The intake fan from the Antminer is enough to cool the chips and keep them in the low 40 degree with an ambient temperature of 21 C.
By adding an exhaust fan your self, the Antminer hash a slight bit faster without having to overclock them.
I haven't overclock them myself, I will overclock them if I finished moving my Jupiters to a datacenter.
I am already at the limit of maximum power draw for my house.

try stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 no http and no stratum+tcp just stratum.mining.eligius.st
as user set your minning address and whatever password

right

tried the following pools add's for Slush's Pool
http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332
stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333
stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334
http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333

doesnt work, and I cant ping to google.com its gives error as bad address (btw typing as google.com with no www. or https)

my LAN setting is on DHCP
the WAN is set to Static IP and DHCP is disabled (as other member suggested to do)

On the Antminer, when you do the network ping tests you don't need either the leading protocol type (e.g. http://) and you don't need the port (e.g. :3333) you only need that info when you enter the pool address.

Right, so if you can't ping google.com from the network test page, then your Antminer's network is not setup correctly.

Make sure you can ping google from your computer command prompt or console, then get the following information from your computer, you should be able to get it either from ipconfig /all in a command prompt on windows or ifconfig from a console on mac or linux.

IPv4 address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
DNS Servers

You need to use that information and enter the correct parts of it into the Antminer's network settings for the WAN adapter.

IP address needs to be unique in the last 3 numbers, so don't use an address that is already used on your network (especially your own computers address) e.g. if your computer is 192.168.1.55 make sure you don't put the same IP on the Antminer.
Subnet Mask, Default Gateway & DNS Servers all need to be the same on the antminer as your computer

ok bro the ants WAN reads as

Protocol:          Static address
IPv4 address:   192.168.1.99
IPv4 netmask:   255.255.255.0
IPv4 gateway:  192.168.1.1
IPv4 broadcast: 192.168.1.255
Custom DNS:     8.8.8.8

my own info off ipconfig

IPv4 address:  192.168.1.xx    (which is on the same network as the antminer right?)
Subnet Mask:   255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254  (this is same for DHCP Gateway and for DNS Servers)

was it wrong for me to publish any of that info?  and I sent pm to elasticband but his not online... been at this for a while and im loosing heart  Huh
so the default gateway and DNS servers differ from the number reported in the antminer WAN settings, is this the prob?

No problem, thats internal network info nothing risky there.

Looks like you just need to change your Gateway and DNS servers on the Antminer to match your PC, so 192.168.1.254 which is probably your router address.

If there are still problems try 8.8.8.8 as the DNS server, but keep the gatway as 192.168.1.254

Your antminer is plugged into your router right? If so you should be good to go.

I PM'ed you re remote help if you need it.

ok, is set the Default Gateway to same as my comp 192.168.1.254
should i also change the IPv4 broadcast: from 192.168.1.255 to 192.168.1.254 ?

elasticband tried to help for a minute but was unable and had to take off.. i pm'd you Biffa

Default gateway can be whatever you set it to as long as it is in your subnet. 192.168.1.1 is the default out of the box standard however some people like to obfuscate this value

besides, i only get 197 GH/s of my miners running at 400 Mhz
is this due to using Wifi? (one hosts the acces point the other is client)
Probably - I get 2-8% lower performance using built-in wifi depending upon the device.
after some hours, the AP one has the 4 GH loss, while the client one runs full 202...

Interesting.  I have only two, but I know they don't run the same rate given the same connection.  Both run slower on wifi and slower still if I let them heat up.  Right now both are being fed by a 500Mbps PowerLine adapter running to a 4-port switch (overkill I know, but still better than either wifi bridge or (ick) their built-in wifi).  I also run 400 MHz: one gets 200-202, the other 203-206.

Hey guys there are a couple of user type threads for the antminers. Everytime i see this thread bumped i think there might be some shipping update for those who ordered right before the sale ended.

nice setup... I just put one machine on a split and will use my remaing pcie with its split to power the second.  No OC, and for 2-3 days till 2nd PSU arrives.  The split pcie connection on my running ant is somewhat hotter (than when I was using a separate wire for each card/plate) but very minimal heat (750 rosewill capstone gold)

Can you guys confirm if i have this right...
Both my ant's have the same ip which matches my system ip.  I cant have both machines running on the same ip address (since that # is used to log into that particular machines control panel) so I must change the second machines ip (WAN setting static ip), to something matching my range(but different from my ip and the 1st ant's ip) and this is the only way my second setup will be different from the first one.

ex.
my ip:  192.168.1.55
ant ip: 192.168.1.99

changing ant to my range means

new ant ip: 192.168.1.any two digit number other than .55 or .99

and this change is done in the antminers WAN settings

Just got 4 more antminers wired up, last 2 coming tomorrow for a total of 7 antminers and a 256GH Bitfury system. - roughly 1.65 TH

Of course, I wired up the entire crate with 2 antminers and 2 power supplies, got it in place, powered on - and only one PSU works Cry.  With no good way of removing the bad PSU, I had to cut the power lines and route them to another PSU ziptied to the crate.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

i would not have them blowing toward a wall or whatever, this is just going to create heat around the chips and cause them t run badly, hot and fans at full capacity, If you have any loved ones they will kill you.

Better to have them blowing out the way and in-taking air from the wall, which can act as i giant heat sink if cold enough

it does look slightly hazardous, many it's just the wires give that impression. Ever heard of a cable tie? You generally get a bag in the box with your PSU.

@Cyper: unlucky dude, glad you got it fixed! i think the stock is more like 370 - 380 on these miners.
cc
Hi, During the night one of my PSU's died, moving the rig into the new location today where the temp does not rise above 8c, Just need to find a good way of mounting all the ants and PSU's, I know it's stupid running so many PSU's but I find it cheaper in the long run.

Will update later upon new setup.

Also got my PM from Bitmain anyone else ?

glad to see you have neatened things up, i have to say it is quite strange one of your PSU died given how your operation was set up  Roll Eyes
