The only problem with placing at 5 Litoshi now with over 800 LTC already there could be, that you maybe never get coins, because you're the last in the line then. I'd say 6 Litoshi is still a good buy at the moment. Even 7 would not be too bad. If you're investing long term, it should be relatively negligible anyway, if 5,6 or 7. OK, the lesser the entry, the nicer the gain. But who cares for Litoshis anymore, when Mooncoin will be at the old highs again ...  Cheesy

Edit: Just restartet the moonchain-server, so it is accessible again - was stuck, as it seemed. But please don't you all check the suspicious address 2QgWwFic9H45Waeac7Gr4iveRp8UUuPAy8 at once now again, ok?  Smiley

Edit 2: You could also only pick the latest blocks with the highest "value out" (example1, example2, example3) instead of checking the whole address and will see, that most of them by far have been found by that address. See "Generation: xxxxxxxx" - this is the reward, that has been paid to the block-finder, it can best be seen in blocks with only 1 transaction. You can then pick a block like this one or this one, where you can see the aggregated rewards being sent to another address ( 2LKFcMY6Uk3qYqA4NYbgDS274ei2kx3BNf ), which I suppose is Cryptsy's, because when I observed it over a certain timeframe, exactly those amounts were some minutes later sold on Cryptsy. We cannot countercheck this at the moment, because Cryptsy's wallet is under maintenance. But I'm sure, as soon as Cryptsy reopens the wallet, all the summed amounts from over the last days will be sold there and after that we can see transfers like linked above being sold there again, too. If you check those blocks, where the aggregated amounts are transferred from that address in question, you'll most probably never see any single amount below 200000 being sent from there ...
Now try the opposite and check several blocks with lower and lowest rewards. I bet, you'll never find that address above in it as the address to which the generated reward-coins were going. That explains, why many miners are disappointed by the rewards they get over time. They simply are being cheated by that dodger, who uses a script to only mine the higly rewarded blocks, leaving the other miners with the little crumbs. Just like here: http://www.reddit.com/r/MoonCoin/comments/2h0p1e/mooncoin_can_we_have_a_serious_discussion/
Btw: I am - of course - not seeing Mooncoin going down or even disappear from exchanges because of this, like he does, but totally can understand his frustration for not getting the rewards he has to get, for dedicating his hashrate to the Mooncoin-network.
The next problem that comes out of this is, that sometimes it lasts quite a time until a new block is found, because the miners that mine on the smaller rewarded blocks have the same difficulty and the cheater is mining something else, leaving the other miners with their small machines with the work, to only chime in again, when there's another big block to get, so he can make out like a bandit. Therefore we not only need this solved because of fairness, but also for the functionality of the coin, so that all blocks are found fast and transactions will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Conclusion: We need a dev, who can help us with handling the wallet update to address this problem by changing from random to static rewards AND doing the necessary hardfork of Mooncoin.

I can do this, changing the wallet source code from random to static rewards and deliver new compiled windows wallet and source code. But with the necessary hardfork I need help. And I also need someone else to compile the mac wallet. At the moment I am watching HIRO , they are changing to a new wallet and I am watching their hardfork. I want to avoid mistakes that lead to different blockchains.

I'll send you a link to the reddit-post, that reveals how it was done for Dogecoin until they changed to static rewards. I don't want to post the link here, to prevent other irresponsible miners from using that, too. Would be nice, if you check that out and confirm it here. I'll also send that link to peme and redjedievolution, so that they can check that, too.

If someone has been plucking the sweet rewards only to dump on Cryptsy AND Cryptsy's mooncoin wallet is under maintenance so they haven't been able to dump yet AND we keep pushing the price up via buy walls, isn't that a bad thing?  Would it not make sense for everyone to pull back their buys to 1 litoshi now, then when the "player" dumps we ("the faithful") can pick up the fruits of his labor cheaply, afterward re-establishing the price at 5,6,7 litoshi?  Right now it would appear that "we" have just made it much more profitable for him to dump then it was a week ago.

