how do you defend against attackers who try to DOS by requesting to be part of a joined transaction but then fail to sign off on the transaction? This is the big problem with coinjoin that prevents it from scaling well. have you guys solved it somehow?
There is a penalty for leaving the connection before the darksend completes. And how does that work? You put up a collateral transaction that only the current master node can cash to get into the pool. If you misbehave in any way, the master node will cash it. Each time that costs 0.1DRK, so it could add up pretty quick if you're attacking it. Masternode's are chosen randomly using a deterministic algorithm that can't be tampered with. This has a nice side effect, people will want to run full nodes to get the random fees. So we should have a pretty strong base of nodes. Nodes could become quite profitable over time.

I own some DRK but I am interested in mining it also, do any miners have experience with this over other scrypt coins? How are the temperatures?

temperature and power draw is much smaller. I would say temperatures about 10-30% cooler and power draw at least 30% less

Hopefully the admins do it quick. Don't know about the private nodes. I'm working on 213.229.88.102 currently. Ridiculous Internet constraints where I am are causing it to be a slower process than I'd hoped, but I am on it - hope to have it done shortly. I'll update here and the thread on Reddit when it's finished. I updated earlier, but turned out I had the wrong tag checked out when I compiled EDIT: It's up and running on 07c...bf5 now!

Brand awareness is a very important aspect in marketing ! I think it's a good idea to brand whatever is possible. What about Dark PoW?
Dark PoW: 11 rounds of scientific hashing functions (blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, echo)

Already darkcoin forks popping up, if darkcoin wants to be a success there has to be more innovation ^^.

More innovation? You mean like the DGW, that was implemented literally a few minutes ago?

More innovation? You mean like the DGW, that was implemented literally a few minutes ago? DarkCoin "forks" popping up that don't contain DGW or DarkSend.... More like Litecoin forks with scientific hashing.

More innovation? You mean like the DGW, that was implemented literally a few minutes ago? Yes, darkcoin has good potential but innovations have to keep coming, otherwise others will do. PS: my P2P node at stratum+tcp://62.141.39.175:7903 is updated in just a minute

wow nice feature... I can not check all coins for hard forks twice a day, so if you really ever plan to hard fork again and dont want to see this fail please give pool operators a fair chance to notice prior hard fork appears. thanks. please confirm my daemon is on the correct chain: a@q:~/darkcoin-0.9/src$ ./darkcoind getblockcount 34146 a@q:~/darkcoin-0.9/src$ ./darkcoind getblockhash 34146 00000000005670c28cbd15569061464b9ade0dcd52aac046dd90d62675f782a0

There is a very good reason im here now , and its the only alt crypto i ever recognized as worth my time . Continuously adding features repeatedly forks the blockchain. This only makes sense when the user base is tiny. At some point, the features are settled. Also, if features were the only thing determining the success of a coin, Bitcoin would be dead. The only reason DRK may amount to something is because it addresses a fundamental need (anonymity) directly related to the main function (exchange medium). All these coins adding gimmicks aren't going anywhere because a currency just needs to be a currency (again, just look at BTC's dominance).
