Any Particular reasons on this Dash Rise.

The 'catalyst' was a crossover of the 10-Week and 21-week EMA on the very long range 1-Week chart. It's only the 4th such crossover in 2 years and crossed at 0.015 which is why there is still a lot of strength in the rally at this level since the market was well oversold for 2-3 months towards the end f last year.

The crossover has happened at successively higher points on the 1-Week chart over the 2 year period.

(Note: This is just the coin-to-coin price ratio with Bitcoin which is the most pessimistic measure as it doesn't take into account relative supply increase. Relative market cap against bitcoin has even more gain).

Let me credit Toknormal with calling this massive bull run.

Tok isn't calling a target on this one (and neither am I!). I will say that in the first major run up, we hit 3.5x our "crossover" price . In the second and third, we hit 2x our "crossover" price. This time our crossover price was about 0.015 - 0.016, so if we hit 3.5x that level, then we could see prices of .05 - .055. Hypothetically, let's say we hit 0.05 and Bitcoin's ETF is approved and drives the price up to $3k USD as some have predicted. At its height, DASH will be worth $150 each with a market cap just slightly exceeding $1 billion.

I'm not saying this will happen, or even that it's desirable (IMO, slow and steady is better for the long term--as we all know, in the last crypto bubble (Nov/Dec 2013) it took 1187 days for Bitcoin to return to its ATH).

DASH has always wanted to find a way for mainstream use. However I dont see any reason to buy and speculate on DASH. That is what BTC is for.  It is for buying and holding long term. A speculative "digital gold". STEEM is already the second most used blockchain in the world next to BTC by transaction rate. More people around the world use STEEM than any other crypto now next to BTC. Every day new STEEM is working its way into the hands of new people around the globe. Many of them finding crypto for the first time. IMO there is more of a use case for something like STEEM even than DASH. It is also much more fair distributed proof of stake system. It does not require you to have 1000 coins to stake. You can stake any amount of coin no matter what amount of money you have. There is no reason for the average joe to buy DASH and use it for payments. I love DASH and its marketing. Great great marketing that the crypto space should learn from. There are several reasons why DASH wont become mainstream.  Great to see new people gettting involved in crypto.

Dash's price may go as high as Otoh sees fit to pump it, but you really need to start taking some money off the table and stash it somewhere more stable than an altcoin.

To all newcomers: do your research and don't let anybody on this thread persuade you either way. Icebreaker and his buddies have been trying to convince people not to buy Dash since the price was $2 or less. Anybody who listened exclusively to him and did not do their research has lost out on enormous gains.

Conversely, cryptocurrency is still a new field. Although Dash is extremely promising both in the near-term and the long-term, it's important to know that crypto bubbles do happen. We might be in a bubble right now, or we might just finally be getting much-deserved recognition from the marketplace. The price could go up from here, or it could go down. Before buying any Dash, please have an idea of your time horizons* and goals, and do extensive research on what makes us a potentially valuable currency.

*This is really important. If you're planning to hold for 5-10 years, then a drop in the price of Dash is irrelevant because it will (in my opinion) only go back up in time. If you are trying to double your money in a month, Dash might not be a great idea for you. Or it might--who knows?

Keep your chin up MyFarm, Dash is just 3 yrs old. Just imagine where it will be by the time your children are old enough for collage! In my case I am hoping that each of my children can get a Dash masternode and that will get them through their university times. I am struggling to buy a few dash and ever so slowly build up to the next masternode. Hopefully this will pay off some time down the road, it sure has been a wise decision this far. There is still plenty of time to start and build ever so slowly. Don't listen to the clowns trying to trash talk Dash, do what your heart tells you.

I'm trying to help people like Tante avoid an undesirable outcome by preserving at least a substantial portion of her newly found wealth.

When you are lower middle class, middle aged, and have no future income growth prospects it is not wise to refuse profit from an investment when it becomes available.

The right thing to do for her family is to stop being greedy and put some (half is a good start) of the profits safely away in a nest egg of assets more stable than an altcoin which most of the world believes is an instamined scam.

Where is the adult supervision?  Am I going to be the only one here willing to give conservative advice on matters of prudent investment?

Do you really think pikers like Tante should just let all her profit stay exposed to the risk of complete loss at the altcoin casino?

I do remember you from the early days! I'm really sorry to hear all that. For what it's worth, posting this may help other people along the way. I know I've screenshot'd it as a reminder to myself.

Not quite the same thing, but I almost...ALMOST...put $25,000 USD in the Ethereum ICO, but I lost faith in them right before and I only put in $1,000 and then sold as soon as they launched. I made a little profit...but missed out on $1.25 million USD. That one took a long time to get over...I still cringe sometimes...
