They say they don't want just another pump and dump coin.

Price increasing significantly. I wonder if there are people in the know already or the price jump is based purely on speculation.

It is not a speculation... DGB is showing the quality in an organic way... I think the new bottom is coming soon around 75 Satoshi. Then 100, then 150....... 1k Huh

@Digibyte, now is when you drop an announcement/update post. If you want to ignite the rockets to the moon, you should do that today.

They need to put a graph that shows the DGB supply in the next 20 years. People are now looking at the max number of 21 bil, then looking at 1bil only mined so far and think this is going to get a huge inflation.

It's interesting to see the price rise in the last couple of hours here.

Now, the team put out a message yesterday morning about good news coming - price hardly moved (+-5 SAT)

Come today, when the issue of blocks solved per hour is lower than expected, and there's 100% price rise......

Maybe I can't see the tree for the woods here, but when there's good news (yesterday), no-one pays attention, but when there's some bad news, people are flooding in to buy!

How is there being less coins bad news if you're the first one to realize it? Smiley

If the number of coins is always shown (ie http://altexplorer.net/chain/DigiByte/) then I guess it's how you base your valuation - but the number of blocks issued is always shown in the block explorer.....
The issue with the number of blocks being mined every hour, if wrong, would be, to me, a negative point (ie not working correctly)

I'm looking forward to the actual news from the Devs. I've built up my stash from trading, so any price rise is always welcome Smiley

to be honest I also thought it wasn't very positive, I have just 3 confirms on a transaction from 15mins ago

This was all a MintPal operation. Cryptsy lagged substantially, all the way, and was obviously a sympathy play, or arbitrage as they call it. This has all the characteristics of an intentional pump and I would be very careful. The base I described held after the breakout above descending resistance and a backtest. From a technical standpoint, this is very textbook, but the single exchange gunning OVERNIGHT creating a setup for an awakening US market has me very suspicious. With the algo change from scrypt to scrypt+ (scrypt plus a couple of other algos meaning that it's still scrypt in essence) and other obvious issues like the nagging question as to how the Dev team could possibly be unaware of the blocks solved issue . . . and if they were, well, I don't know if that's not even worse - both are horrible indications long term. I'm 100% out. Sorry, I was looking for something ex-scrypt to begin with, and now with serious doubts about the long term prospects, I can't justify holding DGB. Good luck to everyone who stays.

Nobody outside of the crypto world cares about algo changes etc. what makes or breaks the current price is the LA deal that Jared hinted about.

Not gonna lie shooting up 100% for no real reason makes me want to sell and buy back in when the correction comes.  Don't get me wrong seeing some trade action for once is nice and I do think the 30s was too low but 80s are too high for overnight growth.

If there is a problem, it's nothing that can't be fixed at this point, all cryptos are still in development phase. Really, this shouldn't matter at all.

A fix to this problem will increase inflation by hundreds of percent. Yeah, I'm not an optimist that these prices currently will sustain but nice rally anyway! Tongue

By the way, confirmations now with increased network activity take ridiculous amount of time.

Why use DigiByte?
1) Speed
"DigiBytes are confirmed after 6 minutes vs. 1 hour with Bitcoins"

Don't konw about that. Been waiting more than an hour for a DigiByte transaction. Can't say it's very impressive.

You can stop waiting. By the time you get your coins to mintpal it's back to 40 sat again.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. A lot of people are interested to know what is this "brick and mortar" deal that Jared said was bigger than anything bitcoin has.

We are working on driving retail adoption for #DigiByte that will surpass evan #bitcoin for brick & mortar stores! #litecoin
