People in this coin can do more than just wait to effect the success of this coin. Success of the coin is driven by the individuals who believe in it's success. Unlike large corp stocks where you can't really affect anything... the volume is low enough that you can influence the market, as an individual backer. A lot of times this whole crypto market reminds me of penny stocks (watch wolf of wallstreet). The more support, tools, and "culture" this coin has, the more successful it will be. So if you want to move the price: - if you are a writer: write some press releases, blog about it - if you are a programmer: write a cool app for vertcoin, android/ios.. casino, games that take vertcoin. - if you are an artist: make some cool memes, graphics - Tweet / facebook share / like.. just get the word out there. - if you can't do any of that: then bug other people to do it for you Talk about it with coworkers/friends/miners .. convince them of VTC's future. Just buying, selling or even holding.. is just an attempt to wait for others to do those things... whereas you can take control of the situation yourself.

Nethashrate dropped from 5+gh/s few days ago to 3,5gh/s at the moment, more vtc being mined, gox bullshit, so the price is falling..that's simple as that...I sold most of my vtc for 0,013 and I'm slowly think about buyng back, but as long as nethashrate is dropping we won't see any upward movement due too many generated coins going straight to market..
p.s. nethashrate stabilized since yesterday in 3,5gh/s range...if it's stay like that for next couple of days it would be good to start buying vtc again.
I'm a noob about to school a miner on hash rates so forgive the arrogance but you're wrong. If that were at all true no coin value would go up because the difficulty always increases. If BTC hadn't got the tar kicked out of it and panic selling were not in full force the correction would have ended around .075 where it turned hard south on the chart instead of north. Not that we can know that for sure but that dominated all other factors. Look we have been listed on all the right exchanges (which does not include crypled) in record time and there is still much bafflement outside the initiated as to how and why vtc rocked it out of the gate. The supply of coins here is nil compared to any of the rest when you relativize it to demand potential. Obviously more coins is selling pressure but easily absorbed if the mood is right in the market. Just had very negative mood since Gox. I will add the BTC chart is terrifying me a little, but it really always has so it's nothing to take into account... aside from I am sure others are seeing the same technical picture as I am and wondering if there is a bubble bursting. Same has been said time and again of btc though so will cross fingers and hope the trend resumes.

You must learn that once coin pick up some momentum, difficulty (thus nethashrate) is highly correlated with price...How do You think, what have driven BTC prise so high? ASICS...sooner scrypt asics will be relases, sooner VTC go sky-high.

Hi all. Seems like for once in my life, my timing is good. Just now paying attention to Vert and buying some on bter.
I have a question about the windows qt wallet. Is it supposed to be reinstalling each time I open it? It always starts with the setup wizard. None of my other qt wallets do this, I normally just open them and they synchronize.
Also, can someone recommend a good pool? I will be using cudaminer.
Glad to be here, not sure how I neglected Vert earlier.

Try vtcpool.co.uk. So far a great experience. Boris keeps things running smooth.

Can anyone please help me. I'm only getting 240khs per 290s and i have 4 r9 290s. heres my spec.. and i have 4gb of ram running windows 7 64 bit
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 "C:\Users\Mining Rig 1\Desktop\vertminer-0.5.3\vertminer.exe" -o stratum+tcp://s.ny.vertco.in:3333 -u danielbui.1 -p 123 -I 13 -g 1 -w 512 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8191 --gpu-engine 947 --gpu-memclock 1250 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 83 --temp-target 75
I suggest you edit your post first and leave out your username/pw Then try to lower the -w to 256 and edit your Thread concurrency to 8192 thanks, got up to 260khs.. it is possible to get to 440khs? Yeah, R9 290 here too. With your settings, and the amended settings above, I'm only able to push 260kh/s too. I think you should try to get your GPu engine/memclock back to stock settings and tweak it from there. You've got them really low atm. I've also seen people using I-17 or even higher with the 290's how much ram do you have? if i set I to 14 ill get HW [/quote I've got 5 x r9 290's 8GB Ram Windows 8.1 TC24000,,GPU-engin 1000, Memclock 1250 and I19 Getting 433 each card. Whatever I do in with my own computation, VTC is still more profitable than DOGE... like more than twice? correct me if I'm wrong.

Most people hopped on the maxcoin train including myself, which was extremely profitable. Once that dies down miners will be back Hashrate will go up and so will the price, think of this as an opportunity to buy in low.