Again, I write code not trade currencies so please explain why I don't understand.

A dump to 1 would give this coin some room to breath again. Sell/ask walls are tremendous for a long time already.

I tried to get more Mooncoins cheap during and after the Apollo days when the coins per block where 5 times higher than before. I thought I could get some cheapt MOON at 3 Litoshi. But no chance. The next block halving will come in some weeks...I think it will be impossible that MOON will fall lower than 4 Litoshi. Perhaps I will have luck to get some more at 4. We will see. Nevertheless I will try to change the random reward in source code. And I will not wait until price is falling to 1 Litoshi.

If the price falls, so will the difficulty, hence the same profitability for the miner(s) and problem as before, only at a lower price-level.

Edit: The only thing that would help was, if all other miners except the cheating one(s) would stop mining. So they could not only mine the highly-rewarded blocks, but had to mine the other ones also.

Edit 2:
If you'd like to check the profitability of Mooncoin in comparison to other coins, see here:
http://cointweak.com/ (... omits Cryptsy at the moment for all coins, but the owner of the site is working on a solution)
But keep in mind, that the profitability is only valid for the average numbers coin mined over a certain time regarding the random-scheme of rewards (and therefore only if nobody cheats and does not get all the good blocks only).

Edit 3:
In one thing you're right: It would be funny, if the price was only 1 Litoshi in exactly that moment, when Cryptsy's wallet is open again and his coins are going to the market.  Cool
But as we don't know WHEN that will be and we most probably cannot reach every bidder on Cryptsy, this scenario will presumably not be realistic ...   Huh
Furthermore a coin is in danger of being delisted, if there is no trading-volume on the exchange anymore and/or the price is as low.

That's what I would recommend, too.
Could you work on the code in GitHub, please? So that I could add there, too? Because we need to change the right-click link to the explorer in the wallet, too. At the moment it leads to mooncoin.info/abe/... which does not work anymore. Furthermore we should release the new wallet with the latest OpenSSL-version, to overcome possible problems related to the Heartbleed-bug. Just send me your GitHub-account-name, and I'll add you to https://github.com/mooncoin-project/mooncoin, which is the official wallet code - forked to a new branch, so we can work on that publicly.

Edit:
That way, we have the chance to get help from other developers, too, who could issue pull requests then, to add to the code.

Edit 2:
Since some of the languages are not complete, translators could also add their work there.

No sell-orders at 8 Litoshi on Cryptsy anymore ...

Edit: Now 80 LTC again at 8. Seems, as if someone does not like MOON to be above 7 Litoshi ...

Edit 2: But on Swisscex it now has gone up to 8 on the bid-side.  Smiley

Succsessfully created a Debian Linux Virtual Machine with C++ and QT development environment.  Cool
Succsessfully compiled the Mooncoin Linux wallet from source.  Cool
Succsessfully started mooncoind as a server ... connected fast...now downloading blockchain...  Cool

I have now a working Windows QT environment and a working Linux QT environment for working on mooncoin source code and compiling wallets.
If the linux wallet will work well it's a first small step to the Mooncoin payment server.  Cool Grin

...time to sleep while wallet is downloading blockchain....  Smiley

Hi, I am chinatuakong, my previous account seems not to be working. I have posted an update for deaconboogie mooncoin client some months ago but not accepted. So I am here to help you all changing the rewards to static.....again...

let us go down to line 1099 in main.cpp :

else if(nHeight <= 250000) {
                nSubsidy = (1 + generateMTRandom(seed, 599999)) * COIN;

the line means : if lower than 250000 blocks, the subsidy will be generated from a number between 1 to 600000 multiply COINS .

so just change nSubsidy to 300000 if you want 300000 static rewards.

   nSubsidy=300000;

so if you want to do the hardforking at block 300,000, just change the line from :

else if(nHeight <= 300000) {
                nSubsidy = (1 + generateMTRandom(seed, 349999)) * COIN;

to :
  else if(nHeight <= 300000) {
            nSubsidy = 300000;

and don't change anything on top of it
