So far we just have a solid foundation for communicating the list, the proof of 1000DRK and the pinging system (this stuff didn't even work before RC3).

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Evan, chaeplin, flare, and everyone helping on testnet are doing outstanding work. If you run or are thinking of running a masternode, you should really be on testnet helping to break stuff too! Grin

If we look at the Shrem case, the Fed had to prove that Shrem knowingly supplied bitcoins for the purpose of illegal activities.

So, if you don't know what is going on in your masternode, money laundering will be difficult to prove especially when darksend is being used multiple times. If you don't know where the funds are coming from or going to; how can they prove or disprove money laundering is taking place? The nature of privacy is that no one knows.

A second line of defence is to simply setup your masternode outside the US as a precaution. Somewhere that takes privacy seriously.

I was wondering all day why the price was increasing. I had to go back 6 pages in this thread to find out about evans latest update. I keep saying it, being investors, we need a way to see dev updates on the fly. Twitter would be best for this but the official account does not list the latest update for example. Ive brought this up many times before: This is a major problem being a DRK investor, and im not even a short term trader.

good one !
"…. investing in Darkcoin seems like a win-win situation" ….>

Nice article. DRK getting some nice coverage again. Sadly not many discuss these positives on this thread. All I hear and read is FUD of late and some regulars bumping some fud posts way after they have already died.

Checkpointing was always a short term insurance measure in my mind. As it turns out, it helped Evan evaluate what was going on with forks and implement more fundamental fixes.

I would try PM'ing InternetApe or Eltito (one of the community leaders over at darkcointalk) to get this sorted. This is too good of an idea to get ignored.

Well... In case you didn't see me post it before...  Maybe everyone can take a break from petty squabbles and turn their attention to what Prypto is doing, and how DarkCoin is now on Prypto Scratch Cards. Wink

Link? Don't see it https://prypto.com/?pg=qLS1s6rhzOfn

I think we break thru.018 and then that becomes support.

Agreed - looks as though 0.018 is the support from here. As we get closer to RC3 I expect the price to gradually rise. If the fork is successful then who knows  Grin

If it's successful, "exponential" may be the word.

Seems as if DRK is a Westerner coin, particularly the United States.

It rose this morning and seems to be weakening as the daytraders on the East Coast are starting to call it a day.

I've deleted this post because 1. I didn't know there was a school shooting yesterday, and 2, I don't think my comments were well written judging from the response and 3 I apparently was offensive, which I truly apologize for.  I was trying to speculate why DRK and privacy might be more popular in the united states, and was basically brain farting.  Apologies all around.

The SharedCoin and CoinJoin programs are not as safe as you think, according to Kristov Atlas:
"...And he's created a new tool to prove it.  CoinJoin Sudoku allows a user to match ingoing and outgoing payment amounts, which makes it much easier to discover who is sending funds to whom over SharedCoin.  Atlas plans to release CoinJoin Sudoku in two weeks' time, to allow users enough of a chance to move their funds out of SharedCoin and CoinJoin into a more secure and private location."

Ouch, I would hate to be holding heavy DRK (coinjoin) bags right now.  Sorry guys...
