A lot of ppl seem to be "let down" after realizing the latest Roadmap does not indicate a quick, explosive burst to the stratosphere. Upsetting as it may be to some isn't it more profitable to grow at a steady pace? Yes. Consider this...Bitcoin was launched in January, 2009. DigiByte is a valued crypto. So be patient all naysayers.

And not only has it taken Bitcoin this long to gain any ground, it's still mentally/socially "accepted" by less than 1% of the population (meaning it still has a long way to go).  Wink

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

check to make sure you have latest wallet which should be v4.0.3.0, you will need to update if your version is earlier. If while syncing with blockchain wallet appears to freeze for a long period, just shut it down and restart it again. It can sometimes take a considerable amount of time to sync for first time depending on your machine and connection.

Hello and congratulations on the three year mark.
Is this team still running the Digibyte Gaming site?
My payouts and my friends are getting rejected, regardless of game.

Okay here it is.

DigiElectrum v2.7.13.1

https://github.com/protonn/digielectrum/releases

We need more servers. Please check here to host a server https://github.com/protonn/electrum-dgb-server

Let me know of any issues

Enjoy!

Wow! very nice, using this wallet I could move my coins from my chrome wallet. I only needed to import my seed.
Thank you very much!
You rock!

You bet.

It was a much needed feature for DGB.

Ask for some of that $250k funding. Jared and his team have done nothing for 6 months.

I wouldn't say nothing they have no doubt brought up many of the cheap dgb from last month and also had a fantastic holididays with hookers and blow, do you blame him?

I had v4.0.3.0 version wallet -> solved by deleting all files except wallet.dat and again sync from first block

Now i have another problem. When starting mining by wallet i can connect only 4 comps. Trying: allowreceivebyip=20 ; maxconnections=20  , all time only 4 rigs mining...

Are you able to ping the rigs that will not mine from the rig the wallet is on? And vise versa?

I'm just starting in mining and trying to bring it to positive cashflow before I invest in bigger miners.  Been mining this at cryptopools with an old Antminer S1 that I was using at Kano.is and MMpool.org to bring in some additional hasing but it's good to mine DBG because it helps diversification and can be used for trading other coins.  It's not a bad return in colder months.

My son has made over 30,000 dgb since it was started. He and his friends think it's great, it's free money to them, even with the few bugs that happen every now and again.
The site has always been in beta, which means there will be bugs. If there is an issue contact support via the gaming site, they will help to fix the problem.

We have just pushed an update to the DigiByte Gaming Wallet to fix the transaction proposal issue people were having:

1) Make sure to back up your wallets seed phrase (Settings Icon -> Backup)

2) Go to Chrome store, update wallet & make sure you are on version 1.8.9 https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/digibyte-gaming-wallet/lpmijfncbdjhcbockhipcncnhfgghkoj

Lets us know if you have any more issues.  Thanks for supporting DigiByte Gaming!

Thank you all for your continued support and for being here for 3 years!  DGB is now officially 3 years old! Join us for the 1st ever DGB Roundtable live broadcast.  Anyone can join the discussion and join the chat to ask questions!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFrmY7YFyis

I have 2 questions.

1. Why is development slow with 5-6 people working on DGB?
2. Why does dgb need more crowdfunding when they received $250k in 2014? The $250k investment has not done anything , what will another $250k really help?

First, thank you for taking the time to ask the question. Second thank you for supporting DGB!

As mentioned in the original CoinDesk Press release: http://www.coindesk.com/digibyte-raises-250k-altcoin-retail-payments/

Quote
The funds will be used by the DigiByte developers as part of a push to upgrade the core functionality of the project's code and develop new services on top of its infrastructure.

Key phrase here: "develop new services on top of its infrastructure"

$250 K (from a private investor) would cover 3 quality developers & company expenses for about a year in Silicon Valley. It costs about 3k a month for a developer simply to live there.  We are now three years later. For those who are not aware, these are the platforms and upgrades that have been created since then:

Core Protocol:
Multi-Algo Hard Fork (Multi-Algo mining)
Multi-Shield Hard Fork (Multi-Shield difficulty adjustment)
DigiSpeed Hard Fork (Increased speed & scalability)
Upcoming 4.1.3 Release

Result = DigiByte is now the longest and most proven scalable public PoW blockchain in existence with over 3.7 million blocks and a capacity of 300 TPS currently.

"new services on top of its infrastructure"
DigiByte Gaming
DiguSign
DigiExplorer
DigiByte.co (2 New Websites)
DigiByte Gaming Wallet (Multiple Phases)
iOS Wallet
Android SPV Wallet Upgrades & Maintenance
Tofugear Retail Payments Integration (we really need to promote this more)
DigiPay Payment Processor
DigiByte Market
DigiTradeX (Fully functioning exchange developed and tested, never released due to regulatory burdens and requirements for USD to DGB)
Original DigiByteTip Platform
Upcoming Digi-ID and Digi-2FA
Numerous conferences, marketing materials and presentations have been paid for to promote DGB. Not to mention the DGB we have paid out to bring 40,000 new gamers into the Digi ecosystem.

All DGB we have has been purchased on the market, there was no ICO or Pre-Mine held on to support development once this group emerged. (0.5 percent was given away and used for initial wallets the first 6 weeks. All documented publicly as most of you know, check the first page)

All the above services require hosting & maintenance costs.  At one point our combined server expenses were over $1,000 USD.  We have also sponsored and helped community projects whenever possible.

As for us "crowd funding".  We are working to build a thriving ecosystem outside of "us".  Name one other cryptocurrency where a handful of people have done all the above.  Each of those services could easily use a team of 20 people to really be taken to their full potential with millions in investment for each one. Simply look at individual platforms in the BTC community, and the teams and funding behind each one.

Quote
2. Why does dgb need more crowdfunding when they received $250k in 2014? The $250k investment has not done anything, what will another $250k really help?

DigiByte is decentralised and we want to grow the community to take on their own projects and help build a true, decentralised future. This platform is to allow individuals to "crowd-fund" their own ideas and projects.  For others to take initiative.  Nowhere are "we" asking for another 250K from anyone.

Hopefully this clears some things up.

I used to support DGB, but why invest anything more in a coin that has only lost value since day one? Your 32 sats from 0, at this point. If I were an investor, this would have been a clear indication of complete and total failure. DGB has pumped and dumped all the way down the hill. There has been no innovation whatsoever. Had this all been done a few years ago, you would be ahead of the game by now. Congrats on 3 years of blockchain - pat yourself on the back for a few code changes and ripping-off technology that already existed.

Seriously, $250k and this is all you have to show for it?  Roll Eyes Had you paid me $250k for a year, you would have had all kinds of features and services by now. I call BS.

A steep downward spiral into uselessness is pretty the only driving force, so you must have taken the money an ran. A slow, convincing scam, but scam nonetheless.

Why invest in this coin at all? What does it offer now and what is it going to offer in the future? What advancements in blockchain technology set it up to be so invaluable? It has absolutely no advantage.

I should add, volume speaks. Have you checked that statement lately?

I 'double' your BS and raise you!

Any in-depth analysis of DigiByte will show that it is actually healthily growing. In this early phase it looks like bitcoin is creating the growth because DigiByte price has not dramatically increased or decreased in relation to it. This will not last forever and dgb will eventually rise in relation to btc, considerably. DigiByte is on target…look closer!

I can't advise you on your evaluation of performance. You can proudly throw all your cash into a black hole, but it's still a black hole. I'm not sure which econ 101 course you've taken, but this coin is a prime example of failure to launch.
