I am very interested in following this. I hope you will create a raspeberry pi thread on DCT, so this can be maintained for posterity.  Cool

I'm thinking about it. When I have some spare time I'll do it.

Also, please excuse my ignorance, but am I correct in understanding that you are running four test masternodes on one RB π2?  Shocked

Yes you are correct  Wink

I'll get a new raspberry pi 2 and set a masternode to help the darkcoin network, what bandwidth would you recommend?

This is only on testnet

I don't have any bandwidth metrics taken from this but you don't need much at least on testnet.
You can setup a testnet masternode and see for yourself for free Smiley

are you using raspbian?

Yes. Latest version.

You can run multiple masternodes on testnet but once this update is rolled out to mainnet, no longer will you be able to get away with running multiples on the same ip with a different port.

Darkcoin presently at 1/100 the value of BTC, an interesting moment.

Indeed, this is an important milestone. The merits of the coin are the only reason for the rise to 0.01, just great development work and a fantastic community are pushing this project forwards. Prices will always fluctuate on a daily basis but value will always out... This project is growing in value every day and eventually the price will surely follow...

Great work devs and community... Next target is Doge with a $13.7M market cap... (I don't count the non-minable and pre-mines).

Wrt people talking about smaller market cap being better because "it has more potential":

If you want to buy/sell 10 BTC worth of DRK in one shot, you'll only have ~2% slippage. If you want to buy/sell 10 BTC worth of some other privacy oriented coins, you'll move the market up to 35%.

The margins vary, the price is calculated via the current price of Bitcoin in GBP via CoinDesk and the amount it would cost to buy the same amount of coins from the sell wall on Bittrex.  The margins ranges from around 5% to 12%, which is about the same markup that British users normally pay for BTC on popular services such as bittylicious.com.  Also, we don't accept GFX cards as method of payment. Whoisguard was included free with the domain (Namecheap) and I forgot it was even turned on.  At the same time I do value my privacy, so I may leave it on until I have a registered business address. Wink

RED FLAG #1

You have every right to be suspicious, crypto is a dirty game, but I really don't see how whois guard is a red flag.  Check my sig to see other similar services I run.  I have plenty of happy customers and want to expand to DRK as I see the long term potential and value in this coin/project.

I spoke with the DRK team (Fernando) before developing the service to make sure they're happy with my launching it, I'm not sure they would vouch for me since they don't know me that well, but I'm sure there are others who would. Smiley

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%

**** FOR TESTNET USE ONLY !!!!!!! ****

from Evan :

***************************** Please update to 11.1.18 : InstantX Release *****************************

 - Version bump / protocol bump. Please update!
 - Full implementation of spork. Currently this includes 4 different sporks, InstantX, InstantX block enforcement, masternode payments enforcement, and reconverge. This uses the inventory system, so it's super efficient and very powerful for future development. Reconverge will put the blockchain into a mode where it will attempt to reprocess any forks without restarting the client, this means if we even had a fork in the future this can be triggered to fix it without any damage to the network.
 - Masternode payments now uses the inventory system, which will result in much lower bandwidth usage
 - Improved caching
 - Fixed IX GUI update issues. After IX succeeds, the GUI will update to show the transaction has confirmed.
 - Fixed an unusual IX+DS fee issue resulting in rejection
 - Supported Language updates (Vertoe and community)

To look at your current sporks use "spork show" in the debug console

Compiling, if you get a 404 keep trying

Well, the website has been under development since late 2014 and I only registered the SSL cert yesterday because it wasn't needed until then.  I didn't need SSL while it was just me developing/testing the website. Wink

Like I said in my post above, your concerns are understandable, considering all the shit that goes on in crypto.  But it seems a bit silly for me to go through all the effort of launching this service just to rip off a couple of people before being found out? Cheesy
