Hey guys, was there some good news?

Or is this just darkcoin rebounding, totally normal, like it always does? lmao

thanks!

p.s. just want to point out that this is literally the third crash since the huge rise, and EVERY TIME it rebounds quickly and reasonably...

With all the scams, hypes, and false promises going around. I think people are realizing that DRK is a safe bet.  Wink

...

But I agree with you, its people, not the OS in the end.

I have a theory about overload of information, where 90% of people then can not distinguish what is important and what is not, and just take thinks as they are and don't reflect about them anymore.
Yes i agree but i talk about that windows users who come to linux without using any security, because they think linux is already securised.
One of my friend is like that.
Agree. Security is an evolving process, hardware, software, skills, education, awareness , not one time switch that you ether turn on or off.
Facing this switch on / off thinking every day in discussions with managers.

why is the source code not available for the current clients

i hold a copy of the original source that used to be posted however why is the source code of the current clients being hidden or unreleased ?

that to me means this is a closed source project.

That isn't even a little bit the case.

The source of the BETA client is closed for very good reasons that have been explained countless times.

The source of the current version is open as ever.

Need a new pool or a backup pool??

Consider using HashFaster!

HashFaster's Darkcoin pool is poised and ready, built atop the same infrastructure that has been proven and tested to over 30GH of miners.

We don't run every coin under the sun, we pick and choose the right coins for our miners, and Darkcoin is an obvious winner so we want to open the floor to anyone that wants to mine with us!

Thanks for your time, hope to see some of you there!

I like closed source projects now. I hope he hangs on to it for longer because I'm sick of clones copying the sh*t out of everything I invest in.

He can make it open source in good time once everything's established.

As I understand it, its open for the people involved, and closed for nay sayers, trolls and copycats.
But its nice to read that it means something at all to you.

A bit of an aside for those analyzing trends... this is the most consecutive green candles we have had (on the 4H charts), since our ATH of 0.0274.

thanks for the link , i will look it over when i have time, build a wallet ect...

i was not about to sort through a few hundred pages of useless posts to find it

there should be some discussion of source code on the op

if the entire project is not open source no one who understands security will ever take it seriously

why is the source code not available for the current clients

There is a link to the github repo in the very first post, it was hardly secret or hidden...

Additionally the details behind the security are also well detailed on the dev forum, darkcointalk.org.

8. Honorcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises

Disintegrated into a scam coin. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=645946.0

Some of the most popular DRK trolls had this in their signature. I have said it in the past and it seems more and more like a possibility that the DRK trolls have a scam ring going with multiple scam coins launched within the last 2-3 weeks in particular. Some of the scammers then lead the gullible into a "reluanch" of the scam coin aka a pigeon hole outfit to rob them again.

Cry foul about DRK, launch scam coin in background, unload coins to exchange, relaunch scam coin as a messiah, cry DRK foul. Rinse and Repeat.

1. XC (X11 / PoW/PoS): It's going at it the wrong way (trusted nodes + coin forwarding from wallet to wallet - leading to lost coins / potential for stealing). They will have to change strategy.
2. Cloak (X13 / PoW/PoS): Laundering through exchanges, LOL
3. Mastiffcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Laundering through exchanges, LOL
4. Vericoin (Scrypt / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
5. Pinkcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Centralized mixer
6. Cryptcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
7. Libertycoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
8. Honorcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises (SCAM)
9. Dreamcoin (X11 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
10. Cinni: (Scrypt / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
11. Boost: (X13 / PoW/PoS): Nothing to show for except promises
12. Anoncoin (PoW Scrypt): IP obfuscation
13. TIPS (PoW Scrypt): Centralized mixer
14. Bytecoin-BCN (PoW): 99% premine of circulating coins + problematic codebase coupled with good anonymity (+2 years in development and still in infancy regarding basic stuff like GUI)
15. Bytecoin clones (PoW): Increasing in numbers every day diluting that field. MRO gets a special mention due to being the first clone. BBR gets another special mention for having a good dev. Still they experience significant problems due to the new codebase.
16. Zerocoin: DOA (?) / delayed for months
17. NXT (PoS): In discussions relative to anonymous implementation

vs

Darkcoin: DarkSend works right now (trustless/decentralized mixing). There are a few bugs to be sorted out in masternode payments.
^^^^^
I dont get why people are so stupid...sheep....Looking to make quick money at such high risk....buy the dev..

I do not understand why people migrated to darkcoin after asic appear in litecoin what they will do when you leave ASIC X11 will change again!
Vertcoin is the only currency that is anti ASIC!

Well even if asics appear master nodes will keep getting their share and probably price will go higher.

What has Vertcoin that RotoCoin doesn't have? It's also scrypt-N and has a target of 600k users in forocoches, maybe in a couple months when the dark hype ends people move to roto, I still don't understand how that coin is so undervaluated.

We are all perfectly aware of that. It will be open sourced when it's finished.

Open sourcing it now doesn't even benefit the clueless shitcoin jokedevs, much less the idiots who keep dropping money on their fairytale crap with vague promises that one day the shitcoin dev will figure out how to use github or something.

Because IMO this isn't a typical bubble.  Yes the price rocketed very quickly and has since come down some but unlike other coins where majority of holders will dump to make a quick buck, DRK has substance, actual value.  Yes things are still in development but there is actual working code and not just promises.  It doesn't make sense to dump back down to 0.002 because once everything is ironed out, code is reviewed, hardened, and released, price will (again IMO) increase dramatically.
