Is there only one large mining pool for this coin?  That is just as bad a premining.

The new CPU miner is excellent, 270Khs -> 620Khs.

GPU miner is still only about 50% utilisation though, any word on this?

All views are my own, except those that I have subconsciously inherited from my parents and those that I have nicked from far cleverer people.

hello

Good 4 R9 290 Huh

The same here:
I can't connect to this pool stratum+tcp://pool.darkcoin.io:3333 with my credentials..
I use the dedicated sgminer from the Darkcoin official site, but is useless..

Why does it show zeros against WU etc. I am also getting this?

the official pool has closed for new registrations because of their size... please look for another pool, on the OP

that pic is what it normally looks like when you are getting accepted shares
the gpu miner for this coin is still very new and a bit buggy
it was originally cpu mine only

Very interested in this coin, if implemented correctly it will absolutely crush litecoin. Good luck dev, I'm rooting for you!

I wanna join the dark side!

But when i run sgminer i get a "catastrophic failure in compilation of C:\Users\username\AppData/Loca

and another saying that it "cannot open source file blacke.cl"

I downloaded this copy of sgminer from the darkcoin.io site

Am running Win7 64 and have been mining script with seminar in the past no probe.

What am I missing here?

Help please!

Also, try running sgminer somewhere other than Program Files. Program Files [and the x86 version] is a system folder, and it doesn't always allow reads and writes - especially if you have UAC enabled. Copy the whole mess to someplace like MY Documents or Downloads, or anywhere else in your library. That seems to help.

I think it is because sgminer (like many other miners) does some configuration writes to the .dlls when it starts up.

Thanks to you and aigeezer for the help. This link was key. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5200333#msg5200333

My mistake was cd'ing into the sgminer folder and running "sgminer -c test.conf" (darkcoin-sgminer was in Programs)

Fixing this involved:

1. Moving darkcoin-sgminer to the top level of the C drive
1. Moving the example.bat to the Desktop and editing it like this:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cd C:/darkcoin-sgminer/
sgminer -c myoldscryptminingconf.conf

I added "temp-hysteresis" : "5", to my conf as someone else pin this thread recommended (thanks you) since the temps was moving around too much. (also remove the "kernel: scrypt" line in the conf in case it's there

ALSO

Had to downgrade to Catalyst 13.11 beta9.5 from 13.2 to avoid error -11,
so Catalyst 13.11 beta9.5 is what you want.

Im hashing a cool 4.4Mhz with 3 cards (7970, R9 290, 5770) and could not be happier. Since theres no scrypt they run cooler and quieter… ah… what joy!

I'm rocking the darkside

thanks again to all who helped!

EDIT: Now thinking I'll try pushing my GPU's with higher intensity settings i would have used with scrypt

UPDATE: Raising intensity made no difference. So your script mining script should be optimised as is (assuming it was before)

7.75 Mh/s with 4 280Xs and half the power consumption of regular scrypt. Loving it but would like even more juice!

Anyone mining with a R9 270 or R9 270X? What are your configs and MH/s?

getting 1.3 on an msi 270x with:

--thread-concurrency 16768 -I 18 --temp-cutoff 83 -g 2 --gpu-engine 1175 --gpu-memclock 1500

runs about 14c cooler than 450khash scrypt mining to boot.
