ethereum, at least)

I love the challenge of gpu mining and I love the chance to stick it to the 'man' which was always my hope with gpu mining. Now fhe big boys trying to take over everything. I like to see how CN7 plays out. I think there is good support for these types of coins. I'm all rx and vegas. A few asics but they are turned off as I don't have cheap power.
My plan this year is to fine tune as much as possible all my individual cards to reduce power. There is always a sweet spot somewhere with every card and when you find it it's a great feeling. The almost infinite combos of voltage/memory/gpu.
I did the same. All my cards are running at 50-70% power to prolong the life.

If they change the PoW, do you think no Hard fork is required? I thought the XMR was hard forked to do that.

They specifically dont want to require a hard fork to tweak the algo because it would take time away from other more important things (Casper)

Link to thread 7 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2674194.0I self modded the thread. I will simply delete nasty attacks on each other about the good or bad of asics vs gpus vs fpgas. I want focus to be on how to survive the shift. ... My position is the industry needs to be widespread as possible to create demand for coins. This year I am no longer focusing on what gear to use. But how to expand my cheap reliable power. ... I'm late to the party, but very glad to see the thread continue. I like the idea of focusing on how to lower power costs (solar, tweaks). I also see another round for home/smallish miners based on the FGPA threads. Costs more to enter the game than it used to, but avoids the, 'I bought a Bitmain toaster than doesn't actually make $800 a day.' So if there are pioneers here on the FGPA wagon, would love to hear their insights over the next few months. well there is the fpga thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3459858.0my issue is the op is talking 4% development fee that never ends. I have to depend on him for software. I have almost zero skill coding. I don't think it will be mainstream enough.

I have almost zero skill coding. I don't think it will be mainstream enough. Right now, that thread is basically three or four people talking to each other. But I think it will gain enough adoption that the Claymores of the world will come crawling out of the woodwork. And then that devfee will fall. In any case, if diversification is an interest then I think we have to follow this and ProgPoW.

Sounds like several of us are on the same page.
I put the brakes on growing the farm around January and actually started to sell off the less powerful cards. Focusing on efficiency. Vegas- like always - are humming along great and are the production base now. I've scaled back the 1080tis but still have a few in play - mainly chasing new coins trying to get lucky. Everything else is gone.
No real plans to add asics or fpgas. I do believe they are inevitable for long term coins and in general we are trending that way. At this point, I'm not sure if I will even chase new cards that may come out this year.

Any miner with a dev fee "never ends." Seeing the posts of everyone complaining int SP_'s thread really just proves there is not a good solution; People complain even more when he charges up front with no dev fee. In this scenario I believe the dev fee will actually incentive the dev to keep the project going. He doesn't get paid unless the cards are profitable. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money. I'm hoping this won't become mainstream
