Dump this shit..... some how the dark team always fucks up  Angry RC3 RC4 now a re branding fiasco devs and team members don't see eye to eye on

Don't be so anglo-centric.

You heard - this was the end station without a name change. What do you want them to do ? Sit on their hands in the face of the increasingly deafening noise coming back from industry decision makers or do something about it ?

Edit charts were poised to either break up hard or down

What's the only barrier to them "breaking up" ? - Litecoin.

Why does Litecoin's position get sustained ? - Chinese fiat markets.

You want Chinese Fiat markets to take "Devil Coin" ? - Good luck  Wink

.... devilcoin..... woooooo

Never knew the devilcoin translation. Interesting.  Kind of answers a few questions i have had about adoption.

We do have a nice and growing underground following in China, but they need formal exchanges to trade on and the name change should help with that part.  There are no guarantees but it should facilitate the process.

Like many, I like the "Darkcoin" name, but I've been in the software business long enough to know that there are times when heads must be temporarily separated form hearts.

I don't really care what the new name is as long as does the job. It has a function to perform and that's it.

I realise some will be upset about this and others not - there's no way the devs are going to win a popularity contest on this one so they've got to go with their best guess.

But for myself, I'd rather this project was run by pragmatists than dogmatists. No business ever got anywhere by listening to their heart and hoping for the best and in this situation I don't really see they have a choice.

Good decision IMO and I like the short sharp shock approach.

I wrote my opinion on dct so I'll do it here as well.
I have strange mixed feelings about rebranding. It can change a lot in possitive and negative way.
I love the actual name because it brings a lot with its meaning and is hard and beautiful as it sounds. Dash is OK oy for extended name Digital Cash but as DASH I only imagin the detergent.

Hmmm hmmmmmmm...

BE SMART, USE DASH ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Seriously Evan ? To be honest I'm pretty disappointed. Can't say anything now because I'm still shocking.

That will change - believe me. I've had to think up tons of names for products, businesses, projects. They all sound corny and crass to start with and then they just end up meaning what they represent.

It's important that strong associations be rebuilt between the brand, logo and technology. It needs to get done comprehensively and in a few weeks you won't even know there was a name change. It becomes transparent and the product "re-emerges" out from under it so that the names is just a label again.

"Weetabix" (<-- would sound ridiculous if you hadn't grown up knowing what it represented)

Have patience  Wink
