You are right Tante. The links are diferents from the post of Evan on DarkcoinTalk. (do not use them!! Download from darkcoin.io)

I don't see them as different.

They seem to all point at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/darkcoinproject

Where were the links that you say are fake ? (I downloaded Mac wallets and Linux but I think I just googled darkcoin.io, I can't quite remember, but it was that post that prompted me).

It started with snake.in.the.blanket he, I presume, changed the links, click on them and you'll see, they look correct but aren't

Oh yeah. I see it now, the URL root is different. The rogue is https://github.com/darkcoinproject while the official is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/darkcoinproject.

F*ck. I hope no-one followed that. At least the Mac link is broken which is the one I would have used for my 'live' wallet.

Well I discovered it because I was being lazy, LOL, and clicked on windows and it took me to something like zippy file downloads, LOL, so I knew something was wrong, but what about newbs?  I'm running malwarebytes even so I didn't download anything, just 'cause I'm paranoid  Undecided

No change there then.......worse in fact. This is on a winblows 7 64bit PC, & Darkcoil no longer seems to work either, so I have no option but to sit & wait for hours before I can even touch my wallet, let alone send anything.

Mass adoption will never happen until there is a wallet that works for everyone on every (or at the very least the most used) OS.

Wow - so many suggestions - thanks guys  Smiley

Backup your wallet.dat.
Create a new wallet.dat (just move the old one and launch darkcoin-qt it'll create alone).
Like this your are sure to be on the good wallet version and have a fresh new wallet without transaction history).
Send all your coins from your old wallet to this one.
This should solve your problem.

Tried that a few times over the months, thanks though.

Send funds to brand-fresh newly generated wallet from most recent version and I believe you will be pleased.

Tried that a few times over the months as well, thanks though.

It is actually quite common in all crypto wallets. Lots of small transaction cause it to be a large wallet.dat file. Simple. Create a new wallet and send all coins to the new wallet. Size is then normal and it will boot and respond like normal. Note please backup your wallet during this exercise. (edit before this exercise)

I run 8 wallets on this PC - darkcoin is the only wallet that gives me this problem. I've also tried what you suggest a few times over the months as well, thanks though.

Put this in your darkcoin.conf:

litemode=1

It will run wallet with out DS And will be similar to darkcoil. performance will improve... but darkcoil is still faster.

This I have not tried, so I'll give it a go - thanks!  The only problem is, like you say, that I'll not be able to use DS - which kind of defeats the object. Still, I won't have to wait for hours before I can click something on the wallet, then wait hours for it to do something again - so at least it'll be semi-usable, if it works  Wink

I think that's everyone......sorry if I missed anyone  Wink

What?

Because enforcement is off and not all miners pay the nodes.

My masternodes haven't appeared in ninja at all. They've been up for about 6 hours (I did "start masternode" from the local wallet and it said was successful).

If I restart the masternodes do I have to get the local wallet out and do "start masternode" again ?

There is an issue with "dust" from p2pool payments.

just transfer the total "dust" to another wallet and DS it.

I just looked around and found a joke Grin Shocked Roll Eyes

I'm back Smiley

I also noticed that you have been talking with the DRK coin guys about their masternodes. Are you worried that they may steal your ideas and claim them as their own?

Congrats to the entire darkcoin dev team! This is a watershed in crypto without a doubt. It's truly amazing to see the amount of hard work that goes into these releases and this is without a doubt the most polished one I've seen yet.

masternodes updated! Took a couple restarts before getting hotcold in the debug.

Great work to the Dev team and testers! Maybe one day I'll get my name on that list haha.

Like many here, I upgraded my masternode within 30 minutes of the release and all went fine. Kept checking it for the next couple of hours and a grep kept retuning a '1' so all okay. Then when the ninja MN monitoring site was updated it was showing on there with 0.11.1.19 version too.

But I hadn't checked it for a couple of hours and looked just now and realised it was gone from the ninja list. Logged into my VPS and a grep wasn't returning anything (just bringing up next prompt like you've pressed the enter key without entering any command). Did several getinfo's and the block was not stuck and was keeping track of the same block as my 0.11.1.19 wallet. So I did a masternode start from the remote wallet again and it's back online (and back on the ninja list).

Suggest everyone checks their MNs more regularly than usual. Perhaps there's an issue that's causing them to drop off.

That's what mine's doing. I restarted the remote daemon and the local one and re-issued "start masternode" a few times but I still don't get any grep.

I think I'll try again tomorrow and see if anything transpires.
