Maybe instead of constantly discussing price we could refocus on the job at hand. Darkcoin is doing great, you cant expect it to double in price everyday. As we add features, benefits and infrastructure that differentiates DRK from other coins and provides added value to end users price will follow.  In that direction it now seems that P2POOL works with masternode payments and will be ready for the 25th fork! This is huge! I am glad evan delayed the payment fork.

I have good news. Check out block 7290. Masternode payments works with p2pool.

Wow really good news !

+1 I'm with you there. And with LimLims suggestion about dealing with criticism here. I could learn from that too.

I'd like to add, increasing the awareness of Darkcoin is important too. Media mentions are very important, and we're working on that, but word of mouth/twitter/facebook/etc are great too. Lots of people still do not know about the anonymity hole in bitcoin. Most friends I've talked to who have heard of bitcoin, think bitcoin is completely anonymous. Let's all work to change that and we'll help the Darkcoin cause.

I will be giving FUD handling ratings of the previous day on a regular basis in this thread from now on  Wink

Yesterday's rating: C-

Factors:

1) Retarded number of nzminer's graph getting quoted/reposted/dissected/bumped after he most likely shorted his position. You don't discuss day trading openly if you really care about it, so no nzminer is a more sophisticated troll that you will have to deal with. Typical garbage given will be I like DRK (I hold blah blah blah coins making me smart and impartial).

2) ac2=r0ach https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=560138.msg6737780#msg6737780

Even eduffield quoted him making it a big fail. They are not here to help anyone. Him and his team are actually the creators of the IPO coins to scam people in the name of saving them. cryptohunter is part of the cabal and his only job in the real scam threads is to ask "Is there an escrow for this coin" making it appear like it is all legit.

This thread participants are not capable of handling what is coming their way (not yet anyways) when price approaches LTC current price and the hatred it will bring.

Today's rating: C-

Favourite lines from trolls/hacks/retards/angries and FUDsters: I am not here to troll. I am just a innocent guy looking for the truth.

nzminer = Slimey troll. You don't start a poll Darkcoin = $1000 unless you just want to piss most people off. And then have the gall to come back here that there is life after death, what goes up must come down and all sorts of other philosophies that everyone knows. He is an NXT proponent posing to possess DRK (and nothing against NXT, it is also a good coin to have btw).

This thread participants are not capable of handling what is coming their way (not yet anyways) when price approaches LTC current price and the hatred it will bring.   -> Still valid statement.

Trolling is a fact of life on these forums. But starting witch hunts reflects poorly on all of us.

Effective trolling will raise an issue that people are genuinely concerned about, in such a way as to provoke a defensive emotional response. If I feel someone is subtly trolling in this way, I find the most effective response is to offer a polite, reasoned argument that addresses the raised concerns. This approach is beneficial to any onlooker who shares those concerns, it avoids playing into the hands of the suspected troll. It also avoids needless accusations, which is especially important if my suspicions are wrong and the person is just raising a genuine concern.

Great post this.

The issue is that people often overcorrect for trolls. If one were secure, the opposite of trolling would be the truth. But instead, we have a bunch of people cheerlead with blind faith. I've a long time supporter of drk. I wrote a webapp for it months ago to support it (http://darksend.it). I haven't sold, I've held. I will be putting up more than a handful of masternodes.

All these "trolls" you guys are witch hunting, they have made good points these past few days, which you guys ignore because you're so defensive.

1. x11 isn't anything innovative. It was LUCKY to be INEFFICIENT (this is a good thing) so that it has ended up lowering power costs for everyone. However, there was no innovation in creating or choosing the 11 algorithms. Evan didn't write a single one of them. He took them all and chained them. That's not really "innovation" when someone chained a bunch of them before. Just in different order|magnitude.

2. DGW is another correction of something that already exists. It's just a rebalance of something that was not fast enough at what it was doing. I can't be sure on this point because I haven't bothered to read the code yet, but I suspect this is true.

3. Darksend feature itself, based on coinjoin, which has been around for a long time. While there has been a lot of work put in to get it to its current state, which we are trusting on faith atm, time will really tell when it's open sourced. NOT when it's audited. Every single company gets their net security audited, some of them under heavy scrutiny a LOT. That means fuckall to the real world, where security breaches happen every day because the real security audit is open source. Bitcoin had been open source since day 1 and that didn't stop it from having problems 6 months? 1.5 years, 3 years down the road by vulnerabilities/limits being discovered/abused. The real value of drk development will be shown by vulnerabilities HAPPENING and the time and manner in which they are fixed.

For someone who has the slightest clue on coding and complexity/automata theory, all of this is obvious. The real pump isn't coming from whales but from this community zealously jesus praising everything.

Folks.

Whatever side your on - instamine scam or hardworking dev - please try to keep the antagonism level to a minimum.

You have to remember that reading and writing forum posts is a skill because there's no body language to help understand the other guy's posts and so there's a natural tendency to become adversarial.

You might be trashing somebody that if you met in a bar amongst friends you'd have a great evening with. And just before someone checks my posting history and calls me out on it, I've done my fare share. But I watched what happened on the Blackcoin thread and it's now totally predictable.

Try to allow people to ask legitimate questions without getting rilled about it because it just ends up in a flamewar and the substance of a perfectly good project will get lost.

I'd like to think of myself as not defensive.. just dismissive since you clearly are utterly clueless. And maybe I say that cause I know more than you on the topic and it would take too much time to reteach you the holes in your statements. Reread the whole thread and all of these topics have been covered over and over.

+1  Shocked Those points have been answered over and over the past months. I'm surprised that a "long time supporter" doesn't regularly check the thread to know those answers.

When you have politely answered and they keep coming with the same "question" on purpose what do you do ? Because that's what they do, they create a false issue and repeat it till it's "true".

How much was in her account that she got hacked from?

LOL this is getting out of control. Tante was worried their BITCOINTALK account was hacked. And to look out for any strange posts in her name.

Basically wait to hear from Tante. And don't tip the address under tantes posts till we hear.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

Yup ticking along for a while above 0.01 will do nicely. Time to get things right. If moolah adds DRK to their payment system we should approach our favourite merchants/merchants we think are a good fit. Show the world that DRK is for whatever you want to use it for.

Just to note, in terms of the solution I posted over at the DRK forum, most users will be set with just replacing the peers file. The rest is just in case that does not work.

30-60 mins we get to see what american volume is like on weekends, yesterday at that time volume was very high Cheesy

sorry i dont get it..
what rush hour times did you found out for the weekends... is it different than normal week days?
i tried to transpose the 19:00-21:00 phases of SF, NY, BER; SHANG to Berlin time what is my homezone. If i took that as a base the rush hour is over in america for ca. one hour... and the next rush hour will be in europe starting in ca. 3 hours... this means i wouldnt expect much volume in the next 3 hours

edit i made a mistake lol....

i think it looks like this:
19:00 - 21:00 is
in berlin 19:00 - 21:00
in sanfranzisko 4:00 - 6:00
in new york: 1:00 - 3:00
in shanghai: 13:00 - 15:00

all the american rush hours should be over already?
or is it still wrong? i am confused now
