Currently mining with a few rigs with 7970 and 7950 cards, friend of mine owns a pair of 5870's and wants to mine UTC too.
But I can't seem to get the cards running with cgminer, anyone with a good stable config for these cards please?

Try the auto conf tool thirtybird made...it was posted in this thread a page or two back.

China ban really isn't the problem. The problem is the rest of the world is scared of the ban. Chinese can still buy, hold, sell, and use btc, just not through the banks. China's economy is on the brink of collapse and the communists are scared. So when it does, cryptos all the way! I know this because I own a scrap yard and the banks of china use copper to back all their money, and they aren't buying nearly as much copper. Copper price is down 15% from its $3.40 highs before the chinese 2 week new year shutdown. Also the chinese falsify their ''copper buying'' orders and double on paper what they actually buy and sell, so collapse is inevitable, I think earliest in 2 years.

Greetings miners

We are giving the wallet a major overhaul in 3 phases, Phase 1 has just been completed.

We are writing you to inform you that we are going to decrease the blockreward from 50 to 15,the reason for this is that the price or Ultracoin simply can not rise with this model.

In the current model there are 144000 UTC minted per day as opposed to a 25000 in Litecoin for example. In the current model where the block reward is 50, there wil be 52560000 UTC minted in year 1 alone, which is over 50%.

If we continue on this path all UTC will be mined within just a few years, we can not allow this to happen.

We hope you (the miners) will understand that this is in the best interest of the coin, and we hope you will remove your sell orders so that the price can rise to a healthy equilibrium.

The price is way to low at the moment (also becasue the daily supply is flushing yout the demand).

The current model is not healthy and unsustainable.so please think about the future of ultracoin and stop selling UTC so cheap. As long as there are low ball sell orders , people will buy low, and the price will not rise.Nobody will pay 2 dollar for hamburger if they can buy it for 5 cent.

We hope you wont quit mining Ultracoin since the miners are the backbone of the operation.

Thank you from Michael, UTC founder & Team UTC

Below another preview on the awesome upcoming arbitrage tool made be one of the heroes of UTC, Dcgirl!

Is something wrong with Nitro 2? I can't log in, it says invalid passed despite using my KeePass generated password, auto login with Chrome and even the contact form fails.

Of course, I was buying and then stopped.  I pushed it as high as I could.  Trying to help out as best I can.  Believe it or not, not everyone reads the UTC thread.  So buying will commence once the word is out.

The new devs are on track and are making great progress!

here is a sneak preview on the coincontrol feauture. it allows you to save up old coins and spend new coins, so you can have maximum benefit of the POS side of UTC!

Arrrggghhhh FFS! tried sending some BTC to Cryptsy from my ultibit wallet and it's got stuck some how Sad
Cryptsy is showing .2 BTC as pending, the transaction has been seen by 6 peers now but no confirmations, and to top it all off, the "change" from the transaction hasn't hit back in my wallet, so it is saying I have .599 BTC, but 0 spendable, anyone else had a problem like this before?
Was trying to buy up some UTC with what little BTC I had left, but that's out the window currently as I can't get to any of it Sad

**EDIT** and as always, I moan about it and it starts to move :p 1 confirmation at last, wallet is useable again, just need to wait for funds to appear at Cryptsy so I can buy some thing , yay Smiley
