That would make me choose DRK over BTC!

Folks, remember when your comparing prices, you've got to take account of the coin supply.

DRK's current coin supply is on third of Bitcoin's and a fifth of Litecoin's.

That means if you value DRK at, say, half Litecoin's price then the supply corrected target price would be (LTC x 5) / 2 = 0.06 BTC.

I'm not saying that half LTC's price is the right or wrong valuation, that's for people to decide themselves. I'm just saying you need to take account of coin supply when calculating it.

Another thing that's going reduce DRK's coin supply is the amount of DRK that's removed from it to support masternodes. That will further drive the price because that part of the supply will never reach any markets.

Evan should down the 1000 darks that are necessary to create a masternode to 500 at least cause when the network reach the 100.000 masternodes, the 50% of the coins will be out of markets.

The total number of masternodes is hard limited to 10,000, I believe.  Evan talked about this at some point in this thread - too many MNs would actually do more harm to the network than good.

Well with 4,2 millions coins actualy, I don't see how we can have more than 4200 MN.

i dont agree with you we cant have 4200MN explain later at home...

BE SMART, USE DASH ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Well, all the coins can't be MN's or else you wouldn't have a market. Having said that, is there an easy way to get a count of wallets with >1000 coins and then rounded down to the 1000 (ex. 8000 to 8999.99999999 would only be 8 MN's) to see how many could actually be hosted presently? More of a curiosity thing than anything.

10k is not impossible over the life of the coin, which is what I was referring to.

Take them all. Im at 0

No!  Really?  Well, no sleep for you then, you must watch and buy back as soon as you can, I'm sure there will be a "correction" down, perhaps, to .01 or even .008, but you must be ready for it!

Good luck!  I'd rather not get the ulcers again, LOL, I lost 80 dark, today that would be 560 bucks!  All gone!  Never to be seen again, and with coins I paid for, not mined.  For me, that's a small fortune, LOL, I'm sure you all are laughing, but it is.... actually, I think I'm gonna be sick, LOL...

Don't feel so bad. I had 150 Darkcoins, reformatted my computer forgetting to backup my wallet. After seeing the price at $6, sucks!

Masternode will be essential part of Darkcoin p2p network.

Besides original purpose of Masternode,
Masternode is a 24H online stable, well connected, and inbound 9999 port is opened Darkcoin peer node.

24H avg reward wiil be is 5.

10 % of it.

Has it been decided how the payout works? Do you only get paid if transactions flow through your node or if you're online for 24 hours, you get a proportional amount of the 10% mining reward?

Every time there is a new block (approx. every 2.5 min) a masternode is elected, and at the end, paid whether or not it was called upon to function as a Masternode pool.  I am not sure how a masternode is treated if it goes off line during the block.  I believe that there is a secondary "slavenode" that takes it's place (and is therefor paid)  I am quite sure there is no penalties for Masternodes pulling out because how is a person to know if they were just elected but decided at that moment to do maintenance, etc...

Can anyone help me understand what a masternode does within DarkSend? As in, how does it operate within the pools? I'm writing a media release about RC2 but I lack the technical understand of masternodes. Just one or two sentences would be great!   Smiley

Just had a man named Mark Jeffrey who runs a technology podcast (#3 on Itunes apparently) reach out to me on twitter to have me on interview for his podcast about Darkcoin. I told him I was just the official unofficial news account and the he should contact Evan instead so get in touch with him evan for an interview if you like - https://twitter.com/markjeffrey

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Unfortunately it was vmware on my craptop. I was chopping up my wallet and for some reason sent 1,000 twice to the same wallet. Anyway, was going to run a masternode from my vm and see what happened if I connected with 2000 as an experiment but,...well....corruption. Hurts more and more everyday
