So what your saying is all coins = failed?
Your about as positive as a flat battery, stop moaning and go enjoy the outside world for a bit, you obviously hate crypto Smiley

its to cold outside right now to go out.. im saying that a coin needs innovation to appeal in the long term not just a copy of a bunch of other coins with premine and a moderator to delete my posts.

If you look at any coin on Cryptsy over the last month, 99% of them show the same downward trend.  The market glut of altcoins is finally reaching a reckoning.  It was inevitable.  When people were willing to invest in every new reward scheme, every new coin that claimed even one thing over other coins, no matter how irrelevant to its acceptance as a currency -- the dilution of all alt coins was guaranteed.

Now with scrypt-Asics coming, most alt coins finish their death spiral.  There will be no new scrypt coins you can hop on to that can make you a profit as a gpu miner as one KNC will match the entire network of some dying coins or slow startups.  Only Doge and Litecoin will survive in the scrypt world.

So now we're seeing the the same thing repeat with Scrypt-N and Scrypt-Jane coins.  Since that's what GPU's can mine now.  Rinse repeat.

Accept I don't think it will repeat this time, at least not with the GPU fueled ecstasy of the scrypt run.  People are more jaded, the trajectory of a coin after launch almost always goes down, and after 100's of scrypt coins just go to zero, I think less people will be willing to support some random coin with cloned features again.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Does anyone actually know the owner of utc.pool.pm?  Can someone let him know his pool website is down for over 2 days?

It has died
Pray for it

It works fine for me.

i agree.. if your concerned about asics i would join a coin like vtc or some other that has a following and a long term trend of stability as well as a btc trade history .. adding a little speed to the transfers wont bring this coin back up when you add premine

I had to buy WDC and send it to a different exchange to get some BTC  Cry

UTC will be alive and kickin for a while I think, same with Yac...Miners will go mine scrypt n coins which are easier to tune and leave scrypt-chacha to more dedicated people.  Cool

nice one for the heads up, if you hadn't said that, I was about to trade for LTC and try transfering that out :p

And, to top it all off, I can't get the bleeding Mac wallet to open at the minute, keeps getting stuck on "Verifying block index" thinking of deleting the index and letting it sort itself out, need to get some coins out of Cryptsy also Smiley

I would worry much more about Scrypt coins right now given there's been a successful 51% attach on AUR it seems:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=546338.0
I am still reading the thread so maybe things are not so critical as they may seem, but in a nutshell someone has brought 16GH and successfully made a 51% attack.
As a matter of fact their blockchain is now forked.

Seems like only LTC has enough hashpower to resist such attack.

There's something worrying here for UTC given the NITRO1 pool...
But essentially this means that Scrypt coins could all be at risk.
This is a bad bad news, but not so bad for coins that are not based on Scrypt, like UTC.

Let's wait until market reaction. After all FTC is not (yet) dead whereas it suffered such a blow...

there was a guy on the wafflepool that had 16GH at his disposal, I wonder if it the same person, seems mighty coincedental that it was 16GH, same as him.

I think  "Block reward: 50, halving every 990,000 blocks" = "Block reward: 50, halving every 190,000 blocks" --> ...will help UTC better!!!

I'm new - in the terms of buying in off other currency I've sold at a loss.

It's all relative though.

I've got to say that once I found this coin - about 2 days ago. I've been shocked at the organization and development of the system.
Ultracoin is years ahead already, compared to the majority of other altcoins out there.

And this coin has day trader currency written all over it! Which is awesome

I can't day trade. And top economists will tell you that (statistically) you will never make more money than from what you do as a profession/career.

 - So let's ride out the current trend
 - Let the day traders come to realization that Ultracoin has fastest transaction times, which means getting money faster into the pump and dump system - which is how they make their money, and they have every right to do if that is their profession.
 - And for the long term investors, realize that we've potentially have only a couple months before the big dog BTC is due for a big rise which will pull everything with it.

Is anyone doing anything to get ultracoin accepted for paying for goods and services? Seems like its only going down. Wonder where/when is the $2 happening....

I sell videogames on Amazon UK (user name GinaMoo) am happy to sell anything on there for the corresponding amount of UTC to people in the thread (or anyone else who can message me on here) will agree a rate of exchange between anyone who is interested, unfortunately I don't have my own website or I would be more than happy to accept it as standard.

maybe make a thread on UTC forum ... If they ever make an Trade thread for Buy / Sell
