Hi all, have read a few articles, I want to buy some darks. To bad I did not find Dark earlier, but hey.

Any advice buying DRK at mintpal or cryptsy? I now have most BTC in BTC-e but can't trade it over there.

Thanks!

Most people like Mintpal best and I believe they have fewer fees?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Mintpal has the biggest volume since the beginning of time. Most of the times the price  is higher than any other exchange out there.

Ps. It s never late to jump on the train according to the latest articles all over the internet.

The traders on Poloniex are sometimes unreasonable which leads to large spreads, this can sometimes work to your advantage and you can pick-up DRK quite cheap...

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

Advice from my side: wait some days or weeks to buy in. volume and hype is getting less and chart is on the downward slope heading to 0.01. After a convalescence i would invest again

Mintpal has DRK <> LTC pair. Not much volume. Can't find too many people wanting to trade DRK for LTC.

Cryptsy is ok....they look like they are introducing DRK<>USD in June.

To anyone helping with the forking issue on testnet:

Can you please search your debug.log for "CheckBlock()", if you have any occurrence of that please send the log to evan@darkcoin.io

Thanks!

From 8 am (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg7055473#msg7055473) to 11 pm on a Saturday... The man's a machine!

Good morning!

Let me just buy some more DRKs as a sign of gratitude! (I'm doubling my DRKs today)

Who are Swisscex and is their trading platform any good?

Never heard of them, but if they are Swiss, that could be a big market in a year or so if they ever add Swiss Francs to their crypto trading pairs.  I would definitely use them to get some skiing money.

BC goes onto CoinKite today...well done to them, and best of luck.

Among the reasons they chose BC points to the reason to be bullish on Darkcoin compared to other anonymity tools.

One of their requirements was that the alt-coin had to be based on Bitcoin code. As I have said before, being a cousin of Bitcoin is one of the biggest benefits of Darkcoin. It takes work for people to add a new alt-coin to work alongside Bitcoin, and its much, much easier if there are similarities to begin with.

Quote
The great team at CoinKite decided on a contest to determine which Altcoin they would be supporting next on April 8th. They had a laundry list of criteria — which luckily — BlackCoin fit the bill on all accounts.

Must have a fiat to XXX exchange—at least one somewhere in the world.
Two or more BTC/XXX exchanges.
Be based on bitcoin source (ie. nothing wild like ripple).
Not have a obnoxious name that we would be embarrassed to say/promote, and a commonly used three letter code.
Preferably, have a block interval of >1 minute.
Must have a blockchain explorer we can deep link into (bonus: reliable and fast).
Addresses that are not confusing compared to bitcoin (ie. different first letter is needed).
More than one major mining pool: cannot have a single pool operator controlling all blocks.
Must have client binaries for major systems such as OSX, Linux

that twitter post is a day or two old.

the question is, why would they bother adding it in the first place?
