The wiki was setup by elbereth.

I've created a large percentage of the text-content which he then ordered and managed in pages with wiki formatting (in which I had no experience).

I'm also currently doing the FAQ so if you have comments/feedback/new questions that you'd like to see added, please send them. Tips for encouragement also welcome...

Hopefully we'll get to a point where a google search for "darkcoin wiki", "wiki darkcoin" or questions for darkcoin, will lead to relevant information like this, until wikipedia can add us.

You think it will go down that far iam new to this
is this what happens when coins go up that fast?

Yes, it is what happens.

I'm not saying it will go down that far, it will go up and down until it fully corrects and one of the bottoms might touch 7 or 8 before it does.

The reason it happens is because the rise comprises 2 components: speculative investments and long term investments. When it hits the top of the curve, the speculative investments go out of it, then some come back in about 48-72 hours later once it's bounced. That usually leaves the price at a stable level about half to two thirds of the way up the rise from the last base if the asset has genuine fundamentals. If it's just a pump and dump then it doesn't go back at all (e.g. CINNI, MAZA).

Looking at charts, this correction has about 48-72 hours still to go, although the volume isn't huge compared to the rise, so it doesn't look like being a crash. It may hover between a low of 7 and a high of 12 till Tuesday, then stabilise around 11 unless another manic bullrun gets going.

Interestingly, that is perfect timing for such a correction because technical developments are due just a couple of days after that and it means that we'll be going into those with a more stable and consolidated valuation.

We are consolidating in a quite wide upward channel which will likely soon be transformed into an even steeper upward channel like BTC has done. I estimate that the top of DRK's blue line now stands at 0.024 and rising. A break above that could come from masternode payments going live (on 5/25?) and being very successful. Of course my red line, currently at the upper-0.006 area (although I'll give it some leniency and say 0.006) is the line in the sand that I don't want to see crossed....ever again.

And BTC might very well be at the bottom of it's current channel here. The top of this channel doesn't even fit on the chart any more and could be at $10k since this is a logarithmic chart. Of course, any breaks below that light blue bottom line at $400 level could result in a pretty immediate halving to $200.

"Buy".

Thank you, dark coin offers so much new technology that there are always people asking for an explanation of it all. A wiki is essential to hold all the information.

I do like this one.  Aggggh... I just posted my reply to this without quoting this original post.  damn it.   anyway... we will be using this on our Facebook and Twitter and our new revamped site.  when we pick this tomorrow morning   I'll ask for your wallet Addy to send you ur funds.   I'd also be super stoked about a POS system with a dark coin pay option... any ideas?

Salmion EDIT: Original post

Hi Everyone,

I have decided to be the first retail business to accept DarkCoin. We are a single vineyard small lot wine producer in the Okanagan Valley, BC Canada. I need some peeps to send us a logo for us to promote Darcoin at our till. You can see our winery at www.facebook.com/misconductwineco

I'll put up 50 DRK for someone to help us with designing a POS display by our till and we'll take photos of my staff and I....with DarkCoin logos throughout our wineshop.

Thanks guys!

Rich

Wahey!

I'll need to change that QR code!

Also remember that we don't have an android wallet yet so perhaps this should be just be find out more at darkcoin.io?

In terms of payment systems I would speak to https://moolah.io they don't currently do DRK but I'm sure would if asked. They have a DRK pairing on prelude (the exchange part of their company)

If they agree we could have their payment system QR

EDIT: Contacted moolah.io and they said: "Thank you for this heads up! I will pass this on to the sales team. Smiley"

I'll post my wallet address when we get it right.

"Hey, Jon from Moolah!

Hey there! I am head of sales for Moolah.io (Kevin told me to get in touch with you). Shoot me a PM on here or email me at jonathon@moolah.io and we can help get you set up with DRK on a merchant side of things!

I tried replying to the thread by apparantely bitcointalk doesn't like me! Feel free to post this message/my contact info for anyone else interested in setting things up!

Thanks!

Those graphs confirm these are exciting times for Darkcoin and Bitcoin.

Just want to mention that I've upgraded TreasureQuarry's Darkcoin p2pool at http://darkcoin.treasurequarry.com:7903/static/  to the latest source.

If you're mining on any pool, please make sure they're using the Darkcoin post-May14th Hard Fork.

Happy mining.  Smiley

Sorry, I'm a a bit lost in technicalities...

My main wallet is Mac 0.9.3.3, and have 4 VM ubuntu on 0.7.4. Is it safe to send fro 0.9.3.3 to 10.7.4, or do I have to backup wallet, updated to 0.9.4/ 10.7.4, and copy my main wallet over to them?

It's safe. Both wallets are on the right fork, although you might want to update the Mac wallet to 0.9.3.4

I updated on Linux from  0.9.3.3  to   0.9.3.4  yesterday.  This upgrade is for DGW3?  Thanks.

No Mac 0.9.3.4 still ... Sad

Next week is a big week for anonymity.

1. Zerocash paper goes out (best of luck trying to figure out the RSA private key destruction conundrum).
2. Anoncoin and other clones of zerocoin get to find out what will be going into their coins (zerocash have pulled back from supporting anything other than zerocash, good luck with that).
3. Master nodes start getting paid - yay!!!
4. RC3, possibly - yay!!!
5. Going for $36m market cap and knocking on the door of the top 3 - yay!!!

Here's the new schedule for development:

- RC2 (masternode payments, DGW3) : May 14th
- RC3 (1000 DRK limit and denominated change) : May 21st
- After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source.
- RC4 (Bugs, security issues)
- Testing, then opensource

Then some future options:

* I2P:
Quote
I'm implementing I2P into the masternodes. We're going to have our own private network just for DarkSend.
eduffield, 10 May 2014. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6643662#msg6643662

* Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2.
Quote
I will begin development immediately after I opensource V1.

Your plan will still work. (I assume wallet.dat files are OS agnostic, they should be.) Try it, as long as you have a copy of the original/current wallet.dat you can't lose anything.
