Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Team UTC has generously donated 1,4BTC , although i did not feel right about it since they already do so much....

so we made it once again!

UTC has a wonderfull community and i hope more and more people are starting to realise this....

Everyone, please try the Reddit Ultracoin Tip Bot out and start tipping. (even to other coin users so we get more exposure!)
http://www.reddit.com/r/official_utc/comments/22e8y6/ultracoin_reddit_tip_bot_in_open_beta/

How to get started! - Tip or get tipped in UTC!

1. Create a reddit account if you don't already have one.
http://www.reddit.com/

2. Use following link and just hit send to register:
http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=ultracoin_tip&subject=register&message=%2Bregister

3. Check your wallet address & balance by sending the following message then later checking your inbox:
http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=ultracoin_tip&subject=info&message=%2Binfo

4. Deposit some UTC to your tip bot wallet address from the info you received.

5. Start tipping someone by writing a comment to a post/reply with:
+/u/ultracoin_tip <amount> utc
<amount> is the amount of utc you wish to tip. e.g. +/u/ultracoin_tip 10 utc

May be it is only me but I think that this is the only coin that cannot be dumped by the multipools, goes with less heat and less consumption, and does instant transactions. All this makes it very comfortable for mining and using.

It would be nice to be able to lock a set amount of coins in the wallet for the use of stake, and there would then also be a password and a warning text that says that the timer on these coins will now be reset when moving them out of the "vault". Sure I could have a separate wallet for staking my coins but implementing it into the wallet would be much cooler

Pretty sure you can do that right now. I dont think there is a "timer" or anything but if you go into the console to the cmd prompt you can type 'help' to see available commands. I think you can set a base amount of coins to be kept for POS.

Shouldn't there be update for wallet right about now ?

You missed it

Phase 1 of the wallet update is complete!

This update is not mandatory but highly recommended.....

The following points have been adressed in this update:

phase 1: Checkpoints, stake modifiers and splash build error.

Increased version to 1.0.1.0 and updated minimum protocol version

I have tested this new build and it communicates with the old chain, you can send UTC from and to an un-updated wallet.

Once you delete everything except the wallet.dat file from the ultracoin folder, start the new client, the new client then updates the chain and the wallet

Step 1 : Type %appdata% in the windows search box (you see it when you click the start button)

Step 2 : Find the ultracoin folder

Step 3 : Copy the wallet.dat into a backup folder, do NOT delete or cut it!

Step 4 : Delete everything in the appdata/ultracoin, but DO NOT DELETE THE WALLET.DAT

Step 5 : Download this file http://www.speedyshare.com/SdmKg/ultracoin-1.0.1.0-windows-qt.rar

Step 6 : Extract the folder from the download somewhere, now drag the Ultracoin-qt.exe from the new download into your normal wallet folder (not into the
appdata/ultracoin folder but your wallet folder)

Step 7 : Click yes when it asks do you want to replace the file.

Step 8 : Start the wallet,it will now download the entire blockchain again (this will take some time).

DONE.
