Bitcoin is going up because of Google rumor, so there are a possibility of some sell off any time soon, but I expect 0.0125 to hold.

Im trying to get darkcoind to run on a PI 2 which seems to be going work. Only im compiling over n over and it takes pretty long on the Pi, even with 3 cores.

Can i just MAKE the one file i need?: Darkcoind?

And how?

check if this helps:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7815400/how-do-i-make-makefile-to-recompile-only-changed-files

or an alternative method is to try to cross compile it
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19162072/installing-raspberry-pi-cross-compiler/19269715#19269715

edit: you can pull this docker image ready for raspberry pi cross compilation
https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/philipz/raspberry-pi-crosscompile/

cross compile darkcoin for rasperberry pi:

install docker in your computer
https://www.docker.com

docker pull philipz/raspberry-pi-crosscompile
docker run -ti philipz/raspberry-pi-crosscompile
cd /home
git clone https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin
sudo apt-get install dh-autoreconf
sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
sudo apt-get install pkg-config

./autogen.sh
./configure --with-incompatible-bdb
make

cd src
scp darkcoind darkcoin-cli user@rasperberry_ip:/your_directory/

I do not own a rasperberry pi (yet) so I just compiled. Further tests needed
Next step is to create a docker image to make the above permanent.
On a new release you would only have to git pull and run commands from ./autogen.sh forward
Compilation is way faster then compiling in rasperberry pi

I just ordered one a few days ago, but they're out of stock.  I might have to wait into March to receive it Sad .  I'll undoubtedly have to try everything out on it, but ultimately, it'll be a lightweight Netflix streamer for me to watch at night in bed, LOL.  I won't be able to part with it so easily to let it work for mining nor masternodes, LOL

Yey! Thx for the tut! When I manage to get some time this weekend I might do a proper tut on darkcoin talk.

BTW after compiling for 1,5h on three cores on the pi2 my Masternode is up and running nicely. Showing full green at drk. Mn.

CPU 3% and RAM to spare

Run a masternode on a raspberry pi 2 @home! Follow my noobfriendly tutorial @ https://dashtalk.org/threads/masternode-on-raspberry-pi-2-model-b.4083

2 out of 3 biggest mining pools gaming the system and overall about 50% off hash power pays MN rewards to the same addresses as of ~13hours ago.. You can check it yourself by clicking on a pool ( https://drk.mn/blocks.html )

Cheating pools: xhash.net ghashio darkcoinoboxru XwfiFDTgpVdMBiHKtLZ5Q8KzghZ8qgCfxb miningpoolhub

Is it software bug or some kind of conspiracy? Cheesy

Now, it's not too bad if these reward go to the miners but somehow I doubt it...

Pools like - multipoolus coinkingio p2pool etc. need more miner love IMHO

Did you reed Evan's last post? That's why 11.1.23...

that's great to hear it is running smoothly.
yes, this was just a sketchy tutorial, I was trying to compile it and taking notes at the same time.

I'm also waiting for my pi2 and to get my hands on 1K DRK (this is the most difficult part :p )

Just a thought, but i looked at the lead developers trust rating, how about we all try and give him a better trust rating for all his constant work? Hell, he should be on the default trust list.

u guys running 2 P2P networks side-by-side?

A running wallet is a node in the network.
A miner is a node in the same network.
A masternode is a node in the same network.

A running wallet provides the network with a service that is helping other nodes to connect and sync to the network and broadcast transactions.
A miner provides the network with an additional service that is storing transactions into the blockchain.
A masternode provides the network with additional services that are (currently - more is to come) anonymization of coins and instant transactions.

Miners and masternodes are rewarded for their services, and both need to prove somehow that they are legit - miners do it by proof of work, and masternodes do it by proof of service and proof of 1000 DRK ownership.
Sorry for the silly question:
so, despite I have not to operate with (sending or receiving coins) , is good habit keep always the wallet running because it helps the network?
Thanks in advanced

I was trying to figure how you could re-spend funds received thru InstantX before full miner confirmations. I'll check the paper.
At least i now understand that you must wait for 1 miner confirm (~2.5mins) before being able to re-spend funds received by InstantX.

I certainly hope DRK members won't misconstrue my presence here as casting a shadow on Shadow as it were, and the remarkable achievements of rynomster and technovert (now pending peer review by Isidor Zeuner).

I'm merely a supporter of SDC and unaffiliated to the Team.

As you were gentlemen.

congrats on Silk Road news btw, a good test for Darksend > let's hope it keeps people outta prison.

Did you read the next post after Evan's?

What is your point?

Let me put it this way for you.. I imagine there are miners out there that run masternodes and possibly mining on one of the cheating pools thus helping themselves to fcuk themselves - strange isn't it? Well, my post states just that..plus we definitely need some hash power spread.. And overall if you think that problems go away just by not looking at them - that's a problem in itself..

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash."  -  Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Stop making a demand for your bag. Your marketing is awful.
And that you need to do that in this thread says everything. Your annoying approach will make you leave with red-face.

No point, actually I agree with you. Someone find a way to actually steal MN payments ( part at least) so Evam reacted. Yes, put those pools public!
