Fuck Cryptsy. I bought some DRK coins a few days ago and transferred them over to Cryptsy. I disabled the autosell feature because I would have made huge losses. And guess what, they sold my coins anyways. For $0.5 each while I bought them for $1 or so. 400 Coins. Fuck them. I'm so pissed right now since it clearly said, that the autosell feature was disabled. Had anyone else this problem?
Nope, and i've never read about it in any coin's topic.

Is that what happened? I had some of my miners start getting a stratum receive error and wouldn't connect. They could connect to other pools though. I had to move them. i think the miners got trapped in the mitigation of the ddos attack... It was only some of them though so I didn't think it was ddos. Tried to send a message through your support but it didn't function. actually i did, check your mail... It didn't look like it went through. hmm else it because im in the middle of changing servers, some of the dns entries point to 1 server while the rest point to the other server... Don't know. I was just running some aws instances after the test to get all the drk I could. I killed them off because difficulty too high. I'll probably regret not working for every single drk I could get try now

These name change discussions are hilarious. It reminds me of marketing people who come into a meeting saying they love a design or something.... but we need to get a picture of a black person....oh, and an asian.... how about a hispanic?... there's no elderly person shown either...
If you focus on marketing and perceptions, you're wasting time that is best spent elsewhere. There are 50,000 other alt coins trying to create markets and the ability to purchase stuff with them. Yay, I can buy stickers or hire a web dev with a coin. Yipee.
The "marketing" should be about transaction anonymity and that is all. This is what's going to gain any true market acceptance.
-How is it different than Bitcoin - Why would i want to use this coin instead of Bitcoin? - Why should you be concerned about anonymous transactions? - What markets would have a need for this?
Come up with and present scenarious that make it different... want to make a donation completely anonymous? want to help a friend pay off a debt? etc. etc.
IF this coin gains marketshare, it will likely be some entrepreneur who integrates into a drug market. That should not be anyone's concern. No one should be worrying about "the media" at this phase, you should be worrying about marketshare of the coin.
Let's say this coin takes over the online pot market and gets some traction. Let's say a mainstream tech site does a story on it: "DarkCoin Closing in on BitCoin for Your Weed Purchase" or something....
If I really was about being anonymous online, i would welcome this. The devs just need to position the coin as being anonymous and have ZERO stance/care about it's initial primary use. If it gains traction, that changes on it's own.
Quite frankly, this is the perfect coin for the drug market and that's where it's going to succeed first if it does. And I don't care. It's not my responsibility to know where my paper currency ends up after I spend it, or where it was before I got it.

Exactly! It's the technology behind this coin that got my interest. If people want to talk about a coin being good based on it's logo or name then they should go join the suncoin crowd.

I don't see why $20 should be the target, why not $200? It's won the anonymity arms race. But we can be pretty sure it will be a bumpy ride up as it always is with cryptos.

Dark coin is going to overtake quark coin by monday. Once darksend is released, this coin will explode. TO eduffiled, I say kudos to you and InternetApe. You guys have reached a landmark in record time. But be sure not to rest on your laurels just yet. In order for darkcoin to remain relevant once the inevitable copy-cat scam coins emerge, I implore you guys to still consider the encrypted network you had initially planned.

That's not what people are saying. We have the featureset required to succeed, we don't need marketing to sell the coin (well, it wouldn't hurt, but we don't need it like the clonecoins need it). The argument is that we might need to pay more attention to branding if we want it to become widely accepted and useful as a currency, not just as a speculative investment vehicle.

500 DRK sent. Have you actually send 2 times 500 DRKs to random people? If so thanks a lot. Maybe it's also for me time to put my address in the signature. I didn't believed so far, that anyone would really be so generous to spend more than a few micro coins. Great work dude.

I remember your post. You were panicking hilariously and you sold your 500 dark when it was $0.45.

Worked really hard to mine my drk. People can't possibly be passing out 500 at a time right? If so, that's very generous - but is pretty annoying to someone like me and shows we have quite a few members of the community with a lot of drk that are going to make a killing soon.
