0.1% per week is too little. 0.2% per week is much better
I think you will find that an annual return of 5.2% is actually pretty good, a savings account with a bank will get you less.

Great new. But it is summer now, VGA card is so hot, if UTC can change to x11, I'll back.
X11 has a much lower ASIC resistance compared to scrypt-jane. What UTC needs is a X11 multipool now so that miners like you who want to use X11 for the time being can use that, however remain onto scrypt-jane as the most ASIC resistant algo there is. x11 wil be incoorporated into the multipool, yes. so miners can still benefit indirectly.

Nice update Bumface. I have been an Ultracoin supporter from way before the coin was released, I did my fair share of advertising (which is all I can do due to the lack of time). But I got to be honest, I can't really recommend Ultracoin to anyone at this moment, as I'm sure you understand if u look at UTC as a community member at this very moment. The update is nice and promising, but as long as there's no buy support and no change in source code, I can't tell anyone to invest in this, because I'm not sure it's a good investment... Sadly I had a meeting yesterday, so I couldn't make it to the IRC discussion.
One of the biggest problems, in my humble opinion, is that you don't have a wallet developer who is devoted to UTC. You pay someone to do this, he sees it as a job to be done. I think UTC needs a (wallet) developer who actually wants this coin to be succesfull, and doesn't require BTC for every single change he has to make. I do not mean to offend DCGirl and xwebhosting. The arb tool, the website, the mining configurator,... are GREAT. You both did a very, very good job on this. I'm only talking about the wallet.
I still hold a few UTC, and will hold this for a long time, but there have to be some changes. Marketting is the key word from now on (imo). I still support UTC and will keep on advertising it and recommending it as soon as I see the changes taking place.
I really hope I didn't attack someone personally, this is just the way I see UTC right now.

WHY WE ARE ASKING YOU TO VOTE We are asking for votes for coinpayments.net, because coin payments is a payment processor. If they list us, then UTC can be used by any of their partners.
WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT WE NEED YOU TO VOTE The #1 most critical thing in the evolution of ultracoin is to have a payment processor. Not only does it let utc holders actually spend their utc, but it also shows us to be a legitimate coin.
WHY A SUCH LOW DONATION OF (ONLEY) $ 0.88 AND WHAT ARE WE HELPING WHIT IT Coin payments has decided to give all vote donations to the Water Project, instead of keeping those coins for themselves. The water project has nothing to do with anything else. SO WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO BEFORE (EDIT) SATERDAY
VOTE, VOTE AND VOTE..... --> THE PROCES OF VOTING TAKES YOU ONLEY 5 MINUTES ( don't forget it takes three emails from Coinpayments you have all to confirm If you don't confirm the last email your vote will not be counted !!!!) --> THE DONATION COST YOU ONLEY AS LITTLE AS $ 0,88 CENTS We have only had one vote in the last 24 hours, lets not be complacent. Getting on CoinPayments is very important and raises the coins profile. All this talk about appealing to miners is not something I'm overly convinced about, with multi-pools now widespread miners just look for the most profitable coin to make a quick buck, why appeal to these individuals. As the CoinPayments clearly shows we have just 60+ people who actually care about the coin long term rather than making a short buck after a couple of days. DCGirl is providing unique opportunities for Ultracoin and spreading the word on Twitter, all do the same and the word will spread KC

Any ideas ? Official twitter tipbot to pay out promos and competitions? Would attract new followers and give it more of a presence on twitter. Should be affordable and the bounty is 1000 UTC already. Probably more visible than handling payouts on bitcointalk.

WALLET DEVELOPMENT UPDATE:
Okay, so our community chat session was wildly successful and we all agreed to implement the following: NFACTOR - 1 less from what it is now, effective for 12 months POS - 7 day POS system at 5.2% per year, which equates to 0.1% per 7 days. Max time = 30 days No change to # of coins or ratio for now The POS modifications are implemented and being tested. More news to follow on this. Expect an update shortly! NFACTOR is actually far more complex than originally thought. Turns out dialing back could have severe, potentially crippling, repercussions. We are investigating how to work through this, if at all possible. That being said: NFACTOR will change as scheduled this Saturday, May 24th, 2014 @ 03:15:12pm UTC. We cannot risk crippling the entire blockchain in an attempt to force this revision. When the NFACTOR changes, please use the config generator to update your miners! http://ultracoin.net/configgen_raw.htmlTo summarize, the wallet update will, for now, include only the POS modifications, NFACTOR changes are being discussed, and NFACTOR will shift this Saturday. We will keep you all posted otherwise. Thank you for your continued support!

We will keep you all posted otherwise. Thank you for your continued support! I'm not sure why the N-factor change has to be so complicated. I'm getting ready to go home for a long, long weekend but, if I remember correctly, there is just a convoluted function that has a bunch of arbitrary calculations that result in a block heights to change the N-factor at. The point is, I thought it just returned nFactor and all the other things that used that value derived it from that function. Why couldn't you just comment that all out and hardcode in the return value to be the N-factor you want it to be, aka 12? Obviously, this would be a mandatory wallet update. No ones wallet would work on the old N-factor so you'd have to set it at a date in the near future.

Its unfortunate to see you folks leaving. But, alas, that's your decision. Hopefully our future developments will give you a reason to come back. I'd highly recommend you keep an eye out at the very least!

This is when I say goodbye, it was a fun ride.. Price is too low to sell, so holding out. I have faith in the coin (and even more so in the team behind it) and well, if it goes where I think it's going, my bet will have paid off....if it doesn't , well it was a fun ride, bu there is no point getting off a ride just coz it's slowed down.

Alt market is tough business. All alt threads are full of crying now. Except for DRK Cheesy If this is too hard for you, better to leave all alts. I'm still holding. Lost a lot until now but it makes no sense to sell at this price.
