Just to let everyone know we're up to 3000DRK for the GPU bounty to try and get phm to release his source code. It would be helpful if other people could donate also to even the playing field again :

XcVWt1B4EwxRgHXDnJyxGDwhEDDwfWvKpY

Sent 1000 DRK.
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Added Darkcoin to coinz.co.vu

Darkcoin Difficulty Chart

also comes with a volume chart (transaction count minus generation transactions)

Very nice, I added a link to the home page on darkcoin.io.

can anyone provide a compiled exe for windows?

Just to let everyone know we're up to 3000DRK for the GPU bounty to try and get phm to release his source code. It would be helpful if other people could donate also to even the playing field again :

XcVWt1B4EwxRgHXDnJyxGDwhEDDwfWvKpY

Thanks for your support!

ps, this bounty is extended to anyone who can get a GPU miner up and running with a reasonable amount of efficiency .

Here's my partially working GPU miner: https://github.com/evan82/darkcoin-sgminer

I'll post up a compiled version of his sg miner for you, I've been working on this for two days now and managed to tweak it out to much higher hashing speed but the shares are all rejects (above target) - if anybody know's a fix for this we'll be able to get a few mhash out of our gpus in the short term at least.

Will edit with link

Dark SGminer (compiled) - Credit to eduffield for source **This is HIS original version, not the faster one I spoke of**
https://mega.co.nz/#!SpQigLDS!Ph-MZ7QrR55Gb4BDGEeHaCmWI1y3EDw-oYi22do-Umo

I will post a more tweaked out version as I go, but alas.. Not worth it until it actually starts pumping out shares :p, I'm rebuilding from scratch

Is it correct that mentioned at the repo readme hundreds and even thousands of MEGAhashes are real values?

What type of speedup did you get? Is it more cost effective than CPU based on electricity used?

We'll make it work  Grin

@JL777, I can't comment for certain. I pushed it up to speeds exponentially higher than you would get on a CPU but it's not properly running on X11 at this point, so I don't now what it will look like then. But yes, realistically GPUs will be able to bury CPU mining.

Do not donate to this guy.

All you've done is compiled eduffield's modified cgminer? And you're asking for donations?

I've just spent the last couple of hours working on a kernel, and when I read your post I thought "oh, someone's already done it", but you've compiled someone else's work and asked for donations. Poor form.

I'm not asking for donations for compiling his work, I'm asking for donations with the promise that I'm putting in a full time effort to get my updated version running. But, I'll take down the wallet if it's that horrific to you.

No, you clearly stated that you'd spent two days working on it, implying that you've made a lot of changes... which you haven't. It took you two days to compile eduffield's cgminer?

Thanks for the exe, looks like all the shares the miner submits are rejects.

We do have a wallet ready for any donations for building the GPU miner: XcVWt1B4EwxRgHXDnJyxGDwhEDDwfWvKpY

So who ever comes up with a decent working GPU will get the wallet contents. We dont have a problem using the starting code from evan82, since its not complete. It might be a good start for someone not wanting to start from scratch.

If we do get multiple people submitting a miner we may either, compair the two and the best gets it OR split it between them to make it fair. It will just depend on the circumstances and maybe a vote from the community.

I dont think its fair to say DONT DONATE to this guy or anyone. If someone want to donate let them. We have sent coin to others for compiling our code in the past.

And probabaly will need some help in the future, as yet I have not gotten my PC to correctly compile Windows app, I hate windows! Love Linux. Tongue

I edited the original post with huge asterisks for you. I've been working on an updated version for two days, I posted the source that the person asked for compiled.

I'm not going to waste my time dealing with stupidity, it makes it hard to want to share MY work that I promised at the bottom of that post. Good luck with your effort, way to be a team player.

Dude, just think about it for a second. This forum is full of scammers. You made a post with a compiled version of someone else's source code and a claim that you've been working on an updated version. Nothing wrong with either of those things, but then you asked for donations. Without providing anything. How do you think that looks?

As soon as I have a working kernel, I will post it. Only then will I contemplate accepting donations.

I disagree, I think it's perfectly fair when the post is misleading. Most people won't understand what has or hasn't been done in terms of work, and it's not fair for them to donate thinking that someone has created something that they haven't.

I can understand what you're getting at with all this, but this is a crypto board. Leave the politics out of it. I took the wallet down, I did not intend to mislead with the post - you took it out of context. A member asked for eduffields version, I gave it to him, He thanked me. I left my wallet.. If somebody wanted to send me 5 coins big deal, I didn't ask for the bounty.

Thenagain, in the spirit of getting this GPU miner out to the community. War will drive us to work harder won't it.. Haha

I didn't actually catch the person asking for the compiled exe, I just saw your post. My bad. Still, it was nice of you to provide that, it was just the asking for donations I had a problem with. Anyone could claim to be working on a miner.

Thanks for removing it, no harm done Smiley
