i thought locked and encrypted were the same thing!?? The passprase locks and encrypts it
No the password encrypts it, the passphrase unlocks it for minting but your wallet is still encrypted

I'm currently getting 60kh on 1 x R9 290.(No overclocking) - This is from some settings posted earier

Is anyone getting anymore? ... and would be willing to help me out
BTW - i have 16GB of RAM - but will be using it on an 8GB system

Thanks
I'm currently getting 81 kh on 2 x R9 290.(No overclocking)

Is that 81kh on each card?
yes

Do you want to share your settings? Smiley

So does anyone else have any settings for R9 290s? That gives over 60
Its getting a real pain having to restart the computer each time the settings dont work Sad

It depends on your cards memory and your system settings but just use -g 1 and use a thread concurrency in multiples of your cards shader count. At g 1 the tc will be high but after each increase in tc setting you should check to see how much of your cards memory is being used. Scrypt cacha 101

You can disable the gpu in the control panel and enable it again to avoid restarting the pc (winblows).

Can be done via cmd as well, using a bat to automate the process. You need something called devcon.
Google it, can't remember where I got it from.

It would be interesting if the latest changes to the yacoin client could be implemented in UTC. Coin control, and more advanced staking features.

http://whatmine.com/

UTC most profitable to mine

Thats because it hasnt taken into account the n-factor change Smiley

It doesn't have to, the user needs to update their Scrypt-Jane hashrate setting.  Once you do it settles back down to a sane value ... 3rd place or so for me.  Nothing wrong with the site.

Does it still work with the modded CG Miner? I kept lowering my TC settings but still only getting hardware error

It will work simply by lowering the Intensity by 1.
But it won't get you the most optimal hash rate.

I was getting about 20 mB/day before the change, after dropping my intensity by 1 and putting my new hashrate in whatmine, I am again getting about 20 mB/day ... seems pretty optimal to me!  Even if I could squeak a tiny bit more out, I can't be bothered to spend hours tweaking it when what I've got is already the third or so most profitable thing I could mine.  The time spent tweaking and the coins lost during that time would probably outweigh what I would gain in even a month of mining with the slightly improved hashrate.

Bumface and Nitro dev's have done what they can with the hashrate problem

It's the miner's who are at fault
guys we are aware of the hashrate distribution, and we are working on solutions.

but at the end of the day its the miners that choose were to mine, this is not nitro`s fault....

this is a self perpetuating situation, nobody leaves nitro becasue they dont want orphans at other pools, but if enough people left, those other pools wont even have any orphans..

I can not force people to switch, i paid 5000 UTC to move people......

If miners refuse to leave my hands are tied

+1 miners move ya ass spread the hash
There is no reason to change pool and lose 7%+.
I'll move if the Nitro fee is higher than orphans on other pools, so 10% fee, 15%-20% would have a much quicker effect. Fee could be made variable based on percentage of network hash power, similar to what GHash.io did with Litecoin bonus rewards.
How much was 5000UTC at the time - $500-$750? Hardly a substantial incentive when spread among the large miners.

What if u only have p2pools? It automatic spread the hashrate right?

If only a couple of miners leave nitro, they just have less coins on other pools,  so they don't go away.
I also like the suggestion u mention similar to ghash.io, change the blockreward on nitro of hashrate network. Maybe miners will leave then. If nothing change they don't leave.

Guys, trust me, use yacminer 3.5...it's way more intuitive to just set a lookup-gap value and a buffer-size one and then work on tuning -R (rawintensity). Should be using multiples of the worksize and that's about it.

I tried but I can't make it work. Have you got a config for a 7950?

Glad you got it working but I'm not going from 93kh/s on the last n factor to 28kh/s on this one. I'm going somewhere else until someone can find settings that will produce at least 38-40 kh/s with no HW errors. I tried for 5 hours to no avail.

He did not say yes at this time....stay tuned

Hey some 290 settings, this will give 62khash at 977core :

--scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -I 16 -g 1 -w 64 --thread-concurrency 85000 --lookup-gap 3

This is better than going 90000 TC with lookup-gap 4. Itensity of 17 and higher slows the system by a huge amount(at least for me). There may be room for improvement but I have already achieved 280x/290 ratio of 0.81. I have 8gb of ram + 16gb of pagefile(set as a constant).

Cause people keep asking for 290 settings.

Also I have played a lot with 280x both lg=3 and lg=4 and these seem to yield best results(they are not mine): I agree its time to go yacminer, with default cgminer there are not enough options to tune intensity.

--scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -I 12 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 32768 --lookup-gap 4

https://whattomine.com - Check what to mine Smiley

The last parameter in the ['walletpassphrase' yourpassword '999999999' true] is what unlocks it for minting.  The true/false flag is "true" for minting only, or "false" for just keep it unlocked for some specified amount of seconds.

I'm pulling that from memory, but I think that's correct.

your tc is still way to low, at -g 1 you would only be utilizing 3gb of memory. If your card has 4gb of memory and 2048 shaders your tc  should be upwards of 80000, lookup gap 3
