Guys I'm now all in in BTC, vert coin and dark (bought dark at 0.003 long ago).

I was just wondering if one could consider monero a good potential coin or not?

I'm just trying to diversify and buy a little of another coin aimed at anonymity. XC doesn't interest me anymore (too shady).

Can monero be a good addition in small % to my holdings?

Have noob question concerning masternodes... from this graph obviously there are a lot of masternodes hosted by amazon in US, is there any reason NOT to run a mn through a VPN? Are the majority simply not doing it or is there a technical reason such as ping time? Thanks

To anyone helping with forking tests:

** PLEASE UPDATE TO 9.5.0 OR 10.9.0 **

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/help-test-rc2-forking-issues.1009/

You can now run masternodes with 10.9.0, binaries are available

If you want to help:

- You can mine
- You can install the wallet and just let it run, if you see the errors listed that would be incredibly helpful
- You can run a masternode

It's your money, so it's your risk. Noone can't tell. Just do your own research.

In my case i'm 100% dark right now, And i'll sell (some, not all) at 20$  min.  And maybe I will buy some verts in near future.

I'll probably get ripped to shreds for saying this but Zerocash might be an interesting hedge... when it comes out (ETA at least several months).

Until then I would consider topping up on DRK because with Bitfinex + upgrades + new swell of interest in cryptos as the new Bitcoin bubble grows I believe DRK is going to explode upwards for a while now.

My problem with Zerocash is that you have to trust the devs to destroy the keys. Also you can't know if the money supply has been secretly increased due to the nature of Zeroknowledge proofs (would be a similar scam as the Asiacoin scam where there actually 3 billion coins instead of 300 million).

Even if it was, think from the perspective of the layman in say, 3 years who is considering using Zerocash. They ask, "How can I trust it?" and the answer will be, "The developers destroyed the keys in a public ceremony, which you can only trust if you are able to understand the most cutting edge, technically obtuse cryptography technology in existence."

I am personally very educated about monero and the cryptonote protocol in general and I would say yes, monero looks like a grand slam home run. (let me know if you need help with the wallet) I am all in on drk, monero, and bc myself. I used to have a lot of vertcoins too but i traded them in for drk, back when they were both roughly around a dollar (and thank GOD i did lol).

please excuse my ignorance but I don't see very much value in vertcoin. I did, until X11 happened. (i am probably just ignorant though)

First, thanks everyone for your answers. I'll take the time to look monero since apparently if there is something strong it won't happen in the next weeks.

As for vertcoin, it's also symbolic for me since it was my first alt coin, and i bought in 3 hours before the big explosion in price a few months back.

Plus the devs are pretty solid and consistent (maybe less talented than our's one here in Darkcoin, but very good nonetheless).

I made enough off vert to keep the rest now, but my main stashs are Bitcoin and Dark, and that won't change any time soon.

I just wanted to ask here to have a more objective opinion about monero, since people tend to "oversell" their alt coins in their dedicated forum

Thanks again everyone and sorry for the digression

So, not being a troll... but is this bitfinex a big deal thing? I really am not a trader and don't know the history of the place... they do seem to do lots of volume...

How does one prove before the mint and pour process that coins had not been created if the blockchain cannot be read? I'm not saying it can't be done but I've seen no evidence that it can be.

Brings

1. Volume - more legitimacy for DRK (only 2 other coins traded at the xchange is Bitcoin and litecoin)
2. DRK/USD conversion

I get the rush to add DRK/USD pairs as a large number of people are asking "ok, where can I buy DRKs"? ...but with development being what it is, this creates unnecessary pressure with forks etc.

Can't they just wait a couple of months when DarkSend is final? Having noobz downloading wallets to transfer their newly acquired DRKs and thinking they will never need to upgrade their client (BTC / LTC mentality) can be problematic.

That's where a small warning window "Your client needs update, please download the latest one" can be handy.
