Community IRC Chat Tonight

There will be a community IRC chat tonight, at 6PM EDT, for community members to share concerns, hear what the Dev team is working on and ask questions. Please feel free to join us at:

http://webchat.freenode.net/

Channel: #ultracoin

UPDATE: Please join us if you can, we will be discussing timing of a very important update to the coin.

Note to those of you in the EU and other timezones, apologies if this is too late for you. We will be hosting these more often and will try to change the times so everyone can attend at least some of these. And, please be aware that we are currently assessing options to provide a more interactive community discussion area.

Hi there,
Long time no see, been kind of busy and still am.
Anyway, wanted to share with you that there was this crazy 10'000BTC pizza day anniversary a few days ago.
I asked to myself: why not making the 10'000UTC pizza day someday? Someone willing to spend 10kUTC on a pizza?
Then all we need is advertise the fact that we got the pizza warm and not cold because payment was so quick, hehe

Dude, that is funny....

...Wait what is this...

"Face it: this coin is dying.

Bipolar much lol?

I own quite a few of those coins bought and mined. I carry on mining it btw.
So as much as it pains me I know what I'm talking about: this coin is dying. What could prove me wrong?
The first step in trying to stop a disease is to recognize there is a disease.
Right now UTC is sick, mostly because it lacks visibility.
There would be a few ways to fix this, all boiling down to one simple thing: marketing.
Therefore, what's the plan besides hiring the marketing team of the failed DOGE thing?

At work, no time to participate because of constant interruptions.
However one simple thing: make the stakes more frequent.
So far 1 year has proven to be too long.
Make it 1 week or 1 day, not 3 months.
3 months is still an eternity.
1week or once a day is what people are sued to in the fast moving crypto world.

Moreover, there's one thing that is too fast with this coin: the n-factor change: slow it down a bit, make n-factor changes at least every 3 to 6 months.

PS: you rock dcgirl, you're a fantastic member for this community. Take care.

Why would I invest money in UTC over the 500+ other options?

UTC is about to be delisted from Poloniex on May 24th. The coin is slowly dying as well as my BTC and mining time invested in it. Sad

I blame too fast N-factor change. It has became unrealistically difficult to mine it since the last N-factor change. I have several single-7950 PCs for mining. And they simply have too many stales at the current N-factor and block time. You need to have multi-GPU mining farm to successfully mine UTC now. I stopped mining UTC since the last N-factor change. And I guess hundreds of other small miners turned their backs to UTC for this reason, too. Current N-factor schedule is idiotic. Why complicate GPU mining every few weeks when there is no immediate threat from ASICs? UTC could be VTC #2 - truly ASIC resistant, but GPU miners friendly currency. The problem is  UTC is neither ASIC, nor GPU miners friendly.

There's an accounting term for what you describe above: sunken investment.

Lack of volume. We have contacted them and asked them to hold off on the delisting until all of our changes - to the coin, to the dev team and to our overall plan and approach - have been made.

Hell, even FLAP is still on there, and that has no volume anywhere!
