Would a kind soul send me the absolute minimum CACH so I can confirm I have a working wallet?
I'll be happy to return with 100% interest (but make it really the minimum amount lol)

CMpfGqwCfiybuWnWqiHZ4p92YnJDbxKZeu

Cheers,
Myagui

Sent 0.1 CACH - enjoy.

Thank you Sy, will return 0.2 after I get my mining proceeds confirmed. Smiley
Do I read correctly that it takes 7 days for mined blocks to mature? Ouch!

- Myagui
about 4 days actually

For those who cant download the CACHE client from Mega, I have the v5.0.0.0 windows qt located here:

http://www.chainbrowser.com/qt/CACHeCoin.zip

I would also stay away from Cryptsy when buying/selling cache.  The market is being manipulated via bots and makes it impossible to see the true buy and sell orders.  Poloniex seems to be doing a much better job at keeping things under control.

Looks like I've got the v0.4.3.0 wallet on my desktop.

Is this one still accepted and usable?

Nope, the older versions are not able to fully sync/connect. Besides, updating woudn't hurt Wink

Allright. I will.

If we want to order a chip from Fibonacci next monday and we want to pay with CacheCoin, should I do this through my wallet or through Cryptsy?

Does withdrawing Cachecoin from Cryptsy to my own wallet bring any trouble?

No trouble, I recommend you to move coins to your walet, as cryptsy could have problems with quick payouts (especially if lot of people wishes to withdraw at once and they would need to refill the hot wallet from cold wallet, assuming they probably have something like that set up).  Cryptsy had in the past occasionally problems both with delayed deposits and withdrawals, so be safe and withdraw your coins in advance.

If your doing something time sensitive, always pay through your wallet.  That way if the exchange is having an issue you will not be affected.

If you are worried about your coins staking istart your client with the reservebalance command line argument, which will make the specified amount of coins ineligible for stake by the client. If you put an amount in that is larger than your total coins, it will essentially turn off POS mining and therefore staking with your coins.

An example batch file to launch a client with the argument in Windows can be seen below. Make sure you change the relevant paths to match your own.

Code:
@echo off
start f:\cachecoin\cachecoin-qt.exe -reservebalance=100000
exit

Hope this helps.

Hm, as I don't have any technical knowledge about wallets etc, I don't really get this.

I've got a new wallet now, the newest version with 0 coins. What happens when I withdraw my coins from Cryptsy? What means when they got 'stacked'?  Will they got stacked when I withdraw them now?

Not stacked, but staked. It is a way the coins can generate interest - theoretically the interest can be 5% per year, but due to stake blocks having own difficulty and competition (there are many wallets wishing to stake coins) the actual interest is somewhat lower.

Coins need to be at lest 7 days old (i.e. you need to have them in your wallet for at least 7 days, the counter is set to zero when you the coins are sent to new address) to have a chance to create staked coins, the older the coins, the more stake you can earn, but after being 30 days old the stake value does not increase (i.e. more than 30 days old counts as 30 days old)

Once the stake happens, some part of your coins (let's say it will be 50 CACH) will turn into "mined by stake" and will increase their value. So instead of 50 coins that can be just sent as payment you will suddenly have between 50.05 - 50.21 coins based on coin age - but these will need 520 confirmation before you can manipulate them (either sending them or hoping for another stake from them)

Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand that. But, I don't want my coins to be reserved for stake, as I can't wait for 520 confirmations because I have to use them next monday.

According to Snard, using that code I will be able to send them on monday right? Do I need to open my wallet like that before I withdraw my coins from Cryptsy? Or do I always need to open my wallet like that?

Thanks guys Smiley

if you're going to keep the coins there untill monday only, you needn't worry about stake, as the transaction will be newer than 7 days, and thus will not be eligible for staking

the "reserve" will reserve your coins NOT to stake. The wallet then won't try to stake blocks (also, your wallet needs to be active for stake to have chance to occur). Or if you set the reserve to amount less than your wallet balance, the wallet will try to stake coins, but it will ensure that the reserve balance will be always at your disposal.

If by Monday you mean the Monday that will be in 3 days, then don't worry. 3 days old coin cannot generate any stakes. 7 days is minimum for that Smiley

Allright. Everything is clear for me now.

I dont have to set the reserve balance, as I won't keep the coins in my wallet for longer than 7 days. I mean the monday in a few days indeed Wink.,

Thanks!

Kinda annoyed and a little bit concerned. There is no officially published information on staking or figures regarding it. This is a POS coin yet so many people are not getting stakes..

Can a dev chime in on this issue? Or anyone who has any info?
