I share a joke with you, I just asked my mate if he knew what dihydrogenmonoxide was and he guessed it straight away, but I admit that I didn't get it and had to check with google to be enlightened, thanks for the laugh  Grin

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Hello Dash community,

I have begun to research the first year history of Dash.  It has taken me about 4-5 hours to extract the important historical events in the first 150 pages of this thread.  A preliminary front cover has already been designed:

Books on Peercoin and Reddcoin are already available on Amazon.

If anyone would like to donate towards this project, please do: XdoMpS6wX63TVBma9EG53PG2VJnMnSPJ3d

I noticed stuff was deleted all the way through to the beginning.  I went all the way from page 0 to page 43, I think, and couldn't find where we decided to keep going after realizing the number of coins that were "spilled" out at the very beginning, but I clearly remember it, even having looked it up only a few months ago.  It was not a formal vote to continue on, but rather everyone chirping in that they didn't want to lose over a week of mining.

I don't know why the moderators saw fit to remove that one?

I guess I can only go by what is documented.  It is a shame that content was deleted.  However, more information can be added to a second edition of the book at a later date.

Chris

Document this before it gets deleted, too then: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=559932.0
The fact that this very suggestion existed irrefutably redeems this project of any scam accusations.

I remember that - good find :-D

My younger self was pretty much on the money (well, DASH) in predicting a name change was essential for Darkcoin.

Glad to see my idea for an airdrop is now useful, in an unintended way - it didn't seem such a good idea back then!

My policy of not allowing cryptocurrency trading to destroy my life is proving expensive right now.

Visited family the last 2 days instead of sitting at home trying to figure out how to run the Ethereum wallet in order to dump my ICO 1000% gain ETH bags, knowing that it was going to crash a fair bit.

Difficult decision that - choose cryptomarkets or chooselife  Wink

Meanwhile, congratulations to the Dash devteam and supporting cast for producing a release that moves all of crypto a huge step forward once again. It's going to be very interesting to see how the governance stuff plays out.

For my part I'd love to see a much more professional looking and 'awsome' block explorer be developed. We must continue to consolidate the monetary properties of Dash. It has found a way to decouple public accountability and anonymity so that these two are not in conflict and can be optimised independently of each other. This characteristic must be capitalised on IMO.

All other things being equal, from a monetary medium point of view, an anonymous public blockchain token is far more valuable than a 'hidden blockchain' one and we need to flaunt that fact.

Has coinmine disabled their front page? I cant access the site at all and a ping test gets timeouts.

If they did that on purpose to stop people joining their pool, then well done to them Smiley

The wrong way to sort out a majority network hashrate issue, but I guess it's better than nothing.

One of my MN wallets crashes when "Synchronizing budgets..." reaches 100%, anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT:
It only seems to crash when I have the debug console opened, when it's closed it successfully synchronizes.

It seems we are letting go of the Proof of Service score on Dashninja.pl ?
Is it not necessary anymore to display ?

Looks like that v45 is stable so far, the nodes are still active after some couple of hours...
If all will go all right than some more days and as Evan said before we will see the enforcment of the MNs.

yep, a few more days and enforcement will be turned on again. After which MN payments will fall into a routine
(decentralised) schedule again .

I like your new signature btw Smiley

damn, i thought about waiting myself as i was scheduled for MN payment very soon but then i realised enforcement was off
and it wasn't sure when i would get paid and this weekend at least i had lots of time to update.

Oh well, a little sacrifice in the name of progress..
